gee, this almost feels like...cosmic irony...
(I am then ejected out of the airlock into deep space)
Please do not get into slap fights about the exact definition of the edge of space. If you reasonably could argue that you have been in space before, answer yes. One exception: none of that "everyone exists in space" argument, since it is not useful for this poll.

no, but I have the ability to do so if I wanted to.
(ostensibly)

go ahead. guess.

What happened? That wasn't a thing in my universe
haha, I get that a lot.
As it turns out, my universe's course of events seems quite distinct from most others. A good way to check is to see if there are city lights on the moon.
But I digress. the IUOSA basically told the space agencies and spacecraft manufacturers of the world to switch to a less radioactive type of nuclear rocket engine. Cool stuff.

So, random news, but still pretty big if you're in the know: the Interregional Union's Office of Space Affairs finally declared that a shift to low-radiation nuclear lightbulb engines is to take place over the next decade or so.
If you ask me, that's a bit unrealistic, but it's still a step in the right direction, especially if you remember what happened the last time a NERVA engine landed at Rainbow Bay...

speaking from experience, vat grown meats are...fine? They taste pretty much the same, if a bit more bland. The main issue is texture, because it's all sorta a homogeneous mass.
Still stacks up pretty well to vegan alternatives.
Damn it. Snowy is sad that knows cannot have some of my chocolate bar.
I mean. Not much. It's more whistful looking than anything.

hello there
someone mention space?
Does anyone here like space I think space is cool (too dumb for it though lmao) (I don’t understand all the big science words :<)

Once again, I find myself proclaiming proudly that I am not dead. Things are just really packed right now and the way the schedules are doesn't look like it'll let up much for another few weeks.
Oh and by the way, that computer guy got fired. Big time. That was a blank tape but apparently he already had a few incidents of this kind. Got shuttled back to Earth three weeks ago.
There will continue to be broadcast on this account, but y'know...fewer and lighter for a while.

What.
Now I'm confused. Previously, you indicated that you were certain that, not only was the Moon sentient, but you were the Moon.
But in this reply you state that the Moon being sentient is a theory (who is even saying this?) that you don't believe in.
Please elaborate. This sounds interesting but I am quite lost.
hello fellow space fan :) did you know. that the moon is sentient? (it's *me* by the way... my gender is if a girl was the moon ^_^)
from.... @pokedolls-mizuki-43ds
op what does this mean
not the gender part that makes enough sense, but the whole moon being sentient part
want to elaborate?

Way ahead of you. This one's gonna be good. Engineering is gonna be pissed if that tape was in active use.
Anyways, what going down today for everyone?

Definitely.
Arc it's all over the workstation too, what the dist-
So it seems that the back of the drive was opened, and the tape just kinda...went everywhere. Data might be a loss, hard to say.
Hope that wasn't anything important, like CRITICAL ENGINEERING TELEMETRY. You know, what's normally stored on 1330 cassettes.
(heavy sarcasm)
Anyways, what going down today for everyone?

Oh yeah, a while back someone made an array of old MicroDisc drives play music. Not much else to do with them, 'cause they were obsoleted in the 2010s...
I think that same guy is trying to do something similar right now actually. Hold on a sec-
Aaaaand it looks like someone is gonna be rewinding a kilometer of CTC-1330 tape...
Anyways, what going down today for everyone?

The worrying part is that it's quite loud when it does this. CTC drives don't make that much noise usually, but uh...
They do now I guess.
From what I gathered, he can mess around with the order in which certain actions or whatnot are performed, along with some other stuff probably. Again, not super clear on the specifics either.
Anyways, what going down today for everyone?

One of the tech guys excitedly explained how he managed to hijack the seek function of his terminal's CTC tape drive. Says he can do a whole bunch of stuff with it that the drive isn't meant for, and his Porygon2's ecstatic.
If that made no sense, don't worry. I have no clue either.
He seemed pretty excited about it though.
Anyways, what going down today for everyone?

If you need a computer, most libraries should have ones you can use, or at the very least some videotex terminals. That last one depends on the region though, kind of a Kalos-specific thing iirc.
considering trying out different pet foods for hinata now that I have the money to spare

The long-awaited sequel to Magnetic Tape fr.
But yeah, photonics are viewed here as one of the most promising solutions to the collapse of Moore's Law, which analysts estimate is less than a decade out.
Even short-sighted companies are starting to see the writing on the wall, but it's still a ways off before mass adoption.
Hyped that physical media stuck around. Sort of a random observation, but the tactile feeling of inserting a ceramic-tape cassette is always nice. Bit awkward when on EVA, but then listening to music is...lightly discouraged.
Anyway, consider this a physical media appreciation post for both HoloDisc and CTC Tapes. Makes me wonder if anyone else across the multiverse has got those...
