Assignment 8 character design pt 3
Tool:Csp
Description: a dress changing illustration to show her ability and the outfit setting of the background
Evaluation: I enjoy drawing characters so I picked this composition, but I think I’m missing more details on the side, for example the blurred background doesn’t really show where she’s at

character keyart composition sketch
1:when she first arrived at this world and was like “ what’s going on…”
2: When she decided to use magic and get her a similar outfit to what she had observed the locals put on, but with a bit changes to fit what she like
Ended up using the 2nd one because I’m bad at drawing background

Assignment8 character design part2
Tool: Csp
Description: designs of this character shown in different movement. I tried expressing her characteristics in drawing out a things that she would do.
Self evaluation: I fee like I could include more background of when the things happen and how it happens. The first stealth movement doesn’t feel stealth enough.

Assignment8 character design
Tool: Csp
Description: a character that accidentally got into the world setting of ancient Athens where she doesn’t belong. Has cat ears and dog tail. She’s agile in movement and adaptive to new situations. To fit in to the surrounding, she got herself a similar set of outfit from the local resident. The long neon fabric-like thing is summoned, controllable, normally looks like decoration but can be used as a weapon that stretch out and suffocate the enemy. While investigating this new and interesting environment, she will encounter weird kinds of not organic stone enemies that invaded the town and look for a way back to the original world.
Feedback: no I didn’t design this character for the game I just designed her because I want to see my oc in this type of outfit. She’s not going to be in the game. I think if I’m really going to implement her in game I should simplify the designs even more, and delete parts that makes animating process difficult. For example make less fabric faces and break them down into maybe 3 parts in stead. The ornament on hair is barely visible.

Assignment7 part 3
Used Csp and Unity
Market in ancient Athens settings but different time.
Different weather and time of the day. potteries are broken.
I tried to create a different mood by changing minor scenes in the background and the overall color temperature. I think it could be better if I can make more changes to other surroundings like trees and houses.

07 Environment Design
Tool: csp and unity
Description: a colored version 2d platformer view of the market at the bottom of ancient Athens from last week’s homework. The current objects in scene includes: olive tree, statue, decoration tree, pillar, house, market, pottery for sale
I tried drawing art assets in their own layer and then set them up in unity. But I haven’t figured out how to make good 2d light in unity yet so after I set up the scene I took a screenshot and put it back to csp and added some shading preview. I think one thing that concerns me is that I haven’t determined if I want to go pure flat or with some angles in the perspective. Everything looks flat and it’s hard for me to determine the space between each object. The current floor made it looks like the camera is a little bit above the horizon, but the other sprites are still flat. Maybe I should have leave the ground flat as well. It’s also hard for me to determine the color of each sprites because im not good at drawing background, and that I drew them seperately. I also feel like the background is too big.

Assignment 7 Environment design
Used csp
I wanted to create a environment that fits the setting of 1450s Athens city.
I need a detailed setting of travel route for our platformer game so I though this would be a cool chance. Didn’t have time to make a lot of them because I’ve been looking up how ancient Athen would be like, including the nature, architecture, popularity, temple locations etc. I think I should have done it in a more obvious perspective but I think this kind of set up is the best for platformer 2D game.

Different variations of fish
I always wanted to make a fishing game so like I want to try some concept drafts for this fishing game. I used elements that are different shapes like circle, triangle, oval, star etc. I didn’t color them bc they are meant to be fishes in rivers so each of them will have a set color instead of mix match color in the end. There are many ways that I could improve, like search for more references of cartoonish fish so that they could look better.

Assignment name: Patterns from Particles
Tool: csp, unity
Description: the smell of a flower tea
Personal evaluation: I wanted to make a flower slowly falling effect but I failed, I also wanted to create a chill and cozy vibe with the slow speed. I haven’t played with unity particles before so like I followed the tutorials but are still trying to comprehend what’s going on. There are parts of unity particle system that I still don’t get how to configure and I wish I could do better next time with it
