Sometimes, even the smallest of details can give away how much love and effort was put into something.

During The Magical Turnabout, if you check the poster advertising Trucy's show, you can see that the show will last from April 29th (sat) to May 1st (mon).

Considering that the game canonically takes place in 2028, I looked up a calendar for that year and found out that indeed, April 29 will be on a Saturday, 30th a Sunday, and the 1st on a Monday.

Even though the game was released in 2016, they still researched for a calendar of 12 years later just to make the date more accurate. And I find that lovely.

Can i say something problematique for terminally online millenials and people born after that point: I think the seeming lack of ability or willingness to call one another and chat on the phone with friends unprompted or out of the blue contributes to whatever hellish loneliness everyone is talking about feeling these days. Here's the thing: if I post a fanfic, and it gets 100 hits but no kudos or comments, I don't know how to interpret that.

It could mean that 100 people read the fic and absolutely loved it. But because it's so simple to just hit the "kudos" button, what I'm going to assume is that 100 people read it and they hated it. Or else, why wouldn't they have at least left kudos?

Obviously, it's because they didn't like it. Maybe that fic wasn't as good as I thought it was. Maybe I shouldn't update anymore.

The hit count doesn't matter. The hit count doesn't matter. We know you liked a fic if you leave kudos and/or comments and bookmark/subscribe, but simply viewing it doesn't tell us anything. And that gets really discouraging after a while.

a feel like the new generation of fanfic readers NEED to understand that clicking on a fic (interaction) does nothing. ao3 has no algorithm. your private discord discussions of fic do not reach the authors. if you do not actively engage with writers they will stop posting. this isn’t social media this is community.

what’s your favourite fic you’ve written?

Oh boy. Hmm.... Going by styles. Long Fic: I think "As Long As You Should Have Lived" which is post Resident Evil Village Chris&Mia (sort of) and mostly about guilt and grief and protection. But also I get expand out a lot of stuff and I genuinely love my emotional and my action climax. One Shot: Xion: the Soap Opera Lover Inspired by @poh-writes uh... Xion gets absolutely fascinated with a really stupid soap opera and it rapidly spirals out of control... though not through anything that Xion did. Also, got to reference James Patrick Stuart's career in Soaps! Second is: Water is the Oldest Balm. For @empresscirque. Jason Vorhees and Soap Frienship just because. Series: Dragon and Guardian or my Jecht/Maleficent Romance with 3 universes and also in one of them Jecht was temporarily transformed into a vampire and in another he married someone named Manamea and in the third Maleficent gives up her evil ways and becomes an island's fairy protector... until the Norts decide to kidnap Kairi and discover EXACTLY where she was for 10 years. (still need to write that one. I'll get there) Exclusively for Zines: Seven Years in the Woods (I'm trying to keep this as fandom diverse) The missing seven years in OOT from the perspective of a random Kokiri. Ongoing: Quadratum's Crossing: Sora's adventures in Quadratum with Aya Brea, Dad NieR, and Garrett (written before Thief VR was announced) (Also check out You are not alone! Where Sora figures out he's Aro Ace) Children of the Light AKA Ailana Wake AKA Namine lied about EVERYTHING and she's actually a human girl named Ailana Wake who just faked it all after her dad - Alan Wake - disappeared ten years ago and her mom didn't really help matters.

And... so much more. For the most part, I've liked every fic I've written on some level. Why else would i write it. And some stuff I've been lucky enough for other people to understand. Most stuff... not so much. But it's kind of all there. And the love I have for them and the properties.

let's speedrun some things: the asexual nicki minaj moodboard was a strawman post designed to make ace people look bad and a lot of people fell for it, 'is it horny' is not ever going to be a universal or majority measure of 'good art' and insisting that by 'horny' you meant 'passionate' doesn't make that sentiment less shit, aromantic and asexual people aren't queer lite and don't need an additional Real Queer identity to belong in queer community, 'ace discourse' wasn't a cringe bit of whoops we got carried away with the jokes it was violent bigotry that way too many of you are proud to have been involved in. that's a good place to start.

Hey hey, as a librarian, can I just say don’t pace yourself at the library. I get a lot of customers saying “oh I shouldn’t get too many books out at once” but like you should!!!! Max out your card, take everything we have on a subject you’re interested in, make a book fort in your home. We love that shit! It doesn’t matter if you read them or not; just take them for an adventure and bring them back whenever they’re due!

For public libraries, one of the ways we secure funding year to year is lending. Governments don’t want to fund more books if they’re not being used and the way we measure use is by issues. Regardless of whether you read it or not, whether you have it for a day or a month, if you issue it to your library card, we get the stats! It makes the library look good!

Help your local library; get books out even if you know you can’t read them all!

I feel like a lot of people boil down Aura to being bitter over Metis's death and completely ignore that she's ALSO bitter because her little brother is on death row. And no, I don't think it's fair to boil down her entire motive in Turnabout for Tomorrow to her being bitter over Metis's death. Remember that Simon essentially voluntarily went to prison to protect Athena. Of course Aura doesn't like Athena, she sees her as the reason her younger brother is in prison. While I don't think Aura's actions are justified, as an older sibling I understand why she did what she did.

And let's also keep in mind that the reason Simon takes the blame for Metis's death in the first place is because if it wasn't him, it would have to be Athena. Presumably, Aura knew this, and that's why she blamed Athena for Metis's death; if it wasn't Simon, which she firmly believes, then it had to have been Athena. Remember that Aura releases her hostages in the middle of proceedings once Simon's innocence is proven and before anyone's said Athena for sure killed Metis. Her focus was on making sure Simon was off death row and once his innocence was proven she removed herself from the situation.

Aura didn't just lose Metis to the HAT-1 bombing. She lost her little brother too. Had Simon's sentence been carried out, that would've left her with nobody.

So of course she's hellbent on getting Athena tried for Metis's murder. If it wasn't Simon, it couldn't have been anyone else, and she knows it wasn't Simon.

It's not fair to Aura's character to boil her down to one dimensional angsty lesbian. It's an important part of her character, yeah, but that ignores how much she also cares about Simon and the fact that if Simon gets executed, Aura's lost everyone. Obviously she's going to do everything she possibly can to not lose her younger brother too.

I know I’m not the first person to say this but fandom’s seeming need to shove any character dynamic into some kind of familial role (siblings, father-son, mother-daughter etc) increasingly feels just as stifling and dismissive of platonic love as making every relationship romantic does.

I dunno man do you view all of your close friends as siblings cause I sure don’t. and I definitely don’t think of them as parents
