I'm in the bittersweet process of dismantling the fruit tree gardens.

They've been on my island a long time, starting in the hedge maze that is now my rainbow garden, being fussed around to different parts of Cascadia, before settling into their current location below the school.

They're not long for my island now, they take up too much room, especially in combination with the orchard. It's almost a quarter of my island dedicated to fruit in various ways. It's too much, and I want some room to make new fall- oriented spaces.

I guess my point is, once my DA is updated with the new areas, the fruit gardens won't be there, so please have a look while you still can!

A Dream of Cascadia

I finally set up a DA for Cascadia!

I spent way too long avoiding this because my island wasn't just right, but I realized that was just me holding myself to unrealistic expectations. So I blocked off my house (for now) and did the thing.

If you haven't visited before, Cascadia is a sweet island modeled after nothing but the wishes in my heart. Most areas have some memory or story associated with them, so feel free to ask if you're curious.

If you have visited before, please let me know how satisfying it was to run through all the flowers.

When you wake up in your dream, you'll be in the small, centralized town center where Nook's and the Able Sisters are flanked by a market, a playground, and an orchard full of fruit to shake out of the trees.

From there, you can get lost in the old growth & bamboo forests, run through the flower maze & fruit themed gardens, and seek out all the hidden crannies, like the theater on the beach & the recently improved Mermaid's Lounge. Near the museum you'll find the outdoor school, including the space exploration area (which is admittedly still in draft stages), and around the bamboo forest you'll encounter the new Dim Sum restaurant with associated fish market, and a gym to work it all (not the food necessarily, I mean all of it: your day, your troubles, whatever you need rid of) off.

The neighborhood is designed to change as villagers come and go. Each villager has a yard decoratied with their favorite colors of flowers, and with their interests and styles in mind. Some villagers yards, as you'll see, are newer than others. Leopold has only just moved in, for example. Beyond my home at the top, you'll find my textile studio and the graveyard, which you'll notice hasn't been used in a long time.

I've been told Cascadia feels maze-like, but while you wander remember there's always a shortcut, and the paths are there to show you where to go. When you wake back up at home, I'd love to hear all about your dream.

I'm so disheartened by the news that people are using the presents to glitch inventories.

I had planned on hosting a Treasure Hunt tonight for the last fireworks, but understanding the implied risk, I'll have to figure something else out. Obviously I have no intent to use glitched presents, but I also don't want to have an event that is so reminiscent of something do sketchy.

Does anyone have any ideas about how I could add suspense to the hunt without adding the implied risk of wrapped presents?

Thank you so much to everyone who attended. I hope you had fun! The fireworks made such a nice background for the hunt, don't you think?

I'll undoubtedly spend this week collecting more neat things to share with the community next Sunday for the last fireworks of the season. I hope you'll come again!

As you enter from the airport, I've left some fireworks goodies for you to enjoy during the show.

While you're on Cascadia, please wander freely, go shopping, fish & hunt bugs, pick flowers, and generally enjoy what the island has to offer. I've built it to be enjoyed! I also have all the fruit if you're still missing any. I don't have many DIYs tonight, but you're welcome to take whatever is there.

I'll be wrapping all sorts of items this time! So far we have cute, antique, & imperial furniture; fossils, star fragments, & crafting materials; Celeste, high-mat, & uncommon DIYs; and gold & NMTs.

As always, everyone is welcome, and feel free to tell your friends so you can hunt together!

I'll be opening Cascadia at 7pm PST, so you can search for items under the fireworks!

Cascadia is OPEN closed for the Bug-Off!

Cascadia happens to feature an almost obsessive collection of every type of tree and flower, with gardens, and woods, and fields of flowers everywhere, making it an advantageous place to Bug-Off.

Since we can't farm fish bait to catch bugs, I figured people without as much room dedicated to bug-spawning features might be at a disadvantage. Let me and my out of control gardens help you!
