Pelorus Jack (fl. 1888 – April 1912) was a Risso's dolphin that was famous for meeting and escorting ships through a stretch of water in Cook Strait, New Zealand, for 24 years between 1888 and 1912. Pelorus Jack was usually spotted in Admiralty Bay between Cape Francis and Collinet Point, near French Pass, a notoriously dangerous channel used by ships travelling between Wellington and Nelson.[1][2]
How he got his name is uncertain. It is recorded in the book Breverton's nautical curiosities : a book of the sea that he was named after the pelorus, a marine navigational instrument.[3] However, Te Ara - the Encyclopedia of New Zealand, says the name came from Pelorus Sound because it was at the entrance to that stretch of water where he would regularly meet ships to accompany them.[4]
Pelorus Jack was shot at from a passing ship, and was later protected by a 1904 New Zealand law.

I heard about this story in Alvaro Carrillo´s PARLIAMENT OF NATURE:
Marine researcher Mario Morcillo published his particular interpretation of Atlanterra Cave (Tarifa, Spain). After studying the symbols, the shape of the cave and its orientation, he concluded that this place was, in ancient times, a natural observatory for tuna fishing. " This cave is a natural calendar that signals the right time to fish for tuna fish. The upper natural notch at the mouth of the cave marks, at sundown, the days of the spring equinox (March 21) and the winter solstice (Dec. 21) "(...)" around these days keys of the year the largest number of killer whales are concentrated in these waters, coinciding with the passage of tunas to enter and leave the Mediterranean

Artificial fish habitats
.
Artificial fish habitat attracts fish for fisherman however, it also provides a place for fish to raise young, lay eggs, feed and provide protection from danger, amongst many other postive benefits. Fry and forage species are the key to sustainability, protect them and there will be plenty of larger fish to catch. Stock the lake's shelves with food and some will get very big.

Jack was the pet and assistant of double leg amputee signalman James Wide, who worked for the Cape Town–Port Elizabeth Railway service. James "Jumper" Wide had been known for jumping between railcars until an accident where he fell and lost both of his legs.[2] To assist in performing his duties, Wide purchased the baboon named Jack in 1881, and trained him to push his wheelchair and to operate the railways signals under supervision.
An official investigation was initiated after a concerned member of the public reported that a baboon was observed changing railway signals at Uitenhage near Port Elizabeth.[3]
After initial skepticism, the railway decided to officially employ Jack once his job competency was verified. The baboon was paid twenty cents a day, and half a bottle of beer each week. It is widely reported that in his nine years of employment with the railway company, Jack never made a single mistake.[4][5]
After nine years of duty, Jack died of tuberculosis in 1890.[3] Jack's skull is in the collection of the Albany Museum in Grahamstown.

Odilon Redon
Caliban's dream, 1895-1900
.
The characterization of Ariel and Caliban in The Tempest is significant in relation to Montaigne’s essay, which was one of Shakespeare's main inspirations for the work. In "On Cannibals" and in The Tempest, both Montaigne and Shakespeare explore the relationship between human nature and modern civilization. Montaigne’s idealization of the cannibals contrasts sharply with Shakespeare’s unsympathetic portrayal of the brutish Caliban, whose name thinly veils the influence of Montaigne’s essay.
Fragment from “ Shakespeare’s Natives: Ariel and Caliban in The Tempest “, written By Michael O’Toole

For Lovatt it was a precious thing, which was always carried out with great respect. “Peter was right there and he knew that I was right there,” she continues. “It wasn’t sexual on my part. Sensuous perhaps. It seemed to me that it made the bond closer. Not because of the sexual activity, but because of the lack of having to keep breaking. And that’s really all it was. I was there to get to know Peter. That was part of Peter.”
