"The fact that the Bible tells us over and over to pray while giving us little knowledge of how God actually uses our prayers leaves me with the conclusion that prayer is overwhelmingly about humility. It’s a posture of total trust placed not in anything we do or say, but in the power of God’s sovereignty. It’s an understanding that God is God and we are not. It’s a gratitude that God has even chosen to hear us." ~Natasha Crain~ https://www.instagram.com/p/CqYrOvCOjSb/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=

The difference between a Christian and a worldly man is not that the worldly man has only affections or 'likings' and the Christian has only 'charity'. The worldly man treats certain people kindly because he 'likes' them: the Christian, trying to treat every one kindly, finds himself liking more and more people as he goes on — including people he could not even have imagined himself liking at the beginning. "Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as in Christ God forgave you." — Ephesians 4:32. 1 Peter 3:8 is one of the most well-known Bible verses about compassion: "Be like-minded, be sympathetic, love one another, be compassionate and humble." We can practice compassion in everyday life. Accept responsibility and be accountable for what we say and do that hurts others— blaming others is one of the reasons we miss our opportunities for empathy. https://www.instagram.com/p/CqTUIQjO_uo/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=

✝️ Power is dangerous unless we have humility. Conversely, Oh the Power and Freedom of a Humble Life. Pride is often the true reason why we get our feelings hurt, why we feel rejection, why we won’t admit to mistakes, why we want to be seen with certain people, and why we stay angry. Jesus gives us the perfect example of a powerful life lived without conceit, smugness, or arrogance. So why do we not want to admit to our pride? It is because of our pride! Today and always let us look deeply into our hearts and motives to recognize the pride and self-righteousness there. Pride interferes with a close relationship with God and keeps us from becoming more like Jesus. ✝️ https://www.instagram.com/p/CqQd3j0Ol1i/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=

Let’s lock arms and become more like Christ! God Is Working for Our Good We know that in all things God works for the good of those who love Him, who have been called according to His purpose. (Romans 8:28, NIV) God cares about and has a plan for our life. His will is for us to know Him through a relationship with Jesus and to love Him and others as we grow to be more like Jesus. He promises that no matter what wonderful or terrible things come our way, He will work all of them out to make us more like Christ and establish our place in His kingdom. He can restore anything broken. He is always at work on behalf of those who love Him. https://www.instagram.com/p/CqJuNpEOq0s/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=

My Granny always said, “When you love much, you will hurt much — But love much anyway. God is Love, so remember when you love and care deeply that God has put love in your heart.” It truly is a gift to love deeply. 1 Peter 1:23 https://www.instagram.com/p/CqJqV_NO1cS/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=

Seek the Lord while He may be found; call to Him while He is near. (Isaiah‬ ‭55‬:‭6‬ HCSB)” Whether our life is comparatively easy or extremely difficult, we share a common denominator: We choose a response to our circumstances. Am I going to believe that God is in control, or not? Does He not SEE and KNOW what is happening in our corner of the world? Was HIS suffering in vain? NOT AT ALL! He Himself says, “A thief comes only to steal and to kill and to destroy. I have come so that they may have life and have it in abundance.” John 10:10 The problem is, in our secular society, we have come to believe that “blessing” and “abundance” are both directly related to our physical possessions and comfort. If we’re not careful, we start to think we are “owed” something instead of being willing to work hard and give God our best. Some of the most content people I have seen in life are the ones who have very little, but are grateful for what they do have. Whatever our experience is in this life, our circumstances will change us: and make us either bitter or better. We choose which path we take, and it is the path of obedience that will lead us to joy, no matter how smooth or bumpy it might be. We are constantly changing and growing and learning–but God never changes. He is our one constant. He gives us standards to live by and promises to trust in. His way is always perfect and His faithful love will follow us wherever He leads us. And He is GOOD. https://wateringcanblog.com/2014/11/25/life-is-hard-but-god-is-good/amp/ https://www.instagram.com/p/CqBaotNOIzD/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=

Please remember, as Christians, the love of God should permeate through all areas of our life. All areas of our life, including how we treat God's creatures, should reflect His goodness. The Lord ordained merciful care of animals from the working ox to birds in the nest (Deut 25:4; 22:6-7). 🐂 🪺 ✝️ Beautiful Art by Norlien Fine Art. https://www.instagram.com/p/CobQHuSuW8O/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=

The world may never notice if a Snowdrop doesn't bloom, Or even pause to wonder if the petals fall too soon. But every life that ever forms, or ever comes to be, touches the world in some small way For all eternity. So how does one stop being proud? The opposite of pride is humility. Hummm, not a real sought after trait. For most of us images of vulnerability and doormats come to mind when we think of humility – not exactly crawling up the ladder stuff. The truth is humility actually is the most sought after trait, only we look for it in others, not in ourselves. We want others to prefer us, we want others to admit when they are wrong, we want others to be teachable. We long for this in others. We would love to have bosses, leaders, politicians that are humble, ones that admit their mistakes, ones that canvas the truth. In actual fact, humility and honesty are identical twins. If you have one, you will most likely get the other. It’s interesting, every pregnant mom is given a “focal point” to get her attention off of her labor. A runner is told not to look at his feet, or at his neighbor, but keep his head up and focus on the finish line. A tennis player is instructed to keep his eyes on the ball, not on his racquet or his form. A marksman, needs to keep his eye on the target. For a person seeking humility, you need to keep your eyes on the Master. “Fix your eyes on Jesus, the author and the finisher.” Hebrews 12:3 [The King's Crumbs - Nutrition for your spirit.] https://www.instagram.com/p/Cn9zjmiu37Z/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=

According to Stanley, most people don't learn from bad decisions because they're convinced their bad decisions were somebody else's fault. One more time… According to Stanley, most people don't learn from bad decisions because they're convinced their bad decisions were somebody else's fault. “Our culture tells us that the worst thing we can do is to feel bad about ourselves. That is not true,” he emphasized. “The worst thing we can do is not feel bad about ourselves about something that's bad about ourselves.” “Shame has its place and shame has its role, and if I'm not willing to face where I actually am, I will never ever get to where I want to be,” he added. “So as long as I'm kidding myself, as long as I'm selling myself, as long as I'm fooling myself, as long as I'm refusing to look in the mirror and make excuses, there's just no way to make progress, whether it's financially, professionally, academically, relationally and whatever it might be.” He pointed out that humans are “really good” at “selling ourselves on a really bad idea” and stressed the importance of not rushing into making decisions. “We don't want to wait,” he argued. “We know that if we wait, we're going to talk ourselves out of it and so we become our own worst enemies. #Humility #Gratitude #WeWereMadeToGlorifyHim https://www.instagram.com/p/Cn9zgIJOssv/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=

God’s Protection and Presence ✝️ It’s a place of contentment not dependent upon circumstances. A place … It is finding our place in Him, near to His heart. HE is our place of refuge, our Strong Tower we can run to and be safe. He is our Peace. In His Presence there is fullness of joy. He is our Courage when we don’t feel brave. God is constant. God is for us. He is with us. He is fighting our battles. He is sheltering, providing, comforting. God is giving us peace in the storm, a firewall against the blaze that burns. I am so thankful for God’s Protection and Presence! https://www.instagram.com/p/CnYWg_iOqRb/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=
