No, I will not elaborate (jk, I will), and please don't be mean, i'm sensitive.

I didn't intend to make it shaped like half a pyramid, but that just means it was destined to be like that.

Each tier is also ordered (i.e. I like Scarlett more than Jasmine and Beardo so she is at the front.)

Note: I have only seen Pahiktew in full, like, twice (but that might have been a decade ago). I was able to watch, like, 4 full episodes on YouTube before it was taken down a few weeks ago.

Total Drama Pahkitew Island Rewrite AU Part 2 - Season Explanation

Prelude: I headcanon that Pahkitew takes place in late 2009/early 2010. This is based on the many timelines that people online have created based on things said in the show or by the creators; like Owen and Noah being 19 in TDRR, TDA taking place a few days after TDI, and TDWT taking place one year after TDA. I honestly care if this is incorrect, I like it taking place in the late 2000's.

TL;DR (still pretty long) - Some strangeness, but not all out supernatural. Location is Camp Wawanakwa on Pahkitew Island somewhere in Muskoka, Ontario, Canada (always has been). entire island is not robotic, only certain parts are. Topher will be focused on. with Shawn as a second fiddle-main character.

It will be a full season with alternating elimination and reward challenges like Action. No aftermath leads to non-challenge hang out episodes. They still have to build their own shelters. Might get help from veteran cast members. They will be given food, but they have to cook it themselves with the bare minimum with supervision from Chef. Maybe the Mess Hall will be open, like picnic tables sitting underneath an awning so it's more rugged. Canon reward challenges will shift to them being given things that'll either help protect them, upgrade their shelter, or help with their cooking. The communal bathrooms will be more rudimentary as well, with a small amount questionable showers and sinks, along with them having to just use outhouses as bathrooms.

All the guys and girls will sleep together based on gender, no matter what team they are on (like Action). The Boat of Losers should come back. Rehashing old challenges with a new twist. Playa De Losers gets brought back and seen. Chris and the contestants are toned down and are still eccentric but not crazily so.

PRECEDENT: So, as a precedent, I think I want Pahkitew to be more “realistic” (duh) at least as realistic as Total Drama can be, which I think is how season one was. Before the mutants, the entire island sinking, the aliens and overall craziness, it was just Sasquatchanakwa, strangely intelligent animals (this includes SCUBA Bear and Clucky the Chicken for TDPI, don't worry), and a possibly cursed Boney Island; so wild but not too wild.

----- THE ISLAND: So, like I said, I’m not going to rewrite the entire series, but for Pahkitew I am going to imagine that the island never sank, this is the same island; idk if the original island had a name, but for all intents and purposes it will be, an always has been, Camp Wawanakwa on Pahkitew Island somewhere in Muskoka, Ontario, Canada 👍🏼. The island still got fracked at the end of All-Stars but it wasn't bad enough to sink the entire island, only parts of it; because of this, the entire island is not robotic, only certain parts are. And the mutants are still contained on Boney Island with Zeke. Next thing, main character shift.

CHARACTER FOCUS: Now, technically the seasons of TD aren’t supposed to have a main character since the casts have at least a dozen of characters, but they definitely focus on certain characters more than others, usually finalists or those they stary long. Like Gwen gets focused on a lot in season one and Mike is literally the main character of season four, i think i've never seen it. I would say that either Shawn, Sky, or Jasmine is the actual main character of season 5 1/2, but idk to be honest. Normally in TDPI rewrites Samey gets made the main character since, to most, her storyline with Amy is the most interesting thing that happens in TDPI. And maybe I stupid and can't tell main character moments from side plotlines, but since Topher is my favorite Pahkitew character and favorite character overall, I want him to be focused on. But since he also isn't a finalist in my version, Shawn will probably get second fiddle-main character moments.

GAME SCHEMATICS: Season model - Pahkitew is technically only half a season with half the cast of the original and episodes (much like Revenge and All-Stars), but it needs to be a full season in order to flesh out the characters, so this is what I have. It'll basically be like Action where the episodes will alternate between normal elimination episodes and reward challenge episodes. Then, since they have no aftermath show, they just have a few episodes where it’s like a true reality tv show of the kids just hanging out and getting to know each other or something IDK. Survival Theme - Because the canonical Pahkitew island is robotic and they had to completely start over after the island sank, season 5 1/2 is kind a survivalist season with the teams having to build their own shelters and find g their own food, unless they win which gains them food. I do kind of like this, Total Drama is a partially a parody of Survivor afterall, but it also feels kind of cruel. So I want to figure out a way to balance the survivalist theme, while not being cruel and keeping it similar to the vibe of season one.

So, I think that they do have to build their own shelters, but, much like Season 4, they might get help from veteran cast members or something; it'll tie in the past seasons since Pahkitew is pretty isolated, pun not intended, from the rest of the show. I think that they won't have to find their own food in the woods, instead they will be given food but they have to cook it themselves with the bare minimum with supervision from Chef (and maybe DJ idk); they have to work like survivalists in a less cruel way, and this also gives Chef a reason to be more involved with the season unlike how he was in the original where he was basically a background character. Maybe the Mess Hall will be open, like picnic tables sitting underneath an awning so it's more rugged.

Since they will be given food on a daily basis, the reward challenges will shift to them being given things like pillows, more blankets, gas grills, fans, etc.; things that'll either help protect them, upgrade their shelter, or help with their cooking. The communal (or communion as Lindsay said) bathrooms will be more rudimentary as well, with a small amount questionable showers and sinks, along with them having to just use outhouses as bathrooms (ones other than the confessional, of course); idk why I'm imagining the bathrooms in my old high school's football stadium, I only used them once but they were dark, echoey, and creepy (I think they will be like that but smaller and more cramped).

Other - Unlike Island where the two teams were separated by gender (girl Bass, boy Bass, girl Gopher, boy Gopher) and old Pahkitew where the two teams slept without any separation based on gender, my Pahkitew will be like Action where all the guys (no matter what team they are on) will sleep together and all the girls (no matter what team they are on) will sleep together; this allows for more team cross-interacting that can lead to differing friendship and relationships.

Also, I think the Boat of Losers should come back because the goofy exits like the catapult and cannon suck and the boat fits (I will try my freakin' best to fit in Chris' "Ella's gone, I shot her" joke, which can only be done with the cannon in mind, because it is way to funny too wipe from existence). And who knows maybe i'll retry what All-Stars was trying to do before forgetting half-way through, which is rehashing old challenges with a new twist; this would make sense since i'm basically making Pahkitew into a TDI 2.0, idk though. Also, Playa De Losers gets brought back and seen.

----- THE CHARACTERS/CAST: The Hosts - I can’t exactly remember, but I feel like I remember reading a fanfiction where the writer had a headcanon that Chris liked the cast of Pahkitew the most between the cast generation, and I find that really endearing and adorable despite Chris being a legit maniac. Maybe Chris didn't rent out the ENTIRE island as a toxic waste dump in ROTI, maybe he just rented out certain parts of the island, like the mines. And since the island isn't completely radioactive in this universe, maybe Chris only gets community service or something instead of actually going to jail (despite needing to be there. LOCK THAT MAN UP!); what sane parent would allow their children around a convicted felon.

So, Chris is toned down, not completely how chillax he was in Season 1 because he does have a few batsh*t seasons under his belt. Maybe more like season 3 Chris where he’s not completely manic, more eccentric than anything but still capable of going off the rails (but not fully). I also want to think he kind of dotes on the kids of season 5 1/2. I think I’m probably going to make them all too sincere and endearing for their own good to where he can’t help for feel bad for them and feel kind of protective of them (they're so f'd up that he can't do anything but feel bad 😭). Like I said, with Chef having more to do with the season now, he will also be more seen? And the interns gotta be there, I know they weren't there in season 1, but still.

The Contestants - The main thing that people seem hate about the season is how gimmicky and annoying the characters are. However, I did see a video on analyzing TD characters (literally the BHUltra one) where the person (Andrew) said all the characters in the series start of as gimmicky, even the Gen 1 characters with all of them having stereotypical labels. The only reason Gen 3 is so annoying is because not only do they only get one season to develop, but they also technically only get half a season with season 5 being spilt in half between All Stars and Pahkitew, so they never had a chance 😭. So, because of this I see a lot of rewrites of Pahkitew toning down the characters and making them like normal 16-years-old with quirks, or at least them fleshing out instead of keeping them one-note characters, like in season one. So that’s what I plan on doing with the characters.

SIDE NOTE: I've binged watched so many of BHUltra's videos; I always need up going back to the Izzy Isn't Crazy Theory one (of course), the Childhood Fears one, and despite not celebrating any holidays, the 100 Questions about The Santa Clause one. I just watched the new Barnyard one like a week ago (great), I just finished rewatching the Indie Horror Game one (hilarious), and i've been showing my older sister the Kids Choice Awards one. I freakin' love the Bray Wyatt one and despite not knowing a lot about Super Smash Brothers or Star Wars, I enjoyed the hype cycle one and the Star Wars one.

Total Drama Pahkitew Island Rewrite AU Part 1 - Introduction

NOTE: I probably will not be turning this rewrite into a fanfiction because I cannot write narratives for the life of me; dissecting symbolism and writing argumentives, sure, but definitely not narratives. I over-describe everything and am not good writing dialogue, so. However, I probably will outline the episodes. EXCEPT for the fact that the entire season in full was taken off of Youtube, so I have nothing to go off other than the wiki which can only do so much. So idk at this point 🤷‍♀️.

TL;DR: uhhhhh...I love the Total Drama and Pahkitew Island is one of my favorite seasons (against my better judgement). TDPI was the first season that I watched as it aired as opposed to just catching up after it aired.. I love Topher. I shall be explaining my AU is the next parts. :)

---------- INTRO: So. Total Drama is something that I love. It’s probably a fandom I’ll be in until the day I die. With most pieces of media, I'll get into them for like a month before forgetting about it; but no matter how many times I take my focus away from Total Drama, I always end up going back it. That being said, I know that a bunch of people in the fandom HATE Pahkitew Island because it is, truthfully, pretty trash. And I agree, it sucks straight butt for the most part and most of the characters aren’t that good. I also know that more people have started to change their opinions on it too though.

However, It will always hold a special place for it in my heart. Not only are two of my top 5 favorite characters out of the entire series and spin offs from this season (Topher is my favorite TD character and Shawn is my 3rd favorite), it was also the first (and only) season that I have watched in real time. I WAS alive when Total Drama Island first came out, but I was too young to remember it, so I didn't watch Island, Action, or World Tour when they first came out. I remember when Revenge of the Island came out (because I remember looking through the episode titles on On Demand), but I didn’t want to (and didn’t) watch it because it didn’t have the First Gen characters (and if there's anything I hate, it's change). I remember when All Stars came out, but I ended up watching the whole thing afterwards on YouTube. I remember when Ridonculous Race came out, but I only watched the re-runs after I came home from school. And I have not seen either of the new seasons, sorry. (It's honestly funny how much I love this series without having seen most of it.)

I do, however, VIVIDLY remember being in the living room with my Grandma and running back and forth to my room so I could watch the Pahkitew finale because didn’t want to interrupt her daily watching of Jeopardy (dawg, I remember being so happy that Shawn won). And so, even though it sucks, it still holds a special place in my heart. And while the episodes got taken off of YouTube, I was able to watch a few episodes. I found it strange, it didn't feel like Total Drama, but it was also pretty funny and I couldn't help but like the characters; they're way too endearing, in my opinion.

That being said, there are A LOT of fanfictions online rewriting the many seasons and spin offs of Total Drama, even the seasons considered good, but mostly Pahkitew (i think). So, I kind of what to do a rewrite of Pahkitew Island. Like I said, i'm not going to do an entire fanfiction, I just don’t want to go THAT deep into it. It'll be more like a What If instead of a whole rewrite, like the vibe and stuff.
