I haven't actually come up with a solid answer. I thought about him owning Proto's soul, but I feel that it would be weird (for me) to write, basically, what's an abuse of power story with that element.

I think it'd be better and easier to tell a story where the submission Proto Vox is in is purely just an abuse of power on Connalls.

I've mentioned a few times that Proto Vox does not get paid, and he's completely financially reliant on Connall. Connall pays for everything for him, and Proto lives in the same building as him. Everything he owns, he had to ask for Connall for.

Connall would and is willing to take his soul but he's never had a reason to because Proto never stepped out of line, even after, The incident. He had nowhere to go, he had no money. All his connections were through Connall. If he ran away and left, he'd be left with nothing.
