It had turned into a knee-jerk reaction. Just part of his personality. He wanted so badly to make everyone else happy, to keep everyone else content, that he didn’t even allow himself to think about his answers to half the questions he was asked.

If people were happy, they would like him, after all. They wouldn’t leave.

So when he was asked things like, “James, d’you want pizza or Chinese?” “James, d’you wanna go out or stay in?” “James, d’you want to watch a comedy or a horror?” he’d just always, always, shrug and reply, “Either. Whatever works for everyone else.”

It’d gotten to the point, now, where he didn’t even waste time thinking about his own preferences. Instead, he focused on what everyone else wanted. 

So when Regulus, wrapped in a blanket and tucked into James’s overstuffed couch, gave him a lazy grin and asked, “What do you want to do tonight?” he didn’t even give himself time to contemplate.

“Whatever you want, love,” he said, smiling, reaching over to his stunning boyfriend and tracing a finger over his cheekbone, marvelling at his beauty.

This, however, seemed like the wrong answer, because Regulus frowned, causing James’s heart to clench. Unwrapping the blanket, the shorter man shifted, moving close to James and looking deep into his eyes. “Jamie. I want to do what you want to do. That’s important, too. What do you want?”

And, really, he hadn’t been asked that with such genuineness in so long that it made him pause, words caught in his throat. “I…don’t know,” he whispered softly, looking off into the distance.

Regulus pressed a kiss to his cheek. “You think about it. We’re not in a rush.”

james is the type of person who just lays on top of the other person when they cuddle. does not matter who, he will be wrapped around them like a koala

can’t get over the thought that regulus gets into random beef with non-living things and james is always there to support it. regulus tore his sweater on a doorknob? james says “fuck you door” anytime he crosses it. regulus almost got into an accident with a prius? they both make a face anytime they see one on the road.

Okay, so I just got back from seeing Hozier and it was the best concert I've ever been to. Above is the shirt I wore (I designed and printed it myself!): Along with having an incredible voice, and writing beautifully devastating and powerful songs, he really seemed like such a great person. He named each one of his band members and background singers and where they were from (twice), then took the time to shout out every single lighting, sound, and stage assistant that he'd worked with today. He even had us sing happy birthday to one of his backup singers whose birthday is tomorrow. Towards the end he gave a short speech about not taking our rights for granted, and appreciating the people before us who fought for them by being politically active. He talked about children in the Middle East who were dying and how to find good places to donate too, that it's important to be kind to people even when we don't know who they are. He said he supported his Jewish brothers and sisters who were battling antisemitism and his Muslim brothers and sisters battling islamophobia. As a leftist Jewish person, it was so refreshing to hear somebody with such a big platform like that use his voice to rally people without spreading any hate or making anyone feel unwelcome.

So yeah. In conclusion: take care of your Jewish neighbors. Take care of your Muslim neighbors. Take care of your trans neighbors. Take care of your indigenous neighbors. Take care of your immigrant neighbors. Take care of your disabled neighbors. There are a lot of people that need to be taken care of right now, instead of being yelled at.

Free Palestine. Fuck Trump. Keep fighting, but don't stop spreading love.

this audiobook I'm listening to about the history of surgical procedures just referred to Sigmund Freud as "the psychoanalyst who is known for always having a cigar in his mouth" and I find that deeply amusing

as a pink lover. The ""universal""" hatred of the color pink by young girls is due to the heavy expectation of femininity forced on them. It is an expression of frustration at gender roles. It is not internalized misogyny. No you will not inevitably start liking pink as an adult and if you do that is not healing your inner divine feminine or whatever we're saying now. Its a color. 😁👍
