so basically we're going cliché and you work at this quiet little florist down the road from where tom does most of his business deals. anyways, one day a business deal goes wrong and the guys does the runner and thinks he can hide in your shop as a simple civilian.

sure enough, tom tracks him down and the guys ( let's call him matt ) whips out a gun and points it at your head,

"move any closer and i'll blow this bitches head off" matts voice booms throughout the store and you wince slightly at being called a 'bitch'.

tom let's out a cocky tsk and cocks his own gun, running a hand through his hair, unbothered, "oh matt, no wonder you don't have a girlfriend."

and with that, a loud 'bang' ran out through the store and your ears start ringing. you don't notice your crying till tom shows up directly in front of you, using the black sleave of his button-up shirt to wipe the tears off your cheek,

"hey, im so sorry. you shouldn't have had to see that."

a quiet hiccup leaves your lips and you can't seem to pull your eyes away from the man laying lifeless on the floor you were just standing on, not even five minutes ago. tom notices this and gently cups you chin and tilts your head up so you're looking him in the eyes,

"don't look at that, okay ? just look at me until i bring someone in to clean that up."

you barely nod, a quiet and vulnerable whimper leaving your lips as tom cautiously pulls you into his arms. he gently rubs your back, using one hand to text one of his men to come and clean up the mess laying not too far away from the two of you.
