Hey, I'm Tina Cohen-Chang. I'm currently seventeen years old and a senior at McKinley High. I'm also a Cheerio and a member of the glee club here. On top of this, I am currently very happily taken by Mike Chang. Before anyone starts asking, yes, Quinn Fabray was one of my closest friends. That might save you some time.

You think so? Well, who am I to deny you a chance to feel better just by seeing me?

Aww. I’m sorry that Asian camp has you so exhausted.

I am worn out
This is my fourth summer as a counselor for Asian Tech Camp, you’d think I’d be used to it by now. Anyway, hello friends, how have you been? What’s your summer like? Seriously, be my refuge. I need to talk to someone who isn’t under twelve and asking me about C++.

Sort of. My parents showed me some pictures of it, so it looks really nice just judging by those. I’ll get more of a full view once I actually get out to New York.

The summer has been really nice so far, surprisingly.

Ugh, don’t remind me. I’ve been pretty good about putting off thinking about how we’ll be in separate places really soon. But I’m sure we’ll still text all the time. There’s Skype, too.

A week before classes. I figure that will give me enough time to get comfy in my apartment.

You do! I leave about a week before classes start, so I’m thinking you’ll have a good amount of time to finish it up.

I need to finish compiling my list of favorite places and spaces for you… when do you leave?

I guess, but I do have a family that would be pretty upset if I left so soon and didn’t let them have time to tell me goodbye.

Waiting to get to New York? If I were you, I would have taken off a month ago.

I haven’t! I won’t actually be leaving for New York until about a week or so before school starts. I figure that gives me enough time to get used to everything and get settled. What about you?

Well, I am smart, so I’ll give you that.

I don’t doubt it. But I’m not looking to cheat, so there’s that. I do, yes. My parents offered to help me pay for it until I get a stable enough job to do it myself.

Smart chicks that drive people nuts. Sweaters and text books practically screamin’ they need a badboy

Hey that’s cool, s’not like I’ve never been with a chick with boyfriend before. But whatever. So uh, you got a place in the city of insomniacs yet?

I’m not quite sure what you mean by ‘chicks like me’, but I do have a boyfriend, so I assure you that I’m okay on that front.

I’ve enjoyed getting at least a little time to relax. But I have to be honest. As much as I’ve been enjoying my summer, I’m looking forward to getting to New York soon even more.

Group Text || Tina, Brittany, Mike
Santana: Exactly. But it's not like I can just text her back. The number was blocked. So we basically get to sit around like her freaking puppets until she decides we're enough of a priority to come back again.
Santana: ...Unless we fake some kind of A danger to freak her out.
Mike: That sounds like a quick way to get A's attention and bring on some real danger.
Tina: That sounds... really insane. But if Quinn keeps putting talking to us off, it'll be too late. It's already July and it's not that much longer until we're leaving for college.
Tina: Maybe Santana's right. Maybe we do need to try and force Quinn to meet us.

Group Text || Tina, Brittany, Mike
Santana: Fine, whatever. The point is, we need a list. There's no way Ivy Fabray isn't involved with A, or Quinn. She knows something. I'm so down to bug her until we get answers, but I'm pretty sure no one else wants her to pull the whole disappearing act.
[Later, Added Message]
Santana: ...I'm pretty positive I just got a text from Quinn.
Tina: Wait... you're kidding. Quinn texted you? I didn't get anything.

IT’S HARD TO DANCE WITH A DEVIL ON YOUR BACK || SELF-PARA
TAGGING:  Tina Cohen-Chang (mentions of Quinn Fabray, Santana Lopez, Brittany Pierce, Mike Chang, and Hunter Clarington).
TIME FRAME: Friday night.
LOCATION: Tina’s bedroom.
GENERAL NOTES: After the recent happenings, Tina takes some time to try and sort through her thoughts.
Tina blinked as she stared up at the ceiling. She felt numb. In the last year, her life had taken such a turn for the worse and Tina just wanted it all to be over. Or to somehow go back and stop all this from happening. Go back to a time when Quinn was still alive (which she still was now, but actually alive) and the four girls were still a group of best friends. Things were so simple back then. Or, maybe not simple, but definitely better than things were now. Quinn may have held secrets over their heads, but at least nobody had died and they weren’t being stalked by some psychotic freak who wanted to ruin their lives.
Tina had to start her thought process somewhere and she figured it was best to start with the girl who all of this could be traced back to: Quinn Fabray. When Tina had first been taken under Quinn’s wing, she had felt so special. After all, Quinn Fabray was the most popular girl in school. Tina was just a loser back then. But that was the thing about Quinn. She could make you feel special and wanted and she could draw you in close enough to her that you would tell her anything and everything. In that way, she was a good friend. But then when she learned those secrets, she fed off of them. She took advantage of your weaknesses and held them over your head so she could keep her control over you. In that way, Quinn had been an awful friend. Quinn Fabray was truly both the greatest friend you ever had and the worst enemy you ever had.  There was no in-between. At the root, the friendship she had carried with Quinn could be described as one simple word: Toxic.
But, if it hadn’t been for Quinn, Tina wouldn’t have met Santana and Brittany. Both girls became true friends for Tina and this was especially true when they were all she had to lean on when they started receiving texts from A. Tina was sad that the two girls were going to a place for college that she wasn’t, but the goal was to get out of Lima and away from A. She understood and she knew that the three of them would still all be friends. Even if they didn’t have much to thank Quinn for, they could thank her for that.
Then there was Mike. Mike Chang was truly the love of Tina’s life. He cared about her and loved her through everything and Tina’s more sure than anything that they’re meant to be. Which was why, even though Santana and Brittany wouldn’t be there, she was glad he would be in New York with her. She looked back sometimes. On the time when she had a hopeless crush on Blaine Anderson and, she had to admit to herself, emotionally cheated on Mike. A part of her still ate away at her for keeping that a secret from him. To this day, he still didn’t know. But at the same time, Tina had done all she could to forget that time and act as if it never happened. It was better that way, wasn’t it?
But things were so complicated. Quinn had returned from the dead. Pretty much everyone knew she was alive by this point, though she didn’t think any of them had actually seen her the way that she, Mike, and the girls had. And Jesse, remembering how Quinn had punched him in the face. And, on top of that, Hunter had gone missing. She had a sick feeling in her stomach about it. Hunter had had a reason to want to leave town. it was because he knew that A would get him at any given time. And now, with his missing person posters all over town, it was clear that A had taken him. She was so tired. Emotionally, physically, all of the above. Sighing, she closed her eyes and willed herself to go to sleep, hoping for dreams of life in New York. A life where she was happy and finally free from A.
