When I lived in Newark, Cory Booker was my mayor.

I remember learning about him and the efforts he made to improve rent prices and other services for those in poverty.

He went on food stamps to understand what his constituents lives were like, lived in a tent to protest for the poor and homeless, and is an all around kick ass dude.

And to the rest of my wonderful state, I loved seeing all the posts cheering him on. Jersey strong stands for more than just rebuilding, it stands for strength against all opposition.

I turned 40 today.

Feels like thirty, with more back pain and less fucks given.

I can’t fathom angsty Soukoku anymore because they’re just too silly.

Like I’ll think of a sad moment and it just gets interrupted by one of em yelling that’s cringe.

The first time they see each other after 4 years they help each other out and share a joke.

Chuuya got a second wind back on his will to live because dying like Dazai would want too is just cringe actually (Stormbringer.)

Oh Chuuya shot Dazai…yeah they used to do it all the time. And honestly I believe that because of course they fucking would.

Forget terrifying these two are the single most unserious duo the Port Mafia ever had.

These two are the ones dooming the narrative and bickering while the world’s on fire.

They never take anything between each other seriously and I’m supposed to be like oh I bet Chuuya was sad when he left.

When I’m pretty sure while Chuuya was celebrating Dazai went and bombed his car. Time doesn’t mean anything the second they’re together it’s like they never left.

Silly unserious Soukoku is their truest state of being and I wouldn’t have it any other way.

These two beautiful beasts are what keep me going most days.

The "little" one is Frigga. She's a chaos hound.

The big hound is Cerberus. He's a tri-paw.

They are my hel hounds, my protectors, my sweet babies.

He gets some really bad nightmares and/or thoughts at night ;(

genuinely so scary that you can't access the page on the ssc website that guides you through changing your sex designation. so so fucking scary. they are already making our lives harder. they are already taking what little resources we have.

My father has cancer.

He was diagnosed stage 4 back in August.

Now it's January, he's living in my house, under hospice care. He can't walk more than a few feet without losing his breath. He sleeps most of the time.

I've been feeling overwhelmed by everything. The need to care for my father vs the angry kid who he 'abandoned'. I use quotations because it's a long and complicated story.

Also the world is on fire and what the hell??

I think a key difference in the problems that Chuuya and Dazai both have is that, while both have self worth issues, Chuuya looks back to stuff and loves his past self. If he had to interact with kid, 14 or Stormbringer him, he'd probably be very kind to them.

Dazai, on the other hand, would hate any past self of his. Drop kicking them might be his 'going easy on them' compromise. His self-worth issues aren't about who he has become, but who he thinks he's always been and has been trying to change without ever realizing the progress he makes.
