Daily VoxAl Drabbles #151 (full collection here)
--
Vox hates summer.
It’s not the heat: he has perfect control over his body temperature these days. But Alastor…
Alastor is sprawled out on Vox’s cool body in nothing but his underwear. He’s sluggish (cute) and sweaty (hot!)… and he smacks the wandering hand that dares to squeeze his fuzzy deer ass (devastating). “No! You know the rules.”
Vox whines. Last year, they didn’t fuck all summer. Sex is always a coin toss with Al, but he flat-out refuses to work up more sweat during heatwaves.
Sighing, Vox dutifully drops his hand.
At least he’s rewarded with a little kiss.

Since Our Last Goodbye
Alastor’s failure during the battle displeased his owner enough to punish him by overwriting his soul to no one less than the Media Demon. Vox's goals with his new property seem clear: to humiliate and break his enemy. It takes a look at their complicated and bittersweet history to reveal a hidden truth.
Alastor/Vox
Angst; Slow Burn; Mature
Chapter 6/21: Under Heaven, Over Hell
During the late 1950s up to 1964, Alastor and Vox live through a time that almost seems too heavenly for Hell. Their unlikely friendship grows, their influence prospers, and they enjoy all the pleasures the afterlife has to offer during this rare period of bliss, success, and shared indulgence in a place not known for such happiness.
slow burn, angst, denial and mutual pining, friends to almost-lovers to enemies - #justradiostaticthings, canon-typical violence, old men in "don't call it love", slight torture, later topics of self-harm, suicide attempt, psychological torture, sexual content, unreliable narrators, blood and inury and them being them

Chapter 5/21: Company Grows Misery
Their laughter without him doesn't matter; their indifference towards his absence is of little meaning. After weeks at the mercy of his new soul owner, Alastor is shown that the hotel has moved on. Beneath the grin and the polished poise, a flicker of something different hides, a piercing ache he’d never name. He is forgotten, yes. And for once in his life, the loneliness doesn't act as a solace, strength, and welcome anchor, but clings to him like a shadow he can't shed, uninvited, unyielding, and unbearably human.
