Ray ray ray, I am watching both Zam and Deraps streams right now and before lifesteal started, I was like "Haha im so excited for sunkissed crumbs" I WAS JOKING............. and Zam earlier was very pointedly avoiding Derap......... I hate them....

S7 SUNKISSED IS INSANE. and it's the fact that Derap prefers to avoid talking about Zam altogether (Derap's quote still haunts me btw), while Zam loves bringing him up in extremely negative ways, even to the point of misinformation and wrapped perception of reality... this is gonna be one long season, huh? 😭

I find it intresting that Derapchu didn't have anything that was complete and his on the server when it came to builds - Not including bases. The one thing that he did have and finished, his Warden that he built, he was forced into building it. Bacon had to force him to build something to anchor him to Spawn, and even then Derap didn't care much for the build. When his base was found he was more mad that it was found and that they spawned creekings than the fact that they actually messed with his base. Sure, he liked his Pale Forest base too, however that was thousands of blocks away from Spawn and he realistically would have just moved again if someone found it. The most building he did for that was planting the flowers. Finally, his ship was left almost half-finished and once he decided he didn't want to work on it anymore he stopped caring about the build.

But that isn't exactly right. I did leave something out. Because Zaun exists. Sure, there are some collaborative builds at Zaun, however a very large amount are actually done by Derapchu or Derapchu was very heavily involved. He worked hard on Zaun, and actually making it look good. He would check up on Zaun, making sure its safe, and looking after it. Most players anchor themselves to Spawn, not just through builds but where they decide that their season on Lifesteal ends. But Derap never did. He never cared for spawn outside of caring for it through proxy of caring for Zam. As much as Derapchu claims that he only cared about things because other people did, I think that he did genuinely care about Zaun.

There is a lot of reasons he loved Zaun, and one of them I'm confident is because it was tangible evidence that Zam and the relationship that they had was real. Zaun is left untouched and almost perfectly preserved from a time where Derapchu had the closest thing you could get to stabilty and consistency within Lifesteal. I think that apart of it is that Derapchu always yearned to do things as a team because he was so scared of being lonely, but also because I feel like he was scared of being idle. In Zaun there was always something to do, and to fix, and to build and he always knew that at the end of the day Zam would be there.

I think that its also what Zaun represents. It represents safety and freedom. Sure, they had to worry about Mawn and they dropped wardens ontop of it, but that didn't take away the fact that it was a escape from what Lifesteal usually was. It represented Love. Zam and Vitalasy / Zam and Subz finally reconciling, or as close as you can get, at Zaun. Not just that, he brought players that he cared for and loved to Zaun. He took Spepticle there and looked after him, he showed Zaun off to Pangi and invited him there, He accepted 4C and Jaron into Zaun. Wemmbu and Parrot being the only two players who never got to see Zaun, both of which being players that he felt responsible for.

I think that, in a way, Zaun IS Derapchu, and Derapchu is Zaun, which is why he was so attached to it. Zaun is isolated away from the rest of the server, and people still don't totally understand it. Mapicc and the chungpire as extension claiming that it just existed to go against him and holding it over Zams' head and just not liking that it exists, or lot of players just forgetting that it existed or not even knowing that it existed, or just not spending very much time there. Mapicc is claiming that Zam teamed with Derapchu just to go against him and would hold the fact that he did that over Zams head on why Derapchu isn't a good person or good for Zam and Mapicc just not liking him, with the chungpire not liking Derapchu as an extension of that. Players forgetting Derapchus' actions within the season such as Ash forgetting that him and Derap are teamed, or now knowing that he did them such as the majority of players not knowing that he revived everyone and kept everyone alive, even Spoke.

Then theres the final catagory of players - Zam. Zam loved Zaun, and Zam loved Derapchu. However, Zaun was never going to be his priority or his first choice. The only time we went long periods of time without seeing Zaun from Derapchus POV was when Zam left the server for 97 days, because Zaun felt lonely and empty without Zam and if he never went there then he can pretend that he hasn't noticed how lonely he feels without Zam. Zaun didn't feel right without his teammate. One of the first things they did once Zam did come back was go to Zaun, proving in my opinion that Derap really was avoiding it without Zam. Zam chose his temporary resting place to be at Zaun, but only temporary. Zaun was never something that was meant to be the end for Zam, it isn't for him. Thats okay.

Derapchu never accepted Lifesteal, refusing to anchor himself at Spawn, which was something that all players did. The inactive players such as Planet and Mid, he cruellest players such as Mane and Wemmbu, and even the most disillusioned players such as Reddoons and Ashswag. They all anorched themselves to Spawn. Derapchu refused to accept the terms and conditions of existing on lifesteal, deciding to connect himself with Living and Reviving than Dying and Banning. He stands out like a sore thumb against almost every player on Lifesteal, and was the only player to achive this. Everyone else who claimed they wanted to keep eveyone unbanned didn't keep up their end of the goal. Just hoped that it would happen.

And Lifesteal saw that he never accepted it, went AGAINST IT at every turn even since the beginning, where during day one he decided to put himself into a box while he was AFK instead of logging off, Lifesteal saw Derapchu and decided that Dedication and Determination needed to be rewarded. He got chosen by the server.

NO YEAH I REMEMBER IN ONE OF YOUR POSTS YOU MENTIONED REWATCHING ALL THAT AND I JUST SAT THERE LIKE. NO WAY. that's crazy. don't mess with us lsderapchu fans when we pull out the physical "accurate lore notebook" and rewatch days upon days of content or something.😭😭

unfortunately i haven't even started yet AND im being given actual study-related tasks to start doing which is. upsetting to say the least. so idk if ill be acutally commiting to this even if i really really really wanna.

So you know how I was writing that ls!Derapchu essay? Well, one vod watch revealed to me that I literally made, like, factual mistakes here and there. THEREFORE! Once Lifesteal S6 ends, since it's currently summer and I have no life, I have the crazy bonkers idea to watch and rewatch every single lifesteal vod and video that Derap has while taking notes of everything he says or does, how things affect him, and how he changes throughout the story. All that to rewrite the essay, though this time properly and faithfully to the source material.

It's gonna be a long month.

I'm rewatching Derapchus Lifesteal VODs in their entirety for the first time and about 30 minutes in he says something I personally find really intresting. They got on the topic of discussing revives and bans on the server and he says something that I was really surprised to hear because of how he was saying it.

"I genuinely thought it would be really funny if I banned myself on first day" [...] "The Unban recipe is so expensive." [...] "It's really hard this season. Like it's very hard to revive people."

It's so intresting to me how Derap could have been one of the first players to be banned and he wanted to be. Especially considering the fact that in the end, one of his only goals was to have everyone unbanned. Not just that, when it comes to discussing the crafting recipe, Derapchu actually crafted and used the most Revive beacons this season (And I honestly think he has the record for the most revives done in a season but don't quote me on that.)

Derapchu of all players knows that the beacons are expensive. In his final moments in Lifesteal we see that they're so expensive he can't actually create his final Beacon that he needs. However we see Derap is actually REWARDED for his efforts on keeping everyone and the server itself gifts him the last of his materials to craft it.

In my opinion, while he was no where near perfect, he still was deserving to be chosen by the server to be rewarded for his preservation, accomplishment and the actual process there. Derap never held his ability to revive when people over peoples heads (Both those who needed to be revived and those who wanted someone revived), he never expected kindness from the people who he did revive, and finally he revived players that other people.

I might get into it all in more detail in a big master post about Derapchu however this connection to Revivals and Reviving players makes him stand out so clearly against the rest of the players because his connection with lifesteal doesn't lay with Bans and Being Banned.

That's the norm, and what's expected, but Derapchu despite everything, made a conscious effort to not let himself conform to the cruelty of bans. He may have done it himself, but he brings those players back each time. He made a conscious decision not to ban himself at the beginning of the season and stuck by that the entire season. Players such as Mane and Flame however, who dedicated themselves to banning players however, cracked and had to ban themselves.

(A little Extra:

Derapchu, despite seeming like he never wants to create a revive beacon, is the only player actively rewarded by the server itself for doing it. He set himself two goals this season - Protect PrinceZam, and to have no banned players - and he completed them almost perfectly. One of the few players to do that, by the way. It's almost like the server is thanking him for making sure everyone (even Spoke) gets to end the server without this restless feeling of Being Banned. He's rewarded in many many other ways, too, like Midmystic giving him her mace and if I remember correctly some of her hearts. I really want to make a separate post just about how he got chosen by the server in the end however I thought these belonged here! :P)
