The Master and the Doctor’s companions drink together and have a chat about the Doctor.

Imagine a new season of Doctor Who that the Doctor just starts traveling with their new human companion in the first episode without any intro about how they met.

The companion might explain it when others ask them, like every other average first meeting story, aliens invaded earth and the Doctor defeated the aliens with their help. Then the Doctor invited them to travel together. They bond with each other quickly and the companion eventually has a crush on the Doctor like many other past companions.

But their first meeting story only exists in flashbacks and soon the companion realizes there are some loopholes in the story to the point they start doubting if it's real at all. And when they try to contact their family, they find out they don't even exist.

So they pretend to be sick to stay and search the TARDIS when the Doctor is out. They find a watch that whispers to them. Turns out they're actually the Master, the Doctor turned them into human with false memories to save them from Judoon. The season will end with the Doctor comes back to the TARDIS and hears that familiar "My dear Doctor, I've been waiting for you".

Fully committed to the headcanon that the master spent, like, the entirety of the 70s and 80s screwing with UNIT because he knew the Doctor worked there.  Not even big things, because you don’t want to accidentally cause a paradox or cross your own timeline, but stuff like ordering 200 pizzas under the Brigadier’s name, or asking 3 if his refrigerator is running.  Just being an endless minor annoyance for a solid two decades.
