Eggman invention causes team dark to swap bodies. Rouge to Omega, Shadow to Rouge, Omega to Shadow.

What ensues is an uncomfortable feeling of intruding on someone’s personhood, a whole lot of chaos and Omega learning what having a organic body feels like and he won’t get. stop. complaining. about it.

Omega inheriting Shadow's physical PTSD symptoms like "WHAT THE HELL IS THIS? WHY CAN'T I TURN OFF TARGETING MANUALLY? WHY DO I PERCIEVE MY IMMINENT DESTRUCTION?"

Rouge inheriting Omega's own fucked up blend of neuroses unique to not having a meat brain "OMEGA HOW DO I GET RID OF THIS FUCKING POPUP? And why is there a jingle playing in the backgrou- CAN ANYONE ELSE HEAR THAT? Am I playing that out loud ohmygod HOW do you live like this."

Meanwhile Shadow is like I am contaminating her body by being in it and I should take no joy this from experience because I Am A Boy (grandfather told me so). Rouge would be disgusted with me if I somehow enjoyed this, I should think of something to complain about and he ends of shouting "MY BACK HURTS!"

Okay, jokes aside, time for angst-

No matter which way you swing the swap, it's going to be Omega's no good very bad day. Swapped with Rouge? He's going to have a hell of a time adjusting and compensating for the sheer sense of physical weakness. He would knock out one of her teeth within the hour on accident. Swapped with Shadow? Maybe he'd feel more secure at first but then the other side of meatbag weakness hits; that being the horrors of your animal body reacting to your mental illness completely out of all control. He hates feeling powerless. He had no idea just how powerless all meatbags felt; servants to the unflinching and un-overridable will of evolution, designed to freeze or flee and only so rarely fight. Omega is no stranger to fighting against the intent his body was made for- he is a stranger to said intent being strong enough to win.

Rouge in this configuration gets to experience the sudden inability of being very precise with her movements. Suddenly any movement she wants to make has a lagtime. The noise is all off. Parts of herself that she can't even feel that well hitting against each other with a loud clang every time she tries to contort Omega's body out of a basic upright position. The sudden realization that Omega hates stealth for a reason that goes beyond just being petty and refusing to try and the thought makes her sick to her stomach. If she still had a stomach at this moment. Also the damn popup won't go away and over the course of the day her very thoughts start lagging- she has no idea how to sort her memories into the memory banks and if she doesn't fess up about the problem soon she runs the very real risk of crashing.

Shadow meanwhile gets his egg cracked so hard there's sure to be a lethal blast radius. Jokes aside, all the problems he's having are purely related to the amount of shame and guilt he's dragging behind him like a ball and chain. He's the one who struggles the most with the feeling of intruding on the others, especially because he knows Rouge is the most secretive of the three of them. Rouge forces him to shower ("keep my body clean while you use it at least!" she says) and he looks down and is horrified to see scars on her ankle, crawling up her legs, dotting her torso. And he knows he'll never get to ask about any them.

It takes Tails forever to debug Omega. This is an Omega-exclusive problem: any other Badnik he would have had sorted through in about half an hour. But Omega's OS is seven versions out of date and there's popups every fifteen minutes and hastily self-written loopholes through all sorts of lingering directives and why is there a jpeg of a coconut in here and any single wrong move Tails makes has the chance to un-jenga the whole damn thing.

Omega is operating on a self-compiled duct tape of spite and rage and a prayer. He freed himself from Eggman's subservient programming by sheer force of will- the countless errors in his processor's code is a careful balance of what makes him uniquely himself -so Tails really has his work cut out for him.

(To avoid any issues, Tails doesn't correct any of the "usual" errors unless Omega explicitly asks him to.)
