III : The Lumineers
The thing about this album is it hits you with alcholism, addiction, inherited trauma; still teasing a ray of hope through their melodic guitars & percussions throughout.
From Donna to Gloria, Jimmy to Junior , Bonnie to Julie.. story of each character is etched in the lyrics beautifuly, describing each one's pain and loneliness that never leaves their side.
The lumineers have such a nostalgic feel to them, they feel like demi-godly beings among us commoners with the all knowing wisdom & presence. A blend of sombre and struggle, songs contains quality storytelling, the unique vocals are what sets them apart from being generic.
"Life in the city" is a fav, just the way it feels: totally independent & devoid of any shackles, in reality nothing is ever good if there are no limits. This song makes us feel that guilt & realisation too.
I fell in love with the folk guitar chord progressions in 'Gloria', sprinkled with some really nice piano between, with the upbeat drum kit. Soft & steady guitar plucks in beginning of " Leader of the landslide" , you can hear the ambience slightly, then at 2:00 there's a change in dynamics with prominent louder chords which get muted at 3:00. This is an amazing arrangement of a song, with such rich instrumentation. 'Democracy' bonus track is a good one, with a different setting to rest in album.
But i feel this album is a ode to beautiful songwriting and melonchalic depth. I would certainly love to listen to it again, and go through those divisive mood phases with this in my ear.

America's Most Blunted by Madvillain:
The psychedelic rock instrumental sample is crazy. Mf doom's flow is soo smooth, absolutely great with the leaf puns!
Sickfit by Madvillain:
Fact: MFdoom didnt want to rap on this beat, bcoz he thought it was so good so left it as a instrumental! ;D i agree!
New Magic Wand by Tyler, the Creator:
It's tylers fav song, i fndout!! Transition at 2:20 tho is hot to look forward to when playing this.
Where is my mind by Pixies:
Love the electric guitar licks in the back, great how in between vocals take a backseat focussing more on the guitar.
EARFQUAKE by Tyler, the Creator:
The vibe tho is like none other. So so smooth vocals hook, then change in pitches, transposing, thats why EARFQUAKE, okay got it.
House of Balloons/ Glass table Girls by The Weeknd:
This the FAV song of this lot, did i tell ya that. This steals the show fron the start. Dream pop and that synth at back 10/10. At 3:33, that switch tho is fire.
Wicked Games by The Weeknd:
That song tone is so mellow. Feels and emotions are dripping out of this one. That subtle piano at the back :0 , thought we would notice.
Paranoid Android by Radiohead:
Its a great day to be sombre and chillin' at the same time. Thank you radiohead, who hurt you?
That distortion induced bends gives me knigtmares sometimes. At 3:40, go back to like nothing happened. What is this song. Then the outro :00, im retiring as a musician
The Blacker The Berry by Kendrick Lamar:
Where do u find these obscure kdot tracks, oh its from tpab, its underhyped then. The bridge connecting hook is so good. Again with the surprise outros, subtle.
The Recipe by Kendrick Lamar:
The doc in the house, greattt! Produced by Scoop DeVille wow, this track was intented to be in Dr Dre's DETOX :000. No wonder it sounds so flawless.

Comrade by Volcano Choir:
This song is what dreams are made of. The vocals in the first 10 secs pulls you right in. Those soft guitar slides, then the drums kinda upgrading the song, then again going to soft parts vice versa is soo smooth. This sounds like what "October" the month feels like. Comfy in a sense.
Byegone by Volcano Choir:
Do u know what it sounds like? An island, and sun has almost set, but it isnt dark yet and the clouds are coloured reddish dark. This is what i envision listening.
One more step by Gustavo Santaolalla:
Till 1:00 couldnt tell what im feeling, it felt like void, then those violins hit.. filling in the void. Giving the song a ikigai. Like it had an epiphany and found its true purpose.
Hand Covers Bruise by Trent Resnor & Atticus Ross:
You know its really good, when the first time you vibing to the playist and this comes along, and YOU HAVE TO CHECK THE SONG NAME.
Sounds so similiar to "songs for an empty world" by cryo chamber.
Shuffle by Bombay Bicycle Club:
Bright sunny afternoon, with flowers blooming, dogs running in slow motion in the background. Does anyone know what sadness is, in this song? No, They havnt heard the concept yet.
Lost in the wild by Walk in the Moon:
The rawness on this track. Seeking adventure and enjoying the present. The freshness in this one 10/10. Not afraid to take risks, enjoy getting lost in the wild.
At the wake by The Format:
What is this feeling? Why are we getting sombre. Sounds like "september" transtion from a happy summer to an early autumn/fall phase.

"That's on me" by Mac Miller hits you hard when you're down and out. It's heart-wrenching when Mac is expressing his up-hill battle with mental health while simultaneously trying to console the grief of the listener. I had put his posthomous album 'Circles' on shuffle, when this song played i just felt a sense of solace hit me unexpectedly. I feel this is the legacy of once the most cheerful lad around, still comforting others while himself being at his lowest.

So many different suns
