Is the Poppy War worth reading?

From what I’ve seen on goodreads, apparently it’s based in a fantasy version of China but some names and words are clearly Mongolian? Is the worldbuilding a strange mix of Chinese and Mongolian assuming that they’re interchangeable or does the book ever address why some names are just Mongolian?

Me: I function fine most of the time

Also me: crashed out because everything was too loud, my molars growing in hurt every time I chewed, my favorite spoon was dirty and I have to work on Sunday, move to a new apartment on Saturday, which effectively means I have 12 straight days of no rest or downtime

But when I was reading the last book, the little journal excerpts at the end of every chapter- I assumed it was VIN after the finale telling a story- so I was so sure Vin would survive the finale.

My heart was ripped out of my chest, torn to pieces and left in a puddle of blood when I finished the book.

Valentines day is so ironic cause this guy died and we think its romantic, but on the other hand everybody is a jerk celebrating love on a day this guy commit suicide because he loved someone, like could we be more petty
