Caregivers Ghostbusters Headcanons (Ghostbusters 1984)

Heads up: this movie contains some sexual content and humor, as well as swearing. Suggested by Anon - they specifically asked for Peter and Egon, but I had to do the whole gang. 😆

Peter Venkmen

Out of all the guys, Peters’s the best at playing pretend. Making things up comes very naturally to him, and he’s always happy to go along with your games.

He loves to tease you and he does it all the time; but he also gives you plenty of genuine compliments.

He’s an “I’m going to count to three” caregiver, but he rarely actually gets to three.

He loves to perform the tablecloth trick for you, despite being… well, less than great at it.

The man has very little ego. He doesn’t care how silly he looks or how much attention he’s calling to himself, he will do whatever it takes to make you laugh.

Ray Stantz

He gets so excited to play with you, and he pours his heart and soul into it. He wants you to always be having fun.

He makes sure you have your own personal corner in the firehouse where you can hang out while they’re on calls.

He likes to tell you about all the different types and subtypes of ghosts; how to recognize them, how to handle them, etc.

(Sometimes he forgets he’s talking to a kiddo and you need to ask him to explain things more simply. He’s always happy to do so.)

Whatever you find interesting, no matter how odd or unusual, he wants to hear you talk about it.

Egon Spengler

He’s the one who’s most concerned about things being safe and child-friendly, though he can be persuaded to let you take some risks.

As the main tech guy for the group, he’s fully capable of building some neat (and practical) toys for you.

He is SO bad at playing pretend. He’s incredibly stiff and monotone, and he constantly looks like an actor who forgot his lines. It’s hilarious.

He likes to show off his fungus collection, and he’s eager to see any collections you have.

He loves to tell you the bizarre and paranormal local histories. “You think that building looks creepy? Well, it is, because in the eighteen hundreds…” He needs minimal prompting to go on a spooky tangent.

Winston Zeddemore

He’s the most level-headed of the group, and the most traditional caregiver; he makes sure you eat regularly, brush your teeth, all that good stuff.

(He’s also the most likely to actually punish you for misbehavior. Sorry, but puppy eyes don’t work on him!)

He loves to drive you around the city in Ecto-1, showing you all the coolest places.

If you like them, he’ll read you Bible stories before you go to bed.

He’s a major hype man; he knows how awesome and capable you are, and he’s determined to make sure you know it too.
