I highly recommend to everyone to pray the seven sorrows. There's a rosary for it and it's so powerful imo. I really like it. I feel like it really helps you to understand suffering

Trusting the Poor to Make Their Own Decisions
A wealthy woman once visited the twentieth century activist Dorothy Day and pulled a large diamond ring off her finger. She handed it to Dorothy and asked her to use it for good. Dorothy dropped it into her pocket. Later that day, a homeless woman knocked on the door at Dorothy's Catholic Worker house, begging for money. Dorothy calmly reached into her pocket and gave her the diamond ring. Dorothy's friends were appalled. Later, while alone, they asked Dorothy if it would not have been better to sell the ring and use the money to rent a room for the beggar woman. Or perhaps they should have invested the money in a bank for her. Dorothy replied, "She can do that with the ring if she wants to. She can see it and go on vacation if she wants, or she can just wear it on her finger and enjoy it if that's what she wants. Do you think God created diamonds only for the rich?" Dorothy's response exhibits not just one, but two key principles of Catholic social teaching. Not only did she lavishly take an option for the poor by gifting the diamond ring, she also embraced the principle of subsidiarity, which says that decisions should be made at the lowest level possible. In this case, the lady receiving the ring should decide how to use it - not Dorothy, not her friends, and not the state.

Hi Christblr!!! this prayer request is on behalf of someone else
My co-worker's sister is in an abusive relationship. It has reached a point where we believe he WILL kill her, he's choked her multiple times
Please, pray that my co-worker's sister gains the strength to leave him. That she recognizes how precious she is and that this not behavior she should tolerate. Pray that the traumas which keep her emotionally bound to this relationship are dissolved. Pray that any systemic barriers she encounters are knocked down by Our Lord. Pray that above all else, she will not lose her life to this relationship.
Please also pray for the boyfriend. Pray that he has a miraculous change of heart and repents. And that justice is served to him on a silver platter!

Thinking about how aside from coming to save us all from sin, Jesus was also God coming to experience His own creation. Jesus was a little boy once, with parents who loved and raised him. He had hobbies. A favorite color and food. He dreamed, he imagined. He felt the grass beneath his feet and the wind on his skin and saw the stars in the sky. He felt joy, grief, anguish, fear, excitement, love. He was a person.

one friend who trained with camadolese said "yes. Aesthetics ARE the fire. Fire can keep you warm or it can burn your house down. Following 'what the fire wants' is nonsense and particularly a kind of nonsense that makes me suddenly fear arson lol"
Don't get me wrong traditional latin mass is gorgeous but sometimes it feels like tradtional catholics worship latin mass more than they worship Jesus. Christ himself didn't even speak latin, latin was the language of the oppressive empire that killed him.
Every TLM obsessed catholic i meet also has this weird beef against Vatican II. Mind you, it's mostly young gen z catholics. How are yall missing something you've never once attended?? Again, do you worship Christ or do you worship Latin Mass? The TLM people are so obsessed with is hardly traditional, we forget that the earliest masses were in homes, abandoned buildings, remote forests etc. idk man, I just think there's too much focus on theatrics, the obsession seems vain at times. When right now as we speak, there are catholics in the global south forced to have masses in secret, it feels whiny and immature to complain because mass isn't the right aesthetic for you.

To mock and belittle the poor, homeless and imprisoned is to mock and belittle Christ. When we care for the disabled and the poor, we are caring for Christ.
