actually i really do love the idea of deacon getting good at cooking. like now he has free time again to find new things he enjoys/other skills to improve at, and he really likes cooking for bunny. and she likes tasting it! being in love like this just makes him wanna do things for her.

Does anyone have like big relationship headcanons for deacon? Like is he with your soul survivor, is he toxic, or did the SoSu force him into therapy? Im so curious because i know there are a few of us out there but whats your biggest hc for him in a relationship? For my SoSu, he becomes protective in a way that is seen as them taking care of each other. Deacon brings him his meds in the morning, stuff like that. What about you guys?

I do! Thank you so much! These will be general headcanons but i do thrown in some about his days as a bigot. Hope you enjoy.

Deacon Headcanons!

Deacon is a pathological liar so i think that in his final affinity dialogue he’s telling the truth about almost everything. I think the UP deathclaws don’t exist, I think he was just a part of the L&L raider gang .

He’s from the mojave!

Contrary to a lot of people’s belief on here I also think that at least his mom is still alive. I don’t think they talk much or at all anymore,maybe because of work or deacon’s deep self hatred but at one point I think they were very close.

On the topic of Deacon’s family, my hc is that they ran a very wasteland/backwoods apothecary and because of that he is very good at identifying plants for a whole bunch uses.

When Deacon was in L&L, he was quite sadistic which is part of the reason he hates unnecessary violence so much.

His name is Jonah! Jonah means God’s messenger or dove and the story of Jonah is spiritually very close to Deacon’s past.

He’s scarily smart, not just in his line of work but in general. He’s very good at math and english in particular.

You can’t convince me that he can handle spicy food at all.

(I love thinking and theorizing about his early life before the railroad and his family and i have more hc’s/thoughts on them but thats basically/entirely oc territory so i wont talk about it much!)

Wasn’t trying to get anyone up in a tizzy over my last post. I was pointing out stuff that i personally noticed and wasn’t trying to make deacon sound like some grody edge lord. I had just been trying to point out that the shit he does can very much be viewed as malicious, hell I even questioned my own choice over that word. Deacon is just a character that means a lot to me and I like looking at him from different angles. Just thought that some of the stuff he does a bit scary knowing that there is a lot of info that he doesn’t even share with Desdemona. He has such a strong moral compass that he sticks to frequently, he doesn’t even like Hancock because of how violent he gets. He such a cool character and it kind of feels like i’m being shot through the heart when i remember that this blog isn’t really my echo chamber anymore. I deleted the post cause i’m really embarrassed now. Im sorry y’all!

I feel like, because deacon was most likely an addict (if you choose to believe that one voiceline when you get addicted to chems with him as a companion) , that he’s probably a very big candy person or just sweet things in general.
