Faith Nott || Death Eater Werewolf || 28 || Pureblood I saw my parents, hearing the news:'Your oldest daughter drowned today...'I thought about what they might say...It'd be their word, only their word. On its own.

ofthorfinn:
thorfinn knew he’d never do anything to hurt faith; the feeling of betrayal was still there, but more so redirected towards her new pack rather than her. the whole exchange almost made him feel nostalgic, a reminder of the friend he used to have. “i’d like to see you try. y’know, that new set of claws doesn’t give you an advantage.”
***
Faith had known from when she had been turned that things could remain the same. That some people just wouldn’t stick around. But the falling out with Thorfinn had still hurt. He’d been someone she trusted and now she could barely look at him without being angry. “You sure about that? Do you want to find out the hard way?”

“listen, alright, you’re not wrong,” he started, unable to argue her on any point she made, and not wanting to even if he could. to a lot of people, augustus was a complicated man, but to a few he really and truly cared about, he usually made it pretty simple (if annoying): he didn’t lie to you, he loved being insulted by you, and he’d never walk away from you. so as he heard the real agreement in her voice, to come and keep him in check, the grin grew out of control, and he pumped his fist shamelessly, and it wasn’t just because she agreed to stay with him - it was more that he was going to be able to see her consistently, that she’d stay for a while, period. he’d missed her company, and there wasn’t a better time for her to come and slap common sense into him. “yes!” he laughed, then shook his head, “and now we’re getting extra drunk to celebrate. mm, but no, I doubt she’s changed her mind, I mean, come on. why would she? she still has good taste. although, she has been snuggling with thorfinn, lately.”
***
Faith grinned at Gus as he conceded the point. There was a reason the two of them had stayed friends--other than the simple, he didn’t treat her like a pariah or monster. Their friendship wasn’t complicated, no matter how long it had been since she had shown her face. She snorted as he fist pumped, rolling her eyes. “Merlin, alright alright.” But the grin returned as he mentioned getting drunk to celebrate. “Perfect.” She hummed lightly, rolling her eyes. “I do question her taste if she’s snuggling him. He’s not your flatmate or anything, right?”

@elsaernirdottir
“Elsa.” Faith smiled warmly at the younger wolf. There were many things about her life as a werewolf that Faith would’ve preferred not to have. The family of the pack, however, was not one. Elsa was not one. “It’s good to see you again. Everything going well?”

Faith wasn’t exactly sure what she’d done to catch the eye and ire of one Thorfinn Rowle, but she rolled her eyes as he yelled. Perfect. Just what she wanted. “Cut what off exactly, Rowle? How about your obnoxious yelling? I could cut that off for you quite easily.”
@beforedawnstarters
“is this country suddenly devoid of talanted seekers? all the try outs were utter shit and the game is in two weeks–“ thorfinn suddenly cut off mid-rant, due to the current display in front of him catching his attention. ”look at this fucking idiot –“ he scoffed. it didn’t take long for the rowle to lose his temper; he’d been on edge all day, too. perhaps he just wanted to punch something and cool off, as if asking for a fight. “oi, knobhead! yeah, you. cut it off.“

“well it’s a good thing i’m not prone to abandonment issues,” she says, a roll to her eyes indicating that she wasn’t that serious. she had been worried. very worried, but they could never be mad. they could never blame their sister for the way things went, for escaping when she needed to, for needing some time to herself. love would, too, if put in that situation. “i’m still at home,” she says awkwardly. “how long are you staying? with who?” her voice lowers. “it doesn’t matter where you were, but are you safe?”
“You know I’ll always come back for you right?” Faith said, serious suddenly. Love might be joking, but she wasn’t. She wouldn’t abandon them, even if she had to be away a lot more now. The pack... It was complicated. Most wix didn’t want werewolves around, and unfortunately for Faith it hadn’t exactly been kept private what she was. “How are they?” she asked after a moment’s silence, referring to their parents. Faith was... hesitant to ask really. “With Augustus Rookwood. He offered me a place to crash while I’m here.”

the more creative the insult, the more he liked it, and that hadn’t changed over the years. the years hadn’t changed the way he felt about faith, either, even in her absence, so this answer disappointed him, even if the smile was nice to see. “sounds like i’d see more of you if you stayed at mine, and i’m a workaholic,” he said, laughing. “yeah, yeah, gooey center, I know. but it’s my best kept secret, so keep keeping that one to yourself. i do mean that, though,” he adds, folding his arms over the table as another chuckle escapes him. “i’ve uh.. upgraded the flat pretty obscenely without you here to keep my ego in check, so it’s massive now, plenty of room. still have lucy, but she still likes you last I checked.”
Faith chuckled, figuring that Augustus was joking. “I mean, probably. But only because then you’d actually see me when you came home from work. Not my fault you work too much.” But when he clarified, offering her a place to stay... Faith paused. It was tempting, really. She wouldn’t have to worry about people ‘finding out’ who or what she was. She wouldn’t have to keep moving every month to avoid it. “Well, I guess someone’s gotta keep your ego in check then,” she said finally. Despite her dry response, she was touched. Her parents had practically kicked her out, only her sibling staying in touch, but Gus was willing to house her after all this time. “Lucy has good taste. But are you sure she won’t change her mind now? I think a couple things have... changed since she saw me last.”

Faith smiled, coming around to take the seat across from Love. “Gotta make people jump when you’re the big bad monster, right?” She reached across to take the lemonade from her sibling, sipping it. “But you wouldn’t. Not quick enough.”
Love rolls her eyes. Faith had to know she didn’t see her like that, right? “You’re no more threatening than the ghosts at Hogwarts.” She considers taking her lemonade back, but instead chews on another chip, internally calling it a lost cause. “Where have you been? I haven’t heard from you in ages, you’ve not answered my owls, some even went undelivered. You can’t just,” she waves her arms around in an exasperated gesture, “show up. And drink my lemonade, as if you haven’t been gone.”
“Oh please, I’ve always been more threatening than them. What’s a ghost going to do?” She passes back the lemonade after stealing one last sip, taking a chip now. “I, uh, I’ve not exactly been reachable. Sorry.” It was hard to explain, at least to Love. How her life felt so different now, and like she had to let go of her past. But not Love. Never them. “But I’m back now. I’m staying in London.”

.. his amusement only grows under the weight of her charm, and it’s clear in the cheeky grin still plastered across his face. “you shouldn’t have stayed gone so long, i’ve missed this. you really know the way to a man’s heart,” he teases, but at her answer, he nods, reminding himself of the circumstances at hand. “nope, can’t have that at all, ‘specially not when i’ve been sappy and said I missed you. ew.” his smile, softer now, reappears. “right, so you’re sticking around a while, then? where are you staying? gotta know right where to go when I need my ego deflated.”
***
“The way to your heart seems to be through insults, like a weirdo,” Faith replied with a snort. She didn’t comment on how long she’d been away, not really wanting to get into pack life, even with him. There were some things she wanted to keep to herself. “Mm, you’re in it now. I know you have a heart under all that sarcasm.” And that smile, softer despite it all. Faith smiled back. “A while, yeah. Until I’m told otherwise. Oh, here and there. I’m sure you’ll be able to find me if you want.”

“ i wasn’t. ” remus is quick to come to his own defence, because he hadn’t been staring, at least to his own knowledge. from what he knew of faith nott, he’d never intentionally do anything to draw her attention is way. “ i don’t want anything. not from you. i’m just waiting for someone. ”
Remus Lupin. Faith knew who he was, had been told about him by Fenrir. A missing wolf in the pack leader’s eyes, someone he wished to reclaim. Faith wasn’t about to do anything dramatic in the middle of Diagon Alley without any kind of backup or plan, but she was fascinated by him. “Not from me, huh? You’re not curious in the slightest?”

❛ did you not hear her ? ❜ amycus spoke a little louder, his tone a little deeper. ❛ leave her alone, or spit it out. ❜ amycus knew faith probably had a higher authority over whoever was bothering her, but he was impatient and somehow more bothered. eventually, the other scurried off and amycus turned to faith with a satisfied look on his face. ❛ now, where were we ? ❜
Faith stared the other down until they finally left, turning her attention back to Amycus with an eyeroll. Lighting a cigarette, she offered one to him as she took a deep breath in. “Nowhere in particular. Updates on what I missed?”

Love sips her lemonade and puts it down, wrinkling her nose at the taste. Not sweet enough. She’s about to put more sugar in when she feels a hand on her shoulder and she jumps, anxiety filling her until she hears the familiar voice. “Faith?” she says, her eyes widening in both shock and elation. The smile that covers her face is electric, the excitement of seeing her older sister not having lost its intensity even after this long. “Hasn’t anyone told you not to sneak up on people like that? I could’ve hexed you!”
Faith smiled, coming around to take the seat across from Love. “Gotta make people jump when you’re the big bad monster, right?” She reached across to take the lemonade from her sibling, sipping it. “But you wouldn’t. Not quick enough.”

“oh, don’t tease me now. I might get the wrong idea and think you actually enjoy our friendship,” he teased back, wrinkling his nose at her. leaning back in his seat, he settled in, getting comfortable. “good thing i’m not an idiot then, eh? and that I wasn’t staring.” he laughed, but a beat later, his voice was slightly more serious. “honestly, though, you were mean enough to scare people off with simply a look before, so why’s it bothering you now that you’re back?”
***
“Oh Merlin, don’t start.” Faith rolled her eyes, shaking her head. Despite her tone though, she did enjoy her friendship with Augustus. Not that she’d ever tell him. “Debatable, hm?” she teased. As he got more serious, she dropped her smile with a shrug. “Just can’t be bothered with it today. Last thing I need when I’ve just arrived is anyone trying to run me out.”

“Hello, Cassian.” Faith was unsure of how her cousin would react to her presence, but he needn’t worry. She wasn’t sticking around here too long. “Been busy?”

Three years out of the public’s eye entirely did wonders for one’s ability to not be recognised. Faith was using that to her advantage as she slipped into the Three Broomsticks, intending on just grabbing a Butterbeer before taking off. But one patron caught her eye and she couldn’t resist. Walking up behind Love, she puts a hand on their chair. “Boo.”
@beforedawnstarters
So apparently the way to make friends after your schooldays is to frequently occupy a place. That’s how Love finds themself at the Three Broomsticks, avoiding eye contact with the students who definitely recognize them, picking away at a plate of chips and sipping a tall lemonade. She supposes she could get a head start on lesson plans for the year, but she doesn’t really want to be the person who works during their summer holidays. So, instead, she sits and sighs and waits for anyone to engage in conversation.

@mclfoyss
“You still aiming to play professionally, Lucy?” Faith asked as Lucius’ broom touched down onto the empty pitch. She’d watched him flying, jealousy in the pit of her stomach. Merlin, she missed it. The feeling of freedom, of the wind in her hair. The crowds and the family that had come with playing for the Wasps. All of it long gone for her now. A distant memory, brought back as she watched how naturally Lucius flew. It had been a while since she’d seen him, and she wasn’t sure how he’d react to his werewolf cousin, but she couldn’t resist.

gzcbini:
a slow blink met the others words, a subtle roll of their eyes that giovanna couldn't quite be bothered to attempt to hide. “ are you quite finished ? ” they asked after a moments pause, expression showing that she was expectant of an answer. they certainly weren't going to engage in what seemed to be a bit of an unwarranted temper tantrum. “ or would you like a moment ? ”
Faith didn’t care about the rolling of their eyes. Honestly, it was probably the best reaction she could’ve gotten, all things considered. Three years, thankfully, had passed gossip out of people’s thoughts. When she had first been outed as a werewolf though? It had been hell to be in London at all. “No, I’m about done,” she replied. “But you didn’t answer the question, Giovanna. What do you want?”
