“God winks” are seemingly little things that happen throughout your day which are used for God to say, “hey! I’m here. I’m with you, I see you. I love you.” This song was stuck in my head all day yesterday, for I don’t know what reason. I listened to it and ended up crying last night, the lyrics becoming a cry out in prayer for God to reveal Himself because I need him.
At my meeting early this morning, I sit down on a couch, and right across from me on the coffee table is a mug that says, “In the morning when I rise, give me Jesus.” Total God wink. Thanks, Jesus.

I felt like I spent all of yesterday solely being functional & not at all intentional. By the end of the day, I felt empty & defeated even though I finished all the things I told myself I needed to get done. Apparently, a big part of my emotional health is making sure I get enough human interaction a day. And I mean real interaction. Sitting down with them, talking things through, having a dialogue. I was so focused on completing that day’s checklist, I spent that whole day barely uttering a word to my housemates, which is rare.
God made us to be humans, not machines. We don’t just crave interaction - we need it. I need it. One of the best ways God shows himself to me is through His people, I know this. But I’m so good at forgetting - especially when I’m too focused on being as “productive” as possible.
I asked God to show Himself to me. And when we ask, God gives abundantly, wholely, & so intentionally. Fast forward to today. Starting with a 7am meeting in a cozy living room and discipleship, to engaging conversations in my classes and with a loving partner, ending with a huge birthday dinner and unwinding back home with pals. This is fullness. This is a win. Thank you, Jesus

“But now thus says the Lord, he who created you, O Jacob, he who formed you, O Israel: "Fear not, for I have redeemed you; I have called you by name, you are mine. When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and through the rivers, they shall not overwhelm you; when you walk through fire you shall not be burned, and the flame shall not consume you. For I am the Lord your God, the Holy One of Israel, your Savior. I give Egypt as your ransom, Cush and Seba in exchange for you. Because you are precious in my eyes, and honored, and I love you, I give men in return for you, peoples in exchange for your life. Fear not, for I am with you; I will bring your offspring from the east, and from the west I will gather you. I will say to the north, Give up, and to the south, Do not withhold; bring my sons from afar and my daughters from the end of the earth, everyone who is called by my name, whom I created for my glory, whom I formed and made."”
‭‭Isaiah‬ ‭43:1-7‬ ‭ESV‬‬

“Because the truth is, there is no beauty in our mess until we expose it to our Maker, and when Jesus looks at dirt, He always sees destiny.”

words that kept me up
A love so intentional, so relentless
Persistent, wild and captivating
It seems reckless but it isn’t.
It’s true and honorable
Beautiful and sacred
And it’s mine.

I must admit, the days have been hard. My heart has been aching, I have cried, I have felt lonely.
And yet…even though the weight on my chest feels heavy, I can feel it. I can feel it coming-rising and rising. Light. Hope. Love. I can smile. I am loved. I am so, so loved. I am never alone. God’s love washes over me. Wave after wave. That’s what it does. That’s what He does. Even when things feel lonely, heavy, scary or dark. Even when things feel like they’re crashing down all around you. There is still reason to sing, to hope, to rejoice.
We’re never alone in this world. There is a strength and a love unstoppable. It’s God. He’s coming-His love, His light, His mercy-it’s all coming. It’s rushing in. The darkness cannot stay. The light is coming, as surely as the sun rises. There is reason to hope. Rejoice. Smile. Laugh.
God is with you.
