another little known fact about me: i idolized @levar.burton growing up. he played the genius geordi la forge on star trek AND read about some fly shit on reading rainbow, at a time when my future was only either going to be in martial arts or as a lawyer/doctor/engineer (spoiler alert - that didn't pan out). i didn't know it at the time, but levar was my introduction into the concept of afrofuturism, something that i'm glad is gaining a lot of traction as of late. decades later when this shirt dropped by @bloomfield.works, ALL the childhood feels came up and i purchased expeditiously. when i was still a kid, i was actually able to meet levar at a gold's gym of all places. levar greeted me warmly, and was ever humble and lowkey. in a one minute conversation, he made me believe i really could be something different than what my asian family and ancestors had predetermined for me. you know how some folks say never meet your heroes? well, peace to levar for disproving that statement. isolation diaries, vol 1 (fuck covid): 1. pulled off a manicure for kennedy and nailed that shit. had to break out the tweezers and headlamp for it though. 2. day trip to the park turned into a lake trip due to flooding. naturally kenroc thought it necessary to see if she could scooter through it. 3. house progress. flooring is looking lovely, but we just hit a setback. still, i get excited every time i check on the home. 4. mac getting his cliffhanger on while on lockdown with @infamylives. he ain't get that upper body strength from me. 5. 2022 mood 6 days into the year. stay safe everyone. i hope 2022 has better things in store for you.
