A very, very sweet little confession fic. Ink struggles to put a name to the emotions that he feels towards Dream. The prose of this fic is downright poetic - I find myself returning to the description often. Gorgeous. The writing is simply gorgeous.

I feel weird recommending my own fics, so I'll keep it to one per category. If you like drink, I do suggest taking a look at my profile - I've written 15 dream/ink fics, and I am in the process of writing more (no sign of stopping lol).

anyway. Ink suffers from a misdosage of his vials, and is able to regulate himself by baking bread with Dream. They're cute <3.

Ink struggles with forgetting. Okay, this one is a little angsty - but it is absolutely still a worthy read. The characterization is delectable and the banter even more so. Dream and Ink's closeness is shown by their willingness to be vulnerable, and a little curt, with each other.

This fic follows Dream as he struggles to celebrate his birthday without Nightmare. Dream/Ink is background in this fic, but I still think it's a worthy read. They're very sweet to each other <3.

Ink considers the art of poetry. This is a fic where you kinda just have to read it, to understand. And please, I beg of you, read it.

Dream doesn't know what to do with himself when he's faced with a rare day off. Ink is there to comfort him, Ink is there to comfort him (while still being Ink). Again, as with duskfel's previous fic on this list - their characterization is just.... ough. so so good. tasty.

A modern human fic set in 1990-something on the breezy seaside of Britain. Dream is suffering from the recent loss of his brother, while Ink suffers from his slowly worsening health. Despite all odds, they find themselves as fast friends. Ough. This fic... go read it.

Meet Me Halfway by Honey_Malt - 17.9k, 3/3 chapters, rated G

Ink finds himself a struggling single father after a fight with his best friend, Dream. The catch - Dream doesn't even know that they're parents! Ink has to learn how to be a father, while fumbling to make things right with Dream (and drop the news of oops... parenthood!) Very sweet. A sequel which follows Dream's pov is in the works.

Dream and Ink and what they mean to each other are at the very heart of this fic.

Anyways you're 100% correct, Error Sansed too close to the sun.

lowkey I don't get why people say Error isn't "Sans-like" whatever that means, because it's just not true.

Error is Sans on steroids. Error is Sans². Error is Sans to the power of Sans.

Like literally everything they do is something Sans does, just incredibly warped and taken to an extreme.

Sans is nihilistic in the sense that he's like "nothing matters, so why should I do anything". Error is SO nihilistic that they've gone beyond that and are like "NOTHING MATTERS SO I SHOULD JUST DESTROY THE ENTIRE MULTIVERSE BECAUSE WHO CARES WHAT'S STOPPING ME?!"

Sans is a judge. Error is Light Yagami in fat weird middle aged skeleton form.

Sans has kinda a sick sense of humor (like he likes to mess with people yk). Error thinks literally torturing people is funny.

Sans loves Papyrus to the point of being willing to kill for him. Error loves Papyrus to the point they're willing to kill HIM and literally everyone else in existence just to "protect" him.

Sans is super observant and picks up on things most people don't, to the point he convinced the entire fandom he remembers resets because of how good at guessing he is. Error is incredibly paranoid and not only notices small things other people don't, but notices things that aren't even there.

Sans plays a sort of comic relief silly guy persona to cope. Error has been playing that persona for so long to cope with their honestly horrible reality, that they've forgotten it was a persona in the first place and now treat their whole existence like one really long joke.

Sans has eldritch madness. Error is eldritch madness personified.

Sans is kinda implied to be depressed. Error got SO depressed that they gave up on everything, INCLUDING being depressed and has been carrying out what is essentially the longest most elaborate suicide plan ever for the past few years.

Sans has a lot of acquaintances, but only like 1-2 close friends. Error is literally completely isolated.

So yeah. Error is the most "Sans" Sans in like the worst way possible.

Honestly I feel like when people say that they're thinking of fanon tsundere/shadow the hedgehog Error, rather than "canon" Error.

I hate that take so much because it treats him like him being aroace is indicative of him being flawed or broken or lacking in some way. As if it's not entirely normal and acceptable. Aro/ace people aren't tragic or sad because they can't have a partner, they just aren't interested in having one. And that's fine and normal and should be respected.

But this fandom loves to villainize Ink for a factor entirely out of his control, so. What can you do.

I hate when people talk about ink's sexuality bc they never get it right- like, "ink is unable to be in a romantic relationship cuz he doesn't have a soul!"

Dude i just saw a vídeo where they said "ink is aroace because he doesn't have a vial for love" NO, HE IS AROACE BC IT IS A SEXUALITY LIKE 😭

If we talk about other characters being aroace it's always seen as just a sexuality, but if we talk about Ink being aroace they just see him as someone who doesn't feel love for anything or anyone because his feelings are fake and blah blah blah

And they never notice that there are other types of love, like how Ink loves his family, or loves the au's and the creators or artists, he just doesn't have partners because of his morals(? How he sees the rest as characters and besides thinking that he shouldn't get involved with other people in such a personal way, and also because IT'S A SEXUALITY, HE IS PART OF THE LGBT+ COMMUNITY Now it turns out that the aroace people are heartless emos who don't love anyone? 🥀

Since Ink can canonically create everything (with the exception of dead people) and shows a basic logic of chemistry and the periodic table, imagine him fighting someone and he just creates and combines uranium with arsenic in order to create the craziest nuclear bomb on the multiverse. And like, tf is the enemy going to do agaisnt that.

Dream seeing someone try and eat an apple and resisting the primal urge to slap it out of their hand because it's just so ingrained in him to stop people from eating the apples that it just carries over to the regular fruit bc they look similar enough, even worse if the apple is a golden delicious or something.

It's just been imbedded into his subconscious, the panicky instinctual thought of don't let them eat that fruit despite knowing full well regular apples are a thing

Sometimes he actually does slap it out of their hand only to realize what he's done a moment later and profusely apologize

Imagine if Nightmare had the same buried instinct
