Going to say it right now, if the Yu-gi-oh people played Pokémon TCG instead of Duel Monsters, Yami would have the card 'Sacred Ash' in his deck which allows the player to shuffle five Pokémon from the discard pile back into your deck. (I did a play with that one that got me my ace back and win the game in a very Yami fashion.)

see that's the thing, i tried to get into the pokemon tcg but it just didn't scratch the itch for me. The cards just don't get nearly ridiculous enough for my liking. Shuffling 5 cards back into my deck hits like a lukewarm cup of gatorade on a 99°F day. Tangy and intense in the right context sure, but give me something to fist fight somebody over.

then again i am a certified pendulum apologist so maybe my judgement is poor

Hello dear followers! Thank you all so much for sticking with us through the summer. The Production schedule desperately needs an update, so here it is:

Pre-orders will open Sept. 1st and will close Sept. 30th. Website TBD. Physical item orders will be made after Sept. 30th, and as we receive them, preview pictures will be shared! Ideally, we will receive all items by Oct. 31st. Our lead is based in the USA so we must be patient with shipping.

Once we start receiving physical items, bundles will begin to be fulfilled. Our hopeful date for this is by November 30th. Again, this is *heavily* dependent on shipping in/to the USA.

Finally, if everything goes our way, we should start to get physical bundles shipped by Dec. 31st!

Digital bundles will be emailed once all physical bundles have been shipped, this way those who purchased physical editions can avoid spoilers for as long as possible.

Re: the YGO card names thing, Magic the Gathering is very strict about card-name length and how much they're allowed to squeeze and cram the text in. But they're less strict for the translations since sometimes the best way to translate a card name ends up quite long.

So for YGO's case it very much looks like...

JP Designer: Hey this Kanji compound is cool, right? And it fits pretty comfortably into the name-box. Alright, ship it.

EN Translator: [sobbing as he sets the text to 60% width once more]

I figured as much. every time i see any magic card I think to myself "this card's name could be way stupider and sexier if they weren't cowards about it"

That's why i love ygo. no hesitation. no shame. cram those words in there babygirl don't worry about the font getting hydraulic pressed. I think they should keep making the card names even longer, screw length limits. Just like how i think they should make link pendulums a thing
