Journal Entry-
Its official. My mom has known about the baby for awhile now. I mean, that's minor compared to the complete inner turmoil that I'm dealing with right now.
Keep the baby...or don't keep the baby.
I'm about a month along now, thank sweet Jesus I'm not showing yet. I've still got a while to go though before that.
So far...there really hasn't been any 'symptoms' of my pregnancy. At the moment, all that I have to show for is a positive pregnancy test, and my many trips to the bathroom. I swear my bladder has shrunk,
I haven't really told anyone else yet. But I swear I will...soon.

What do you think it takes to be a symbol of justice?
A--what now?
A symbol of justice? Like...-smirks a bit- an Icon?
Hm, I dunno. You gotta be admirable, brave, just, loyal, and trustworthy I guess.

Cut school today. First time I’ve ever done that. On the other hand, it’s the first time I’ve ever considered abortion. Abortion is such a neutral word. There’s no feeling in it. A month ago I wouldn’t have believed I’d even consider it. But it’s different when it happens to you. I can’t take care of a baby. Can’t afford it. My mother works two jobs and goes to school and she’s always tired… I can’t even afford the medical to have a baby. Hell, I can’t really afford this visit. Even if I put her up for adoption, little black babies don’t get adopted,

Journal Entry-
Today, Miss M and I helped Zatanna move into her new apartment in Manhattan. The whole 'moving' thing came as a bit of a surprise...she wouldn't exactly reveal the full truth as to why she was moving. That is, until she broke down in her new apartment.
Turns out, her and 'Wing broke up. I had half a mind to march right to him and personally break his nose. Miss M was on the verge of restraining me. She was really torn up about it. Seein' her like that hurt my heart. I was...I was planning on telling the two of them that...that I was pregnant.
But I didn't.
Instead, we had a nice afternoon watching movies together. And that was perfectly fine to me.

If it's a girl you should name it Susie. If it's a boy name it Clark.
Susie? I...I dunno about that one.
And Clark, maybe.
I'll have to give it some time.
I might not even have to worry about names.

A grin spread on Raquel's face. "That sounds fantastic. And I'm sure the little one will appreciate it, too." She patted her stomach lightly as she stood up. "Let's go."
Big Changes
Raquel smiled softly. “You always know what to say. I thought you were gonna be mad at me.” She gave a dry laugh. “Mama’s gonna kill me, you know that? Then’s she’ll go find Noble and prob’ly kill him too, twice even.” Rocket placed a hand on her stomach again. “There’s a baby in there, Augustus. And its mine.” The mere thought of herself becoming a mother was laughable. Raquel could hardly look after herself, let alone a baby. But she just couldn’t hurt it. It was her’s.

"I don't really think she'd actually harm me," Raquel laughed lightly. "But she'll be really disappointed, that's for sure." She looked up at her mentor and smiled. "Thanks, Augustus. You've really helped."
Big Changes
“Every one needs a rest sometimes, and that means heros as well. Whether or not you continue as Rocket, you will forever be a hero in your child’s eyes.” He smiles softly, “You can take all the time in the world and no one will think less of you for that.”

“But…but if I did keep it…so much would change,” Raquel told him. “For one, I’d probably have to resign as Rocket for a while. I can’t be trouncin’ around in maternity size spandex, that’s for sure. And if anything happened to me after I had the baby, the poor thing would be left without parents. Noble won’t want nothing to do with it.”
Augustus was right about one thing, the Team and the League are there for her, too. Though Raquel could hardly imagine telling Kaldur of all people that she was pregnant. Now that would be an uncomfortable conversation.
“I’m just another hapless teenage pregnancy case, aren’t I? Knocked up and dumped by some low life.” She didn’t wanna end the baby’s life…but she sure wasn’t ready to start it either. Raquel pressed her palms against her forehead. This was going to be a huge decision.

“Good. Assault charges are much easier to get out of.” He said quietly before dropping the joke now that she had seemed to come back to herself a little bit.
“Have you forgotten that you are not alone any more, Raquel?” He offered a soft smile as he slowly sat back up. She had many to help her through this; Himself, the League, the Team and, maybe in time, her family. Raquel simply had to get past her own pride and ask for help, and be willing to accept it.
“You have many around you who accept you for who you are; your team, for one. I am willing to help as well, in whatever way I can. Personally, I find it disheartening to hear that you’re even considering not keeping it. I do not believe it is our right to decide who or what lives or dies.” he looks to her meaningfully, “Although, it is ultimately your choice, Raquel. With the hardships you have faced and persevered through, I believe anyone under your care would grow up to be just as strong as you are.”

The edges of her mouth twitched into a small smirk as Raquel turned to face Augustus again. "Noble's the father. And believe me, the way he reacted, I should've kill him. But don't worry, I gave him a black eye for sure."
All humor aside, the two had some serious things to talk about. Now that the weight of telling Augustus had been lifted off her shoulder's, Raquel looked at him with a serious expression. "I dunno if I should keep it. I mean, I know its a...its a child, but I wouldn't be a good mother. I don't wanna raise a child in this kinda place. And money...money, Augustus! Bein' a mom isn't cheap. I don't even have a real job! And the last thing I wanna do is have this baby turn out like one of them!" She pointed outside, thinking of the life she once led.
Raquel placed a shaking hand on her stomach, wondering how a child could be slowly coming to life in there.
Big Changes
There was a quiet tension in the air that he took note of as he led her to the couch. Giving her some space, he sat in the armchair opposite from her and leaned forward, elbows on knees, to give her his full attention. He let her words hang in the air for a moment before nodding slowly. Raquel was strong, something usually reflected from within her, however, right now, and though he had never seen it on the girl’s face, she looked scared. She had never been one to worry over small things, bumps in the road and such. Knowing this, Augustus knew that whatever it was that her nervous, doubting herself, had to be important and he would not make the mistake of taking this lightly.
“I am here, Raquel, and will help in any way I may.” He spoke quietly and as softly as he could, trying to let her know that he was indeed here to listen.

Raquel sat stiffly on the couch, looking earnestly into her mentor's face.
"I'm..." She bit back tears and looked away, not wanting to see the disappointment in his face. "I'm pregnant."
The clock hanging on the wall to the left of her suddenly became very interesting. Raquel fixated her gaze on that, wishing Noble never came back to town.
Her mind wandered back to the moment when she confronted her ex-ex-boyfriend. Most of the conversation was washed away, but she remembered the punch in the face she gave him very well.
Big Changes
Augustus had been working on some case notes for a court hearing in the morning, and he was so focused he hadn’t even changed from his light blue button down shirt and black slacks. The jacket had been forgotten on the back of his chair for a couple hours now, the red tie still firmly in place around his neck when he heard a light knock on the door.
Glancing up at the clock at the sound, he slowly stood and stretched as he made his way to the door. Time has slipped away tonight.. Brows furrowed in curiosity as he saw Raquel standing before him. Long ago the young woman had done away with formalities such as knocking, which could only mean that something was on her mind.
“Hello, Raquel.” He said simply, taking in her nervous behavior as she shifted her weight back and forth and was only able to half stutter a greeting, “Would you like to come in? I have coffee and orange juice, as usual.” Standing back to hold the door open for her to come inside, he offered a small smile, hoping to comfort her though he did not know what she nervous about.
