prompt list #3 (winter/christmas edition)
“Hey, it’s snowing outside.”
“God, you’re shivering so much— just take my jacket.”
“Don’t you dare throw that snowball.”
“Let’s cuddle to stay warm.”
“I made you hot chocolate, with marshmallows, of course.”
“I got you a present.”
“You’ve never seen snow before?”
“I swear I didn’t plan this, but… we’re under the mistletoe right now.”
“Come sit by the fireplace with me.”
“Help me wrap up these presents.”
“Let’s bake cookies!”
“If I freeze to death, I’m blaming you.”
“Just hold my hand, I won’t let you slip.”
“I guess we’re stuck here until the snow dies down.”
“So, are you going to be my New Year’s kiss?”
“My snowman looks better than yours.”
“If you play one more Christmas song, I’m going to smash my head through the wall.”
“We need to go buy a Christmas tree.”
“I’m not telling you what your gift is, you’re going to have to wait until Christmas!”
“Do I smell burning?”
“By the way, I might’ve told everyone that you’re my date because I didn’t want to go to this Christmas party alone.”
“Oh, we definitely have to go ice skating now that I know you’ve never done it before!”
“Come decorate the Christmas tree!”
“Oh no, we need to go emergency gift shopping right now!”
“I’ve never seen such an ugly sweater before. I love it.”
“Uh, surprise! I’m your Secret Santa.”
“You’re going to be home for the holidays, right?”
“Our gingerbread house is falling apart!”
“Oh, I need a lot more wine to get me through this dinner.”
“Ugh, I’ve caught a cold.”
“I have about thirty more Christmas cards to write and I’m nowhere near finished.”
“You can’t go outside in this weather.”
“I swear, I’ve never met anyone as festive as you.”
“God, is our first kiss really going to be under the mistletoe?”
“Dinner is supposed to start in twenty minutes and I’ve burned half the food and don’t have time to cook the rest.”
“I’m freezing my ass off.”
“I promise you, my parents are delighted to have you over for the holidays, and they’re so excited to meet you.”
“I need another blanket.”
“Your hands are so cold.”
“Our gingerbread men look like gingerbread blobs.”
“Exactly how many candy canes have you eaten?”
“You’re lucky I love you, or else I would kill you for spilling hot chocolate all over my favorite sweater.”
“Surprise! I’m your Christmas gift.”
“Do you want some tea?”
“Is that my scarf?”
“You’ve had some brilliant ideas in the past, but driving through a snowstorm only to get stuck on the road has truly been your best idea.”
“Let’s frost the cookies!”
“I hate the cold so much.”
“Do we really need another box of sparkly, glittery ornaments?”
“Best Christmas ever.”
“Who knew you were actually a decent baker?”
“I didn’t think it was possible for someone to suck so badly at gift wrapping, but here you are.”
“You can’t tell them Santa’s not real!”
“I hate Christma—” “Don’t you dare finish that sentence.”
“Let’s just stay in here, where it’s warm.”
“Please just come to this New Year’s party with me.”
“Look! Fireworks!”
“You look adorable covered in snow.”
“I bet I’m a faster ice skater than you.”
“I kind of got too drunk at this New Year’s party and I need you to pick me up.”
“That is the most hideous sweater I’ve ever seen, and yet, somehow, you’re pulling it off.”
“It’s our first holiday together.”
“I got matching sweaters for us and the cat!”
“I’m still mad at you, but I’m going to ignore our argument just for today since it’s Christmas.”
“How could you not tell me your parents are coming over today?!”
“I told you to wear a bigger jacket.”
“Hey, careful, you’re going to slip!”
“You just saved Christmas.”
“How did you manage to get tangled in the lights?”
“Please don’t tell me you’re going out wearing the tinsel like a scarf.”
“I’m glad I get to spend the holidays with you.”
“Fuck it, a new year is about to start, and I can’t go another year hiding this from you — I love you.”
“Hey, you were the one who insisted on throwing a Christmas party, even when I told you it’d be a nightmare to plan!”
“Can you help me put the star on top of the tree?”
“If I fall, I’m dragging you down with me.”
“Your snow angel looks deformed.”
“I suck at giving gifts, but… I hope you still like it.”
“We’re totally putting this picture on the Christmas cards.”
“Did you spike our hot chocolate?”
“It’s New Year’s. Of course I’m drunk.”
“I got us matching Christmas socks.”
“Please tell me you kept the dog in the other room, away from the presents.”
“Hey, you started this snowball fight, and now I have to finish it.”
“We need a bigger tree!”
“Yeah, I’ve never made a pie before, but how hard can it be?”
“How are you not cold?!”
“I know it’s cliché but… all I want for Christmas is you.”
“I usually hate the holiday season, but it’s a little more bearable with you.”
“Are you still mad because I ate the last cookie?”
“Winter is the best season.” “I beg to differ.”
“Please just dress up as Santa for the kids.”
“I’m telling you, going down this snowy hill on your makeshift sleigh is a bad idea.”
“I wish you could be here to celebrate with us.”
“Oh, you’re so warm, don’t ever let go of me.”
“It’s supposed to be the most wonderful time of the year!”
“I refuse to go outside, it’s like the North Pole out there!”
“I was hoping I’d see you at this party.”
“Just step a little closer to me… to your left… woah! Would you look at that, we’re under the mistletoe, what a complete and utter coincidence!”
“I will treasure this gift forever.”
“Happy New Year, baby. I can’t wait to spend another year with you.”

We need you and your stories to survive this hard times 🥺 I’m so down now.
Hoping you are doing great 👍🏼
Hey sweet anon (and readers)!
I completely share your sadness and frustration but I've decided to move on from the show a couple of weeks ago. I'll probably disappear from Tumblr for a couple of weeks too that's why I am making a long answer.
I deactivated my Twitter account and hide all suggestions Riverdale-related because I can't deal with this show anymore. I don't know if it's our fault for not learning to let go when we had the occasion (4x17- 5x05 etc) or if it's our mistake for believing the show was ultimately trying to tell a story that would make sense.
Nevertheless, the writers made the point (for the umpteenth time if we had to be honest) to remind us they didn't want to tell a story at all. It looks more like a cartoon whose all over the place with rushed episodes that only serve shock value and a microwave- badly heated misogynistic love triangle they promised they won't go for.
I am not going to say more on this shit-show as you're not here for that (although I'll say VA were definitely not fwb- you don't decide to move in with your fwb, make babies and have family dinners).
Ultimately it's just a show and you have the possibility and right to exit and not attend this lousy romantic ping pong.
As for my fanfiction:
First, I am so sorry. I feel terrible for not updating although I promised I would. I have like 5k on my draft and It was honestly my intention. Then over the summer, I had pandemic-related issues and a major writer's block.
I always have a thousand ideas of new fictions, drabbles and scenes for Archie and Ronnie but I simply don't have time. And to be honest, I don't think I am going to be free anytime soon.
I am actually living one of my favorite Veronica headcanon life (check monicaposh) as a senior law graduate, preparing for the bar exam and thriving at a law firm. Except fanfiction life is always easier and funnier, which brings me to my last point : Go read and reread the amazing fanfictions we have on ao3.
If you'd like to, you could also try to write or paint or draw or edits or make gifs for Varchie. I think all varchies would support you and I don't think I speak for myself when I say all VA content is loved and appreciated.
Finally, I promise I am not abandoning Raven Bird. I'll come back eventually.
All love for my varchie mutuals.
Stay safe.

Reblogging this cause I couldn't have said it any better.
things to think about:
1. i'm not gonna watch this clusterfuck of last stretch of episodes and rivervale because this show not only is giving nothing, it's also fucking up what it's giving.
2. there was a very very clear setup until 517 and then it took a 180 turn for EVERYONE in the club in 518 so that says something. it's not just varchie in this club. it's bughead, choni, kangs, "we're not in highschool anymore" mhm.
3. veronica was highly ooc, what she said about archie and her relationship with him was highly ooc, and they made it that way so it can backtrack at any moment imo.
4. i still have a lot of faith in varchie endgame but im not gonna sit around and watch this mess. it's tiring af and they're only ruining the characters i love so much.
5. and because i love them so much, no, im not gonna stop writing for varchie or stop loving them or stop shipping them no matter what.
come on varchie, stay away from them, we'll be back soon.

“Babe!” A sweet and giddy voice babbles.
Jughead rolls his eyes at the excitement of his 18-month-old daughter - yes, he was one of the guys who always complained about kids’ age in months but in his new role as a dad, he gets it. There’s a difference between months because babies grow incredibly fast and one day you’re trying to make them stop crying and the next they are crawling and munching on the plug of his laptop’s charger.
But this time, Agatha is not exactly looking at herself in the mirror or having a friend over for that essential (and horrific) experience of playtime - he cannot say it enough but he only stands his child and he will not witness the stupidity of another kid shoving legos up their noses.
Aggie has just spotted Jughead’s childhood best friend, Archie. Of course, he’s accompanied by his wife, Veronica, who looks thrilled to hear the child's voice.
“‘onnie!” Aggie adds with a big smile as Veronica joins her on the floor.
“Hello, darling,” Veronica coos and starts tickling Aggie’s sides making her squirm and laugh.
Meanwhile, Archie is already blushing.
“Jug-“ he attempts as apologetically as possible. Everyone knows this is not his fault. Aggie keeps mimicking Veronica and after one weekend with her godparents, she decided that calling Archie babe was the best thing in the world.
“Babe! Up-up!” Aggie demands, lifting her arms so Archie picks her up.
Jughead snorts a laugh when Archie shakes his head.
“Babe,” Veronica pouts, copying the baby, and Archie rolls his eyes. “Pick her up. You are her favorite.”
“Everyone needs to stop calling me that.” Archie gets on the floor and repeats his name like when they were toddlers trying to spell their names.
“But babe!” Jughead teases and Veronica chuckles. This earns him a glare from everyone’s favorite redhead.
Aggie though decides to soothe Archie’s worries by placing her chubby hands on Archie’s face and shaking her head. “No mad, babe?”
“I can’t win, can I?” Archie’s rhetorical question is met with a bout of laughter from Aggie and those adorable kissing sounds she makes because her mom spends too much time trying to prove a Jones can be lovable and sweet.
Jughead sweeps his hair to the side while sipping his third coffee of the day, watching as Veronica sits next to Archie and they both play cool auntie and uncle, spoiling Aggie to no end.
“Get your own kid,” he has said jokingly before, and even if Archie gets the gleam in his eyes, the couple agreed to wait a bit more. Veronica has never said no, but she hasn’t said yes either. It's a running joke she's taking notes about what not to do after witnessing Aggie growing up.
But it's funny. While Archie's friendly deameanor might seem the obvious choice for a child, Veronica steals the spotlight with her expressive gestures and calm voice – she had the touch when Aggie was a colicky baby.
"We're getting a puppy," Archie says later when they are feeding Aggie – more like making a Jackson Pollock with apple sauce.
"You're not getting a puppy," Jughead replies, glaring at Veronica who chuckles. "You're not."
"We are," Veronica confirms. "It's a cute little fur ball. Sweet, friendly, a bit goofy."
"You have Archie," Jughead quips, while Aggie shakes her arms giggling.
"Ha-ha." Archie leans against Veronica, wrapping an arm around her shoulders in a gesture that makes Jughead think they are working on something more. He'll figure it out later.
"You're trying to make my child like you more than me."
"Maybe," Veronica jokes.
"She already does!" Archie exclaims. "Right, Aggie?"
"Babe!" Aggie shouts, delighted when Archie takes the spoon from Jughead's hands and gives it to her. She obviously takes all the food without effort now.
"May I hire you as a babysitter?" Jughead wonders. "I think it's one of the few jobs you haven't added to your list yet."
"You can't afford me, Jug. I'm a kept-man, devoted to my wife. The only job I haven't been fired from."
"Yet."
"Shut up."
Veronica laughs but decides their antics are too much. She takes Aggie to clean up and change, look cute for when mom gets home from work.
"A dog, huh?" Jughead asks as he washes his cup and Aggie's bowl.
Archie smiles. "Baby steps."
So there's a plan. There's always a plan.

Veronica always thought it would happen, knew it would happen. In her mind it was on a beach in Tuscany, or a rooftop in Brussels. She’d be wearing a carefully selected dress with some impeccable makeup look on, and it would be something she was expecting but be totally surprised at the same time, of course.
And he would ask, and she’d speak back, and then they’d have one of those movie kisses where the lighting’s perfect and time just stops.
But when it really happened, just like when she first met him, she didn’t see it coming and she wasn’t prepared at all.
It was a Sunday morning, she was barely awake and was reading the paper at their kitchen island, coffee in hand. Archie wasn’t up yet, she usually wakes up first anyways. She had a long day ahead of her, always feeling the need to prep her week and get stuff done even on the weekends.
The stocks in her line of work have been particularly up and down lately which brings in its own set of issues and graces but she’ll deal with it. That’s what she was thinking about, until she felt him come up behind her, like he usually does.
Hugging her tight from behind and kissing her head, she smiles, ready to greet him in her usual flirty way, but her mind goes blank when he places a small velvet box on the counter in front of her.
And just like that she sees so many things in her mind. She sees his smile and how it takes over his entire face like it always has, she sees how his body holds her little one so perfectly, she sees how everything lights up when he’s around.
She sees all the constants, all the things she’s noticed happening ever since he stepped into her life. Things from when they were teenagers to now when they’re adults. How even when she was scared to tell him, she falls in love with him more everyday.
Unable to speak, he slowly spins her stool around so she’s facing him.
“Archie…”
“C’mon,” he takes her hands now and helps her to her feet before kneeling in front of her and kissing her hands.
“I’ve told you this before, but Ronnie when I met you, you were it for me. It was the beginning of something I couldn’t comprehend and the end of me living without someone I didn’t know I was looking for.”
She chews the inside of her lips, just a mess of emotions. She wants to hear what he has to say but she also doesn’t, because she knows what he’s going to ask and she already knows what she’s going to say.
“You’re my other half. My partner. I love you. You make me feel like things are going to get better even when it seems like they won’t. I need you in my life, and I’ve known it for a long time, but I don’t want to go any longer without making it official.”
They’ve talked about this before, but it’s all so different, so real, when he reaches up to grab the little box and open the lid, presenting her with a ring that wasn’t in her daydream, but is so much better.
“Veronica Cecilia Lodge, Ronnie, babe,” he chuckles, making her laugh softly. “Will you marry me?”
She can’t breathe, and she’s crying, and she’s slightly annoyed this is happening when they’re in their pajamas and she has no makeup on but she also doesn’t care. Because the fact it’s happening is all that matters, the fact it’s him saying it all is all that matters.
And it’s not the first time he’s asked this question. He’s said it before, in between kisses when neither of them are thinking straight.
“Marry me.” He’d say, and usually drunk as they stumbled over themselves to get to the bedroom. This is so different. They’re both sober and awake and not influenced by lust or anything.
He barely gets the last word out before she’s interrupting him with a fervent yes. And he’s slipping the ring on her finger, and kissing her happy tears before she can guide his lips onto hers.
This is all she’s ever wanted.

Writing Fanfiction Is:
Losing motivation when you have time
Getting motivation at ungodly hours of the day or when busy
Going back to your story trying to remember what the fuck you said
“Am I writing this character good or nah?”
“does the plot make sense?”
feeling guilty sometimes for absolutely no reason
waiting for comments on your fic from specific readers
writing something and thinking “oh yeah, thats definitely going to hurt them”
procrastinating on writing by writing other fics
having too many ideas and not enough time
never finishing your wips
debating whether to add the fucking dumbass joke in that scene or not
wondering if you should or shouldn’t add that angsty scene purely to fuck with the readers bc its not like its gonna kill them or anything
Hoping no one finds it while simultaneously hoping ppl read it
playing music for inspiration and zoning out
planning fics and never writing them
thinking its shit but ppl like it and suddenly ur imposter syndrome acts up LIKE A FUCKING BITCH
loving ur readers so so much

If I had one wish about Riverdale, it wouldn't be writing canon Varchie endgame but make the cast play for AO3 fanfiction writers...
I feel like RAS is just making a huge joke of his show.. let's talk about metaphors: saving riverdale, when he's ruining it... x).

I’m sorry but if your argument is that Veronica does not have female friendships and then bring that up as an argument for why she needs to be a part of Betty’s storyline I’m going to need you to sit down.
1. Latina characters do not exist to be the token best friend to white girls.
2. Veronica has had several complex female friendships. Several of which were full on storylines like her friendship and conflict with Josie in seasons one and two, her friendship with Cheryl that has been central to plots in basically all seasons. Her friendship with Toni. And her business relationship with Tabitha. Veronica has all the female friends! Literally most female characters on this show had a storyline with her.
3. Beronica is not the be all, end all of female friendships. The fact Veronica has mostly female friends and Betty has mostly male friends is a key part of both characters pulled directly from the comics! Betty is the tomboy archetype. Her best friends? All boys! Kevin, Archie, and Jughead. Veronica is the contrast to that. It’s what gives their early interactions in season one more weight: Betty literally didn’t have a female friend before Veronica… that was the point!
4. As such thinking that Veronica’s storyline would somehow be fixed by showing V as Betty’s best friend is just centering Veronica’s existence around Betty… which is gross!
5. I’m so tired of the argument that women can only be successful if they are single. This always comes up with Veronica. Always! And why? She is literally one of the few characters that accomplishes what she sets out to do. Yes, men are involved in her storyline. Part of her plot is that she takes up space in places the patriarchy says men own. That’s one of the first things Veronica and Chad talk about in their initial time jump scene. She is breaking barriers on purpose! But that does not mean her stories revolve around men. Those men are supporting characters in her storyline about breaking gender norms.
6. Which also applies to Betty! So… why would Veronica have to change and Betty does not?
