So I had this friend. We hadn’t spoken in a while, we were in the hospital together. They were really good at this card game we played, I forget the name of it, but whenever we played it, it was great to see them smile. It’s been forever since we spoke. Two days ago, I was browsing facebook as normal and I saw their picture. It was a really good photo, it had been their profile picture, except the words on it changed everything. RIP it said. My heart sank, everything just stopped. They loved horses, they had just gotten into their favorite college, and all that ran through my mind was, “no”. 

Sometimes life just hits you like that. Hard, fast, and unexpected. A beautiful young person is gone. I’ll miss you, I wish I got to know you better.

You know what I learned today?

You don’t have to take shit from anyone or anything. I’m not saying punch someone in the face for being a dick (well unless it’s necessary) or send a passive aggressive email. Make that email honest.

Today I had to give up my school, because they gave up on me first and it’s not worth the effort anymore. Yes part of it may be my fault, but they stopped treating me as a person.

I’m not allowed on the school campus anymore. I was in the school for about fifteen minutes yesterday, and left.

I thought it was a place I could open up, but I guess I just have to be more careful of who I talk to. Not that I really talk to anyone anyway.

So to the person that I unintentionally “taunted”, I’m sorry.

Fuck this, it’ll all just be memories someday, and someday is closer than you may think

the more i think about lily evans, the sadder i get.

she would have loved to take little harry out to muggle towns and make sure he’d grow up perfectly accepting of their culture

she would enjoy chasing around harry on the small broom, pretending to be too slow to catch him

she’d find her favorite recipes for pies and cakes, but couldn’t cook more than two dishes. she’d laugh every time she tried and james would have to take over

lily would adore hermione beyond anyone else and spent hours talking to them in diagon alley before harry’s second year

she would cry when she said good-bye to harry his first year on platform 9 ¾, and james did too. they didn’t care

lily would beg harry to have birthday parties at their house, and was more than enthusiastic to welcome all the weasleys in

she’d convince james to let harry use the invisibility cloak, because “it was more than helpful to us, maybe it’ll be good for him too”

number one quidditch fan and she started a happy-dance when she heard from mcgonagall that harry joined the team

when little eleven year old ginny kept looking at harry during a get together, lily knowingly stored this knowledge, but didn’t prod ginny. she was sure harry would come around

lily made sure harry knew how to stand up for himself, because she spent her years at hogwarts struggling to learn how and if anyone was going to pick on him at least he’d be able to hold his ground

she would get to grow old, and she’d accept every wrinkle and grey hair with pride

and instead of sharing a grave with james, she’d be sharing a home

soulmate au where instead of your soulmates first words to you written on your skin it’s their last words you ever hear them say so you don’t know who your soulmate is until you lose them

in the au where the wizarding world handles things a little more logically (like, say, checking sirius and peter’s wands for who cast the blasting spell) and sirius doesn’t go to azkaban

sirius ends up raising harry

and obviously remus is along to make sure sirius doesn’t either a: spoil harry into oblivion or b: accidentally kill harry

so harry, growing up with them, goes to hogwarts, and gets someone who asks the question of “do you have a mum” and harry replies with “sort of, i have a moony.”

and sirius hears about this on holiday and starts referring to remus as “moomy” bc he’s horrible

and after some time of this, remus just finally turns around and gives sirius a completely deadpan look and just says

“dadfoot”

a scene that really bothers me in HBP is when Ginny feeds Harry that pie thing and she is like “don’t you trust me?” and then just feeds it to him all nicely 

because I honestly believe that book!Ginny would have said “don’t you trust me?” and then she would proceed to shove the pie in his face and then say “your mistake!” and just like run away laughing her head off and Harry would just be sitting there with pie stuck to his face and a small grin thinking ‘wow this girl is perfect’
