You didn't necessarily describe them this way but this is what immediately popped into my head and I thought it was funny. They're having fun

Picturing how devastating it would be for vDonnie to realize they have a human friend, April, who they’ve adopted into their family. They claim to not believe that he’s their brother, using that as the reason to dismiss him the way they do, but then don’t seem to even care about the technicality of it when it comes to her regardless. That’s not fair! She’s not even a turtle! He’s the real one! He’s real! If they would just-

So I'm SUPERRR curious as to what that whole situation is gonna look like, like... once they're all cool

i dont think he would compare their experiences as being "outcasts" brought into the family to feel angry and jealous, just because there's this stupid delusional part of himself that thinks if he just keeps pushing and pushing that they'll let him in. he'll earn their respect. they'll care about him if he just makes enough of a scene. even when he's furious with them, or terrified of them, or hopeless and in despair-- he never thinks to stop. this is all that he has, and it's what's keeping him going. their perception of him as "parasocial and delusional" actually does have legs, the reason is just really sad (he makes himself into the villain and them into the heroes knowingly, but in a lot of ways that's because they were his childhood heroes. the source of comfort he leaned onto and fantasized about at the bottom of the dumpster or in a ditch. and that really influences the way he looks at them, even when he's combative and rude and standoffish there's this... blind reverence. he's learned they'll never come to save him, so this is the best he has).

if anything he might see the fact that april's with them, and essentially a piece of their family in a way, to be a good sign. as suspicious as the whole thing sounds (they can just??? befriend humans???), it's proof that they dont have to see him as their biological brother to care. if anything, it'd fill his big dumb heart with even more hope and excitement... poor kid

ngl i could see him having a "how did you get them to love you" talk with her even before the "adoption" omg that's so SAD.... april thinks she's in a regular hostage situation when he kidnaps her, which is the case, but then he just drops that atomic bomb of angst into her lap. and she's super pissed off about the kidnapping but she also lowkey feels too bad to beat him up LOL

^^^ this is especially because i dont think their relationship would be all that negative! it might be the most positive before mikey's behavior starts to shift, just because unless he's getting in the way of her attempting to be a normal functional person, she's usually pretty excited to fight him, and that goes both ways because someone is happy to see him and she's not physically stronger than him (unlike his brothers, who very much are, especially because they're eating more than he is and training more regularly + they have mystic powers).

i could see them having a funny dynamic actually, like he kicks down the door of the place she's working with a big fuckoff evil death ray and she's like "BRO NOT RIGHT NOW I AM TRYING TO KEEP MY JOB CAN YOU GO AWAY" and he's like "oh okay later sorry 👍" and he spends the next 20 minutes repairing the door before leaving politely. the bros are confused by how the fuck this works because he never leaves THEM alone, but that's because he's not like,, fixated on april like that. it paves the way for them to have a pretty good and healthy friendship later.

It was mentioned by one of the crew on ROTTMNT the potential reason Donnie built himself a battle shell was because Raph accidentally hurt him somehow when they were little and naturally I had to make a comic about it❤️‍🩹

Bonus, the first time Donnie talks again in over a week:

I wanted to make them resemble each other more btw, since there's this whole thing about them sharing a resemblance with Lou Jitsu (sans Raph possibly) but I based these designs on what they look like in the show and they just... don't look like each other at all. I've decided I'll just be sure to give them the same eyes. They do kind of vary just a little bit here, but I was mostly concerned about placement for them while working on these. I'll make sure they look the same as I go on to draw them

I don't always have the easiest time with cartoon art

One thing I've done when I can't get cartoon art to look right is to just try to draw they way I'd usually draw human bodies (plus a shell) and just slap their cartoon heads over top, which does help

But I finally sat down to try to work out how I might actually draw the turtles in my style and this is what I've come up with

I’ve definitely had the idea of Raph and Three meeting violently for about two years now (one of the first scenes I actually came up with tbh). So I’m not shocked that a similar scenario leaked into my KNDT AU without me ever even realizing!

I want Draxum to see Casey the way Ron sees April in Parks and Rec, ykwim. Like "Ah yes, the little gremlin child that helps me out sometimes. I'm so proud of her"

I wish Draxum and Casey's (Cassandra's) redemption arcs informed each other a bit. Like, if they learned to enjoy each other's company while they were working together, which would have allowed Draxum the impression that there are good humans. And of course, before he actually puts on the armor, he would easily dismiss any conflicting feelings about it because she's on his side. Of course any of the possible "good humans" would be in this group helping him

Then she betrays him, and so his bitterness towards humans is fairly renewed, but Mikey sets him back up and at some point during his outing at the carnival, he witnesses people exhibiting behaviors he'd appreciated in Casey in particular. Maybe with that he considers the fact that the humans who betrayed him were the ones he shared a goal with

And then Casey's conflict would more easily be traced back to the fact that this is the second time she's done this, and she's constantly felt guilty about hurting her friend the first time, and now she's reliving that guilt twofold. But she still has a chance to back out this time

Maybe after she betrays the shredder, she ends up moving in with Draxum, since she was presumably paid by the foot and wouldn't be able to afford her own apartment for the time being. This could also be a reason to place her closer to April, living in the same building, as we can assume they intended to have them be a pairing based on the stuff they'd laid down already and previous iterations

I went to listen to an old playlist of mine and was hit by a truck with inspiration for an animatic for @qoldenskies' canary continuity so I slapped this together real quick

Because of the harsh language used, I do feel the need to clarify that I have completely twisted the context of the song. With the context I've cut out, it's clearly directed towards like... catcallers and such. You can listen to it here. Also I looked up some of the lyrics here to double check my interpretation of them, but honestly some of the time I just don't hear it. So if you hear the lyrics differently from my captions then that's my fault, but the message is always the same so I'm not too concerned about it

Mutant Turtles: Cryptids

So I've been working on this thing for a couple of months now, but haven't posted anything about it. I'm working on a fan iteration

It started with a few thoughts about things I'd like to see in an iteration. Like how April is usually like... an adult, but as someone who has siblings ten years younger than I am, I'd love to see a dynamic more like that. What really got the ball rolling though was the thought "We've seen the writers explore how it might realistically affect someone to be turned into a rat man, but what about a Splinter who became a rat man and it was the best thing that ever happened to him?" So I made a version of him who has ADHD and was obsessed with cryptids even before transforming. Now he likes to sneak out and scare people. A Splinter whose parents died like a year before his transformation leaving him to live in squalor and then lost connection with his old friends. A probably nonbinary Splinter who finds the gender to be peak but probably never figures out what that feeling is.

I am actively working on a comic for the story, so I don't want to spoil too much, but there will be some character details below the cut.

-internet pilled (aka chronically online)

-distinct mutation trait: human eyes (shouldn't be opened underwater, unlike the others who it's safe for)
