Something i wrote about my drinking issues

Every sip, every gulp, every shot—

it burns the same every time.

Like acid dripping down my throat.

But somehow the burn soothes like sweet nectar.

The bottle is a comfort to my brain which slowly turns it self off.

My thoughts are quiet for once, and all i hear is the bass-heavy music and some girl shouting the lyrics.

The buzz— a feeling not like any comfort i have felt before.

The bottle, the music, the bile rising in my throat.

A soothing elixir.

I only draw once a blue moon nowadays but I thought this may be worth posting.

Another one of my writings I made in the middle of the night when I couldn’t sleep. Not too much to say about it other than I went to a catholic school where the bible was recited as fact, which took my little head for a spin.

TW: mentions of death and bugs.

Where do we go after death?

Is there truly a chorus of hymns behind vast pearly gates, guarded by a creator as omniscient as he is, perhaps, cruel?

Our Father, who art in heaven— does he welcome the tiny insects into heaven too? Is it only us? Surely all dogs go to heaven. He couldn’t be so heartless as to reserve paradise for only his “worthy” creations—could he? He wouldn’t play favorites… right? Or do we, as man, see ourselves as the only worthy creation?

The ladybugs, the starfish, the maggots that will eat of my rotten flesh six feet under—they must have a heaven too.

Or is God just a construct of our imagination? A balm we invented to soothe our fragile, self-important minds. Are we so narcissistic that we can’t bear the thought of simply ceasing to exist? Was humanity always this vain?

Why is it so hard to accept the finality of death? No more thoughts flickering behind our eyes, no more sensation in our fingertips. Just… silence, endless nothingness.

Maybe we really do return to dust—and somehow, I find that thought more comforting than an eternity with a God whose love comes with conditions. Because if that’s the price of paradise—if I cannot laugh freely, question boldly, or exist as anything beyond what a book demands I be—then let me die with my coin purse full, head resting between a woman’s breast, content in the knowledge that I will never meet such a heartless God. That, to me, is heaven enough.
