Violet city is really quiet usually, but we do get a lot of people coming to the Pokemon gym in town. It's the first one, so lots of people come from all over to battle Falkner, our gym leader.

It's the name of the song that they play there. Its kind of funny, because we play the same song at home and call it Vivacious Violet. I got a letter from Professor Holiday asking me to come. I think she noticed how well I was doing at Earl's Pokemon Academy back home. What's it like living in a port town?

I'm not saying I don't want to be a trainer, but I can see being a pokemon professor in my future. Remember Gary Oak? He was an elite four champion, and then he became a professor.

I'm still kind of shocked that me parents got a Beldum for me. You know they say its like a Magneton but instead of electricity it uses psychic energy to levitate.

Would you think I'm weird if I said all of them? I think Croagunk and Chinchou are really neat, and I'm a sucker for cute pokemon like Vulpix or Budew. I think emolga fits into both categories haha. But I'd really love to meet a real live legendary pokemon.

Yeah, that's right! I'm really fascinated by pokemon with unique type matchups. For example, did you know that Houndour and its evolution Houndoom are the only Dark/Fire dual type pokemon in known existence? I really want a wingull, because the water/flying type matchup would be very useful.

I got a letter from Professor Holly Holiday inviting me to come here. I think she invited me because of how well I do at the Pokemon Academy in Violet City, where I'm from. Me parents got it first and talked it over before they told me. They were worried about letting me come alone, so they got me a third pokemon to help me. Its a Beldum. They're very rare in Johto, but somehow they got one for me.

Of course not! You know how pokemon are though. They see most other pokemon as a threat until they get to meet, and even then sometimes they don’t like each other.

My electrike, Voltz, is my best friend, but Blitz is super protective. I think she'd get along with Aslan pretty well if they didn't think we were in danger of each other.
