Had to travel 4.5 hours to get to where the wineries are... BUT it was all worth it!... sorta

Went to Azura winery on Colorado’s west slope last weekend. The views were BREATHTAKING but the wine was.... meh. The Pinot Gris was way too sweet (almost sweeter than the Riesling) and the reds were quite jammy. I ended up buying a bottle of their chocolate sauce over their wine.

Would go back there again, but probably more for the views than their wine selection.

Campchella 2k19

My friends and I are going camping on the West slope (Colorado) this weekend. I moved to CO from Oregon. In Oregon I lived at most 40 minutes away from wine country. In Colorado, the closest wine Country is a 4 hour drive from Denver. We are planning on visiting a lot of wineries and having a blast! Can’t wait for Campchella!!!!

For tonight’s choice of wine, I’m enjoying the cheap “Cavit Pinot Grigio”. I wanted wine but didn’t want to spend more than $8.00 🤷🏼‍♀️

ADDED BONUS!

For a great summer feel, add frozen fruit to your wine! (Best with whites and rosé). I added frozen grapes and raspberries!

Wine of the day!

Tonight I am enjoying “The Original: Smoking Loon, Sauvignon Blanc” (2017 Vintage)

This sauv blanc is very crisp and has notes of citrus and fruit and even tastes a little effervescent. Very dry, and delicious.

I’ve been hiking in the Colorado Rockies all day, so this is very refreshing to sip on.

(Ignore my hotel cup... I’m on an archaeology project so this is the only cup I have 😂)

Tonight I had 2 glasses of Pinot Grigio and one glass of red blend... all I want to do is read my book but I’m afraid I’m too drunk to comprehend it... #oops
