Okay but imagine a scene with Billy and hopper sharing a cigarette somewhere down the line after surviving starcourt and Neil’s dead or left and it’s just come to light how Neil treated Billy and hoppers apologizing to him saying that as the chief of police he should’ve done something, should’ve been looking closer or paying attention and billy just takes a drag of his cigarette and stares down at the ashtray and says something about how everyone was so busy looking for the otherworldly monsters they didn’t think to check for the ones down the street from them… anyway

no disrespect but i liked billy's arc in season 3 and so did dacre.

Dacre had mentioned in the past he wanted a different outcome for Billy. He wanted Billy to find love and to move past the hurt. The duffers wanted dacre to play Billy in a way that he was uncomfortable with and would almost justify his father’s abuse. I know Billy’s character wasn’t everyone’s cup of tea but he could’ve had an incredible story arc with better writing. It’s a shame we didn’t get to see it.

Billy locked me in his arms, rocking us. I hadn’t seen him since he’d gone back to California at the end of March. I knew he’d arrived that morning, but I had been so busy getting ready for the graduation ceremony that I hadn’t had the opportunity to see him yet.  

“I have a surprise for you later,” he whispered. 

I pulled back and and quirked a brow. He smirked, not revealing any hints. We were leaving in a few days for San Diego so I couldn’t imagine what he had to surprise me with unless he smuggled Eddie back. It was unlikely due to Eddie not having been fully cleared of the accusations, despite Hopper’s efforts. It was a slow process but he was getting help from Dr. Owens to clear Eddie’s name and pin it on the true offender, Henry Creel. 

“You do?” I asked, smiling. 

He hummed as he smothering me with a firm kiss. His hands grasped at my graduation robe, pulling me closer. My palms pressed against his stomach as he whispered against my mouth, “You’ll love it.”

There was a clearing of a throat interrupted by Dustin’s voice spat, “Eww. Get a room.”
