Okay here we go.

Okay, is it bad that I read the prompt and immediately got the gist of what it was saying? Here we are...

"'Davo Strider, Gin Rider, Esq.'. I don't deserve that. I'm not cheating on anyone, I'm not exploiting those Sheilas, just let me live in peace," the aforementioned Davo Strider said aloud to his phone, as he nicked himself with his razor. "You made me do that, Johnno, you cunt. I will repay that in time. Hold up, I got another call. Yes, I did wash your stubbies, I'm not your Ma. Cheers, mate." Davo then washed his razor and his face, in that order, before glancing over at his screen. "Oh, it's them," he said, picking up the phone, "Hello, Davo speaking."

I’ll go through the Australianisms one by one, and then put them all together.

Davo: A derivative of Dave. It’s very Australian to chop a bit off the end of a word or phrase and pout -o on the end instead. Think smoko, arvo.

Gin Rider: A white man who sleeps with indigenous women and takes advantage of them. With the tags and the note in the OOC I’m going to imagine the context says this means Dave’s friends think he sleeps with Omegas to take advantage of them?

Esq.: The only context I’ve seen this is Esquire, possibly because it rhymes with Gin Rider? Not one I’ve seen in the wild.

Sheilas: Women.

Nicked: Can mean stole or cut, Context says cut.

Johnno: See Davo

Cunt: A friendly term of endearment.

Stubbies: 375mL beer bottles. (I’m not sure why they’d be washed, unless John makes his own beer maybe?)

Ma: Mother

Cheers: Have a good day

Mate: Friend, or really just anyone.

So, that leaves us with a loose translation as follows.

I can’t find it, what is it tagged as??? As a bona-fida Australian I wanna see if I can make sense of it!

usually when I’m at a loss for words at a  prompt, it’s because it’s got something that I personally am grossed out by, or it’s written badly, or something like that. I’m not gonna screen shot it, but that australian au prompt makes me feel like I’m genuinely losing it. I have not a god damn clue what it’s supposed to mean in any aspect of it, the ooc, the prompt, i read it like seven times and I’m still at a loss. 

normally i don’t do this, but i just could not contain how baffled i am this time around.

1: I have a world I’ve been mentally tweaking for fucking years

3: I disappear out of nowhere and then show up regularly for like two weeks then disappear again

4: I very rarely take prompts, usually just throwing my own up

5: I then realise how many of my prompts have been taken and cry

Sometimes I wonder if I’ve seen a partner in the tag, because some of my partners have the most amazing writing when I feel like I don’t deserve it. But also I AM HOPELESS AT TELLING WHO IS WHO at one point I had FIVE chats with my then-boyfriend and didn’t realise until we were comparing rp partners.

Funny thing is, I used to listen to Nightvale, ages ago, it would keep me company on long commute to work, but I don’t really listen to it anymore.

Nowadays I’m all up in that McElroy business, I’m caught up on Shmanners and The Adventure Zone and slowly working through MBMBAM. I listened to Bunker Buddies for a while as well, that was real fun. And my other fun one is Oh No Ross and Carrie, they don’t just report on fringe science, spirituality, and claims of the paranormal. They put it to the test!

I have what I sorta treat as shells. Basic things are similar like height, name, and very basic aspects of the personality but I don’t think I’ve ever really played an OC the same way twice, they all develop in response to the rps

What’s a pet peeve of yours?

Like, not enough to end the chat but maybe enough to make responses slow or something?

Mine’s when like... more than half the sentences start with the same thing. It just makes things hard to read for me when there isn’t variety in structure.
