Confidence, resolution, strength, power are some features the protagonist Holden Caufield severely lacks.

The catcher in the rye novel was the second thing to come in mind when I saw the image (right) of a vintage(?) novelty- button, the first thing that came to mind was a scene I remember from the movie Scar-face- where Al Pacino delivers the line from his in movie character's script to frank Lopez (actor Robert Loggia) "you don't have the balls".

In J.D's novel "catcher in the rye" I recall Holden having (several) issues, one in particular was interacting- socializing with females, he would wonder why they (females) would go for the jerks(?)etc, Holdens "debilitated" thought examination of the opposite sex and sociology in general served not as a tool for fixing the protagonist's problems but a hindrance in apprehension, frankly speaking Holden doesn't have the balls.

contemplating this conjecture the time has now come to include- address myself in all this but not without taking into consideration of the multitude that have been before and will come after. When I'm waiting in line in the DHS i sometimes see female(s) some are pregnant and some are pregnant and with already two or three kids running around, sometimes the dad might be present too. The family is applying for some government assistance.
