FUN FACT, Emet-Selch’s “you just put your lips together and blow” line in rak’tika is just more proof he’s a theater nerd who is really bad at flirting. it’s a (previously) very famous line from a 1944 movie called “To Have and Have Not.”

The line is at about 2:48 in the video below, but i guarantee he memorized the whole thing. this entire scene is a powerhouse of flirtation and Lauren Bacall’s in-control delivery is 100% what that asshole is trying to project. Emet-Selch spent literal centuries practicing fantasy-Lauren Bacall lines at a mirror just to recite them at you eventually. 

“You don’t have to act with me, Steve. You don’t have to say anything and you don’t have to do anything. Not a thing. Oh, maybe just whistle. […] You know how to whistle, don’t you Steve? You just put your lips together, and blow.”

most players just think ‘wow he’s weird’ which, while right and true, makes me kinda sad on behalf of the writers/localization team/etc. This was a spectacular choice, and it’s even better because most players have no idea what he’s referencing - just like your WoL in canon! but yes. emet-selch is weird and atrocious at sincere flirting, but by god, he’s trying.
