if you could change one thing about your life, what would it be?

“ I WOULD let myself have more of a childhood. i started acting at such a young age, i can’t help but wonder what i missed out on.”

brynn perked up at that, angling her head towards sage. “seriously? that actually sounds perfect.” she pulled her legs down and turned her whole body to face him, leaning her back against the chair. “what’s it like in your part? because i’m imagining you living with kangaroos and koalas, which i’m assuming you don’t.”

“ YEAH, as long as you think you can tolerate me in the midst,” sage responded, knowing that would be the biggest struggle of the endeavor. “sadly, no. i’m from sydney, which is very much a city and not the middle of the brush. i wouldn’t say it’s too terribly different from california. beaches, theatres, rugby, the whole lot. however, if you come for a stay, i can definitely introduce you to some kangaroo and koala pals.”

asher looked up from his laptop with a start, opened to the digital short he and cece were working on through a shared google doc. he’d been so absorbed in his work that he hadn’t even realized sage was home, and it took an extra moment for him to process sage’s words. he narrowed his eyes playfully, setting his laptop to the side. “oh? since when are you my favorite roommate? i’m pretty sure fred the ghost beat you out after last month’s rooftop olympics.” after a few seconds, he broke and nudge sage in the side with his elbow. “of course i’ll help you, ya doof.”

“ FRED the ghost is most definitely not real,” sage stated plainly, still hanging on to the idea that there was certainly not a ghost living in their apartment. “and the those games were most definitely rigged. i don’t even know why i agreed to doing it, really. i don’t know anything about sports.” he shook his head, trying to shake his memories of losing very terribly. “anyway, that’s not the poin -- oh, you will? that’d be great.” he sighed in relief, hoping asher would be able to help.

mia was in top form that night. everything in her look from head to toe was perfectly executed and the guy she’d managed to snag on the dance floor was icing on the cake. sage was cute, there was no question about that. he wasn’t exactly who she wanted to be dancing with, but the guy she wanted to be dancing with wasn’t exactly an option. instead she moved in closer, her arms draped around his neck and her fingers twisting in the curls on his neck. she laughed her most flirtatious laugh, the music too loud and her mind too far gone to really process what he was saying. did it really matter, though? // @sagecalvcrt

AT this point, sage knew he’d had a few too many to drink. but he knew that a few drinks back when he contemplated confronting his roommate about how he thought there could be something between the two of them, and that was definitely not an option. so, he had a few more, which eventually led him to dancing with mia. her fingers tangled in his mess of curls, almost felt normal as the space between them closed even more, although he couldn’t help to wonder what he was doing. his eyes glanced across the room to asher, before he leaned in to make sure he was heard. “are you even listening to me, sweetheart?” his accent was heavier under the influence. “would you care for another drink?”

“Oh, sure! I mean, that’s what I did all the time with my mo– whenever there was something, uh, slightly related to charity involved. In, uh, girl scouts. Or anything that… does that.” Callie’s face flushed slightly, her flub not going unnoticed to her own critical mind. “I’d just have to get in touch with someone in charge of the nurse station. And make it not come off threatening at all – not when you’re suddenly asking people which patient might be allergic to which ingredient. I’ve got this, though. And that’s – I’m Callie? I work on Super Human. Just as a P.A., though.”

“ GIRL scouts, huh?” sage chuckling at the thought. “can’t say i’m surprised. sounds like something that’s in your wheelhouse, just by looking at you.” he was never really the type to obey the ‘don’t judge a book by it’s cover’ sorts of rules. “well, look at you with all of your connections. i knew there was a reason i was keeping your around,” he teased, pushing his curls away from his face. “i’m sage, but you knew that didn’t you? i’d say you lived under a rock if you didn’t. i’m on lesliean. or at least i think that’s what i signed up for. who knows.”

@rivcrvs -- SAGE leaped over the couch, landing very abruptly next to his roommate. having a few days off had made him restless, especially knowing that he was getting entirely too close for comfort to filming some of he more intense cheer leading scenes on lesliean. though he was new to zenith, he was no stranger to acting. however, he’d been so excited for his role as liam, he didn’t anticipate the amount of effort he would have to put into it. as soon as he found out about asher’s cheer leading past, he had decided to take full advantage of it. “i need some help,” he stated simply, resting his chin upon his hands. “with these cheer leading scenes. can you help your favorite roommate out?”

“It could be an issue if you’ve got limited time and just the two hands available to do the petting,” she insisted, her tone teasing. It was not every day one got to play devil’s advocate that way. “Maybe you could find somewhere that would accept the donation? Like a home for elderly people? Though, there should be a fair warning for diabetics. Or, um, just those people who shouldn’t consume too much glucose. I can look that up for you on my break if you’d like?” she offered, the idea quickly taking roots in her head the more she mentioned it out loud.

“ I SUPPOSE that’s fair,” sage nodded, attempting that she had a good point. she could appreciate someone that could look at a situation from all the angles. “home for the elderly would be a good option, but yes i could see where health concerns could be an issue there. yeah, if you wouldn’t mind that’d be awesome. i don’t even know if i’d know where to start, actually.”

sprawled out on the floor of sage’s dressing room, brynn propped her legs up on the chair instead of sitting in it properly. “how many episodes until we’re done again? i need a vacation from this place – somewhere off the grid where nobody can find me.” // @sagecalvcrt

“ YOU are asking the wrong person, my friend,” sage shrugged, pushing his curls away from his eyes. “as much as i’d like to say we’ve filmed the entire season at this point, i’m almost positive that we have not. you should come away to aussie with me when we finally go on hiatus, i think you’d love it.”

“ LOOK, i’m just trying to help you out here,” sage shrugged his shoulders, biting the inside of his lip as he debated whether he should apologize for his comment. he decided that remark about punching him in the face would determine it even. “i mean, that’s usually how it goes. if you have the time to complain, you probably aren’t grateful. but, hey, what do i know. i think you’ll ‘the error of of your ways’ all on your own, sunshine.”

sofia couldn’t even fathom how that could happen; wouldn’t he realize he was making so many batches of cupcakes? the other person’s laugh was infectious that she couldn’t stop herself from joining in the laughter. though at his suggestion, a better idea popped up to her mind. “ why not place them in those nice boxes and send them out secret admirer style to the crew? it’s always the actors who’s getting these kind of stuff after all. ”

“ WELL, that would be kind of me, now wouldn’t it?” sage titled his head to the side as he contemplated he idea. it wasn’t that he had a terrible relationship with the crew members, but he didn’t exactly have an outstanding on either. early call times and less than ideal conditions caused him to have a less than cheery attitude a fair bit of the time. “it might earn me some brownie points, actually. as long as they don’t suspect that i’ve poisioned them or something. would you wanna help a fella out?”

❛ i’ve been back in la for all of two days and i’m already feeling the urge to get on a plane and leave again. like…no offense to the city of angels or anything, but smog and bumper to bumper traffic has absolutely nothing on the gelato festival in florence or the beauty of an italian countryside — don’t even get me started on the handsome locals. so, while i wait for some future episode of surburbia to take riley to tuscany, i do have a few bottles of my new favorite wine to keep me company. not like they’ll last, but you can share with me if you’re willing to let bygones be bygones. i mean, i know i was a piece of shit and ignored a lot of texts the last couple of months, but i had solid reasons and now i just need someone to at least pretend like they missed me. ❜ 

“ OH, babe. didn’t your mum ever tell you that you’re a lot prettier whenever you’re not complaining?” sage smirked, eyeing isla from across the room. in a way, he understood where she was coming from, but he knew that there was nothing that she could say that would make los angeles any less of the things she had a problem with. “you know, you’re not the only one that’s traveling from an entirely separate continent to work here, so maybe you could just be thankful that you have the opportunity. just a thought.” he shrugged, going back to reading over his script.

“i’ve literally just spent three hours watching makeup tutorials for looks that i’m never going to do in my life. what is wrong with me? see this is what happens when i don’t have work for a day.” she sighed heavily, fingers running through her hair. “i need to sort my life out and freshen up. do you fancy going for a walk or getting something to eat? i need to get out for a little while, stretch my legs.”

“ I’LL never claim to understand you women,” sage muttered, running his fingers through his curls. on one hand, he figured it was just about as mindless as video games, but then again, she even admitted that she would never use them so he couldn’t see the point. “yeah, i guess i could go for that. maybe we can just walk until we find somewhere interesting? i’d love to explore the city for a change.”

SAGE had one headphone in his ear, attempting to run through the cheer routine they’d been practicing for a seen in lesliean. the rehearsal studio had been taken, so he opted for the general common room, eventually getting a little carried away and partially performing off the the side until his concentration was broken by the girl’s words. “oh, i’m sorry,” he apologized, ripping his earbud from his ear. “i didn’t mean to -- the studio was taken and... yeah.”
