🧟 ───── no he supposed he did not, did he? however, those very same people that got him so far, were the same people that he crashed head first into. the people whom might have ended up killing him or vise versa if he hadn't taken off when he did. he shook his head wanting to protest, and argue even as he looked towards her. she was making this argument to stay, that they stick together because it would be better that way, but he wasn't so sure. she didn't even know what she was getting into.

"so what you and me against the world, that what you're looking for?" he inquired with an arched brow and a scoff he could not help right then. "you're not gonna let this go are ya?"

❝ well you didn't make it this far without somebody's help - ❞ she's quick to interject, one hand settling on her hip as the other shields olive hued eyes from the setting sun. kate was used to stubborn men, having been married to one of the most bull-headed she'd ever met ( not to mention the entire garcia family ). that's what the military does to you, though; makes you hard. makes you numb. makes you almost inhuman at times. she wonders if shane shared a similar background, too.

❝ i'm not too keen on just trusting anyone i come across, either. . . i get it, but. . . it's better than being on your own out here. there's strength in numbers - right? and i'm a lot tougher than i seem, you know. ❞

🧟 ───── there was silence as he sat there considering his options. he honestly did not believe getting tangled up with someone, or anyone for that matter. he'd left that group for a reason because the conflict was gonna get him or someone else killed. he'd made the hard, struggling choice to leave but ... well ... that was never easy was it. he shifted as he looked towards her, "look i'm not exactly into the whole survive in numbers thing, doesn't usually work out so well." he grunted quickly.

🧟 ───── there was a heavy sigh as he cursed some before he turned towards lori and then brought his hand towards his side and then licked his lips. he turned his attention back towards her again, "lori come on.... not so long ago we wanted the same damn things, you know. so what's really changed, because for me nothing has changed here." he pointed out quickly.

telling lori rick was dead  ━━━━ i often see one of the flaws in shane’s character or his relationship with lori is that he lied about rick being dead to get in her pants, or to have her for himself, blah blah blah. but i often sit here and wonder like did i watch the same series as everyone else?

shane went to the hospital when the outbreak happened to get rick out, but trying to carry him, the power going out thus turning off every machine that was previously keeping rick alive because he was in a coma, it was logical for him to get out and say that rick was gone. he checked for a heart beat, couldn’t find one, there were walkers and military everywhere and he knew if he said he didn’t 100% know that lori would want to go back for rick and it would get her, and carl and himself killed. 

so he told her he was dead for sure even if it was just a solid conclusion to all the factors, there was no way they’d be able to carry him, get him anywhere or take care of a man in a coma. shane did what rick would have wanted and i think everyone knows that rick would have WANTED for them not to waste when there was no guarantee he’d wake up or survive that his wife and son were shane’s priority. if you think otherwise i..... don’t know what to tell you. 

but shane didn’t lie out right to get in her pants, shane told her the most logical thing with every fact he had in order to keep her and carl alive. lets be honest; if lori had tried the military or walkers would have killed them. he saved their lives believing that his friend wouldn’t make it and knowing they didn’t have the resources to care for him.
