watched alien romulus, liked it, spoilers below :0

I...liked it? like there were some really nice things about it, like the opening scenes of the movie/maybe first half? and then idk the parts where they start interacting with the xenomorphs themselves didn't really feel that tense

-I DID really like the demon baby scene/buildup a lot

-like going down the ladder to find this normal sized baby and watching the foot/hand prints get larger and larger and the first reveal they show you is this weird thing crouching in the shadows and when it steps out it's like o H D:

-andy going up to the sister and when he turns around it's like all the sound cuts out and it took my brain a couple seconds to figure out what I was looking at but oufughdhgfjhg creepy very very good

-ALSO A+ for andy's dad jokes :'D and acting

-the characters are all young looking (not necessarily bad?) but they weren't as compelling compared to others in other movies

-sound design at the beginning when you're settling in is really nice, esp. when they're taking off to space; set design too is gorgeous

-the scene where they first enter the ship and somebody throws a flare/the camera tilts is neat haha

-the little slip in of david's theme/music when the other android's talking about the black goo goOD

-hmmm thinking about it or maybe just me imagining the gore/body horror scenes (for the most part) felt kinda held back? (not talking about the uh wall vagina egg or the xenomorph aspects haha)

-like the scene where the wall egg is dripping blood on the guy

-I think what makes me fond of prometheus and covenant is the fact that they run around on these weird/dead planets and the whole thing with the engineers

-noticed similarities/mashups from the other movies in this one which isn't necessarily bad but it did break immersion a little or made me like 'oh! third act pregnancy like prometheus or a cargo hold battle sort of like covenant, or alien resurrection where the alien gets sucked out into space through that tiny hole

-idk how I feel about the offspring design, will need to watch/see it again; it's a little goofy hahah (again not a bad thing) but I do like that they have the engineer/marble statue alien face and how the hips were a bit off/twisted

-the part where it was grinning was creepy; also when it was hovering over the sister with the mouth retracting I thought they were gonna do a very strange/fucked up version of breastfeeding but it doesn't look like they did? or at least couldn't tell

-edit: oH according to reddit it did happen dfghjf plus they mentioned when she draws her hand of her shirt with weird goo on it

-also slappy slimy facehugger proboscis >:'D

-some of the action scenes reminded me a little of the alien movie that had the underwater alien fight scenes haha

-will need to rewatch in general (movie theatre audio/words getting eaten up in the sound + no subtitles) it's good but I think covenant and prometheus still win out for me

edit: this also makes me wanna go back and watch the movies in chronological or timeline order haha

at least we got to see the wild dragon a little :'D the little curled wing tips are cool/I like how it kinda looks mottled

but also I love/hope we see more of lohar if there's a season 3 mfghfghj

I think compared to GOT what hotd doesn't quite have is intensely disliking a character and then in the next moment feeling sympathy/conflicted on that same character

like yeah there's morally grey but it's a lot more toned down? (if that's even fair to compare the two shows haha)

auuGHHHHH the two new dragons we see are so pretty I love how when vermithor settles with hugh you can see its eye glittering in the fire and same with silverwing but in the background when ulf steps on the fucking eggs mdfkhjgg (also silverwing just kinda nudging him away)

I love silverwing's head horns and vermithor's brow ridge/eyebrow looking horns and how silverwing's wings are kinda differently shaped/paddle looking?

also the scene where rhaenyra is just like whelp do whatever/go say hi to vermithor is kinda hellish

thinking about aemond and I wonder if he worked with vhagar more after lucerys I love hwo they did that scene where they're turning away but vhagar's still looking after silverwing/wanting to chase

edit: ngl I started cackling when I saw how big vermithor was mghf also the little lip curls

it’s horrible to say but it’s never been a better time for scam artists to exploit your generosity, when things seem so dire, and I’ve donated to campaigns before only to realise later that the entire story was stolen from an actual family in need. due diligence might take a few more minutes out of your day but at least you won’t be sending money to an opportunistic scumbag.

I love how seasmoke kinda has those game of thrones dragon neck frills

and in ep. 5 that looming shot of caraxes in the background behind that one guy on horseback turning away and his head is slowly lowering into the shot and he's rumbling and not the little seagull warbles he makes

I think caraxes is my fav soundwise? rhaenyra's dragon sounds more brassy and vhagar's vhagar haha

I love when jace goes to talk to that one lord and lady in the middle of the bridge and how when they pan out his dragon just kinda blends in with the environment until it moves; same with another shot with caraxes and how he's red but he also kinda blends in/dulls out from farther away

edit: oH NO that made me fucking sad I really liked how they kinda focused a little more/actually showed dragon/rider dynamics with rhaenys but also being unable to do anything watching as your dragon's neck gets crushed in front of you jesus

edit: also meleys having the spikiest ass neck but I guess in comparison to vhagar's sheer size + being an old war dragon also they did the claw lock thing!!!

edit: also thinking about it more I thought vhagar when she fell to the ground was going to be gravely injured; also sunfyre curled up around aegon on the ground T-T

Iris Complex is a horror mystery webcomic written by Josh Tierney that I worked on! :0 it's about a girl who wakes up in a field with no memories and has to figure out what the heck is going on. there's worms, a guy who's a smash hit with the guitar, and demon noodle dogs! you can also read the whole thing now on webtoon :O

I got these back to back haHA and yes I have I enjoyed it a lot :'D I loved seeing weird little creatures/speculative biology

@pien-art hullo and awhh thank you! and ooohh nice! and oh man I don't know anything about dyeing haha; I've gotten my yarns from daiso, ebay, etsy, facebook market, local thrift shop, WEBS yarn website (basically lots of different places haha) for the wool strips/sari ribbon I've only gotten them from etsy so far. I tend to try and get yarns that are variegated/multicolor (noro yarn has some really gorgeous multicolor yarn but they can be pretty expensive hence me looking on etsy/ebay people will sell them at a discount sometimes) plus in general you can find a lot of good deals/discounted yarn on etsy

speaking of rug hooking I stg there was another ask about rug hooking but I might've accidentally deleted it? >:'D apologies. it was something about do I tend to buy multicolored yarns only/how many different types of yarn go into a piece (I think). and yes I tend to get the multicolored/variegated yarns (which I chop up and wind into little balls of the individual colors to make it easier for myself when I do projects haha). as for how many types I honestly wouldn't be able to say ahhsa; the leafy one the main body was pretty much all one type of yarn with some minor details in another yarn while the background was made up of a lot of types but it honestly depends.

Hello, I am Mohammed Alanqer, married to Enas Majed, and we have four wonderful children.

We live in the midst of the ongoing hellish war in Gaza, trapped between walls of fear and despair. I, Mohammed, am a father of four children and a husband to a woman who was two months pregnant when the war began.

We struggle daily to survive in an environment filled with threats and dangers.

I lost our sole source of livelihood when my tech startup, which I built with dedication and hard work, was destroyed in the war. My children, Layan, Sarah, and Adam, have been deprived of education after their schools were destroyed, severely threatening their future. Amidst these harsh circumstances, my wife gave birth to our fourth child, Amir, in the midst of the war, adding to our state of despair and hopelessness.

My wife, Enas, lives in constant anxiety due to the destruction of hospitals in our area. I have lost my job and source of income, leaving me unable to provide for my family's needs and safety. Our home was destroyed by the war, forcing us to flee repeatedly and rendering us homeless.

We now face extreme difficulty in providing a safe place to live, clean clothes, and food for our children. Additionally, our children have contracted diseases like measles, and our son Adam has been diagnosed with viral hepatitis.

Our only hope now is to escape this ongoing nightmare and find a safe haven for our family. However, this requires exorbitant financial costs; the coordination fees for crossing the borders amount to $5000 per adult and $2500 per child, a sum I cannot afford alone.

hey all. I really struggle with asking for help about this situation and balancing what amount of detail to share regarding it, but I’d like to share some information right now as I’m feeling fairly level headed. I am working with my therapist to remove me from my current toxic living situation with an emotionally immature and toxic parent, and this post my be deleted as needed for my privacy in the future. My independence is severely limited right now and I do need to get out and move sooner rather than later. Key things that are making this difficult for me is my inability to drive, I do not currently have a local support system other than my therapist, and the fact that I have not been able to get hired for a more stable basic job where I live currently I am looking to move to Chicago proper (currently in the suburbs) to be in a walkable area with public transit. I am okay and safe currently but this is starting to feel urgent to me.

I am currently self employed through running my online shop and art business. This leads me to asking: If anyone has the means or generosity to buy anything from my shop I would massively appreciate it as this is my only form of income at the moment. Trying to do some odd jobs around my neighborhood to get some extra cash saved up to cover the first few months of rent somewhere else while searching for a job. Even a single sticker will help me out, and joining my sticker club on Patreon would give me some extra flexibility. These are some things I currently have for sale and they’ll be linked below!

I truly have been struggling big time and I feel guilt in asking for help but I am very isolated right now. I was not allowed to move for college, and so have no experiencing living away from my family, but doing so is really pushing me back in terms of my mental health and seeing me lose my progress makes me feel sad and scared. My family member is not making this easy on me as they rely on me to regulate their emotions and do not want to allow me to leave. I really would like to be able to experience the rest of my 20s not being treated like a child.
