Idea from earlier

So as some may know, this blog is a secondary blog to @breakevencurios

I did not know that secondary blogs couldn’t recieve asks (mean it also says you cant blog or reblog but uh thats not true)

Anyway

So the lack of organization and lack of abilities is bothering me

So what Im thinking of doing is to keep this blog up until Chapter 1 is released.

Then I will makeover Breakeven to be solely Salem Crossing related. I will keep this up as well if anyone wants to go back and see old stuff.

This blog will be a developmental blog for things like character designs and updates until Chapter 1 is done and released into the void.

im halfway done with the ROs!!

Theres 11 ROs and bOOM! Theres 6 right here :D

I also realized that I’m running out of space on the canvas, so I’ll be just making two separate images of RO’s after I fill up this one, I’ll hide the Batch 1 layer group i made and just make another set for Batch 2!

I’ll probably be organizing them between the Pure^tm routes and Oh Dear Gods Help Me routes

I wanna start writing already!!

Except theres a few problems in my way:

-the Romantic Options lineup drawing/reference sheet isnt anywhere near being done

-it’d be nice if i could draw the Non-romancable Characters (NRCs) as well, I’m fond of them.

-I haven’t downloaded ChoiceScript or learned how to code yet

-I’m bad at writing

-Once i start writing i won’t know what to write

Now, the first few things are easily solved.

About 89% (i really did the math) of the characters I have created have at least rough appearance claims as well as Pinterest boards. I don’t really need to draw them, I know what they look like already. It’s more for the reader’s enjoyment and even reference if they ever like the story enough to do fanart.

I can easily download ChoiceScript right now and start learning code tomorrow. It doesnt sound easy, but it has to get done at some point.

I’m not even particularly bad at writing either, I did very well on essays in school. I’ve just never written a full story before.

Update 3/5/19

Well, welcome to the new year everyone!

I really wanted to have Chapter 1 out by now for people to play, but I’ve had so much to draw and work on that I put Salem Crossing on the back burner.

So, whats new?

~Romantic Option’s pinterest boards have been added to quite a bit

~Non-romancable side characters (NRCs for short) have been added to the cast and also have boards! As always, they only have codenames for now, but here’s a quick list of who we have so far:

~ROs sheet is now being continued on, I’m currently designing Emo Boi and have to pick him out a first name. He also got a race change, he’s now at least half Asian; Chinese to be specific.

And with the ROs sheet being worked on, I have just realized I have 11 ROs planned. Which is...a huge amount. Along with the side characters, I have no idea how I’ll be able to include them all into the story. I might have to end up scraping some.

working on the Romantic Options sheet again and ive definately improved...

it wasnt noticeable until I could NOT get Emo Boi to look right for proportion and height reasons. It took over an hour of editing and redrawing things to realize a lot of the problem was that he was standing next to Erin and Layne who arent drawn too well.

So i could leave them like that and have them stick out, or i could redraw them as well. Considering I have 8 other ROs to draw i really dont want to have to redraw them, but it’ll be interesting and i can fix their awkwardly squished proportions.

Emo Boi (still unnamed, yes.) is like 5′6″ and Layne is supposed to be taller than him so it definately needs fixing.

Update 1/27/19

I’m a bit ashamed of how little progress has been made honestly. The only noteable one is that there is now a real pinterest board for SC, and a section for every character.

Im currently in the process of moving everything from the inspiration board to the respective character.

When I finish drawing my MCs and things for contests (entries and prizes), i should be able to get back to designing.

Plot notes 12/24/18

Cutting most of it out for possible spoiler reasons but I can at least list the RO’s and make some things known.

RO’s: (yes those are the nicknames i gave them in my notes, theyre all unnamed rn)

Rocker: default male, longer hair on one side, guyliner, sunken features, guitar player and singer. fun-loving, adventurous and flirtatious.

Hipster: default female, flower crowns, hipster glasses, bob hair, freckles. is quite impatient and sassy.

Emo boi: default male, just wants a hug, lots of black, headphones 24/7. Overall quiet, a bit of a hermit. Short.

Edge fluff: default male, short fluffy hair, leather jackets, thin frame, socially awkward.

Jade queen: genderfluid (most likely), afab, green hair, playful, energetic, band tees.

Space bunz: default mtf trans, POC, tall, usually wears colorful wigs, kind, good listener, confident.

curlz4dayz: default female, POC, long coily hair, optimistic, also a good listener, playful, loves to joke around.

art boi: male, loves to paint and play piano, muscular build, bright smile, a bit of a flirt, tall.

pretty gorl: female (may or may not be the female version of art boi), soft features, dark wavy hair, nocturnal, lesbian, always looks tired

demon minion: default female, long features, short, angsty, withdrawn, short-tempered. tattooed.

Lucifer: default male, tall. long hair, slender figure. lots of black, red and leather. quite the sociopath. is very loud and controlling, overall a douche. very lustful.

Plot:

In a supernatural world where those with unique abilities are outcasted and segregated into their own areas, the player moves into their inherited mansion from their great-grandfather. They think they scored, but little did they know that the house wasn’t as it sounded. As they uncover secrets hidden from the world for decades, the player also learns a lot about themselves and their family along the way.

How will society affect the world and those who aren’t like everyone else? Does technology progress us further or hinder our own abilities? Is there anyone who can change everything? All are good questions, just waiting to be answered with the help of you!
