friendly reminder that moments like sitting in the sun, waking up well-rested, discovering a song that makes you feel your heart and laughing with someone will find you again. clouds will dissipate and the sun will sink and rise and the moon will be full and bright outside of your window, and life will stop feeling this heavy. in the meantime, we’ll try. sometimes that’ll feel like enough and sometimes it won’t, but that’s okay. you’re here and that’s an achievement and that’s good and it matters.

If doubt comes into mind, think about all the achievements, even the small wins, you have made despite the hurdles of life. Do not forget that you have your own wins and that somebody out there also wants what you have. You made it once. You can do it again. Strong heart.

To those in college: if you feel that the pressure is too much, that it is weighing you down, take time to look around and grab the first rope of courage to lift you up. Trust that with every word you pour, every lines you draw, every drop of tears, sleepless nights, doubtful days, and challenging weeks are going to be worth it especially when you know the source of your strength. You must look into God, who continuously equips us with the right sheath and sword in the right battles. For in Him, the process, the investment, the time is worth it.

it’s true that growth doesn’t usually happen when you’re comfortable, but at the same time you have to understand that sometimes growing can also look like setting boundaries, knowing when to stop and not continuing to push yourself. there might be something inherently romantic about escaping your comfort zone and doing everything you’re afraid of, but that doesn’t mean that your entire life should be spent doing things that make you uncomfortable. know when to say no for the simple reason that the timing isn’t right, that you don’t see the benefit or that you just don’t want to do it.
