anyways Hannes and Neve are friends and their dynamic is so fun to me so I draw them sometimes. this was done before Neve's official outfit/design was figured out so don't mind that. Focus on the bug bonding <33

Some doodles of Neve with their favourite things! I realised after the fact that this is coded like a weekly wants for them, and I think that's funny. Mostly I just wanted to draw some of the game items though :]

some wips trying to work out what Neve's siblings all look like post reemergence!

Whilst Embra doesn't reincarnate their parents, the siblings all find themselves spread across Palia in the modern day, amnesiacs as much as the rest of humanity and left to try and find a place for themselves in this new world.

Neve emerges near Kilima, found by Jina and stays near the village. They took a bit to realise they should pretend to be settled in, and performs normalcy as best they can to the accepting community they've found. Underneath though they are ravenous for answers, and feel crazy with what is just out of reach.

Rowan emerges in Umbraa. Found by the locals and roughly carving a place for herself at the edge of the community. Finding herself work and earning the respect of the community if only so she may find some peace. There is a wrongness settled in her bones as she forces her head down and to move forward, not look back. She tries to convince herself answers are futile in the state of things, but she never feels at ease.

Sorely emerges just outside of Bahari City, and almost immediately got himself in trouble. Far from the first human around, not plentiful and he draws attention. That makes it twice as hard as he tries to charm his was into some help, and stumbles headfirst into the flow regulation rules and thereafter the Grimalkin Cartel. He's found himself in a heap of trouble and is barely one step ahead of it always as he finds ways to tinker and exploit rules that don't make sense and a world that feels all wrong.

Una emerges outside of Harvest Meadows, offered help by the locals enough to get on her feet. She felt a longing though, a need to find something. She set out to travel eventually finding Lilja in some ruins and felt drawn to her. Upon being reawoken, Lilya was able to recognize Una to an extent, and the two reunited happily. They are aware that Una has a family, though Lilja's data is a bit scrambled and half scrubbed, unable to properly recall too much identifying information. Una is haunted by the hole in her chest that she knows should be filled by people she loved. She is based in Harvest Meadows, but regularly travels for clues.

I tried to make their outfits indicative of both their personal style, and their lifestyles post reemergence. Using the in game outfits to plan, albeit with some minor tweaks.

A little peak into Neve's life before the human reemergence! During the Human Era, Neve was the second child of a middle-middle upper class family of engineers and researchers. High enough in society to feel the need to social climb and with good enough connections that they might get the chance to.

Maevis Mochan was a flow researcher, and Riven Mochan was an engineer. They were an arranged marriage though they find their arrangement has benefited them well. Sort of if Amity's parents from The Owl House actually got along/weren't evil. Maevis and Riven weren't saints by any means, often emotionally neglectful in fact, but they were not abusive with any intent.

Neve was born deaf, and when this was realised their parents decided two children so young, and one with extra medical needs and academic attention, they needed help in the house.

which introduces Lilja! A galdur they've bought with the express purpose of helping to raise their children. Though help quickly turned into just doing. As Maevis and Riven got comfortable having Lilja around to do so much, they secluded more to their projects and work.

much to the upset of Neve's older sister, Rowan. Rowan was old enough to understand her parents distance, and miss it. Where Neve was being primarily raised by Lilja with passing influence from their parents, Neve did not know to miss their parents company as much. Rowan would grow up trying to follow more and more in her parents footsteps, becoming an engineer like her father and earning attention and respect on an academic level.

Neve meanwhile would be content to occupy themself as they grew older. Studying with interest in flow and the theoretical nature of their mothers research which they grew interested in.

Alongside both Neve and Rowans studies and passions came one final disruption to family life. The birth of the twins, Una and Sorely.

Young that Neve, they also grew up closer with Lilja than their parents. The twins were born with a connection to flow and abilities to access it as a power. Leading to even more household chaos and experimentation.

Sorely's flow abilities are more notable, alongside his active interest in both flow research and engineering, he earns a lot of attention from their parents. Albeit whilst also being the most troublesome of their children.

Una is similarly excitable, but notices the favouritism of her brother by their parents. She still loves her twin, and is thankful to have Lilja even if the lacking attention hurts. She develops her flow abilities more personally. Uninterested in her parents careers she is interested in the social game and networking that comes with business as she gets older, and is quite good at talking to and understanding people!

Neve gets along with the twins well, passively watching and encouraging their endeavors. On the other hand Rowan finds them all to be young and annoying, and fights with them a fair bit growing up for various reasons. Rowan and Neve manage to keep a peaceful relationship, but not very close. being keen to share quiet time, but not talk too much. Even as they find themselves working together at the temple of roots as they get older. Nearing humanity's fall...

A little comic about Neve and @weaselchild oc Laque! Neve has a few suitors between OCs and NPCs. The thing they all are gonna have to realise is Neve is emotionally dense as hell and it will take a WHILE for any form of flirting to register, much less realising or understanding any feelings of their own.

Neve is very academically inclined, not so much emotionally rip lmao

I wanted to do a series of Neve with their friends/important relationships. Both OC and canon NPCs. Neve gets along well with Auni in a sort of encouraging older sibling sort of role. Especially since Neve has very much taken a shine to the bugs of Kilima and its surrounding areas. They enjoy identifying and catching them with Auni and that leads to a lot of bonding. :]

part of a series of pieces I wanted to do with Neve's important relationships. Featuring @sergeantcowboy OC Hannes, as well as canon characters Hodari and Najuma!

Neve's hearing aids are initially not working when they reemerge, so they're stuck with lipreading and writing for a while until someone directs them to Najuma. The most local person to Kilima who might be able to figure out whats going on with the devices.

Neve lets her experimentally try to fix them whenever they're not working, and through that they grow a friendly reputation with one another. Hodari isn't exactly thrilled that she's working on something that important, but Hannes has helped convince him to let it be, as well as supervise.

My Palia OC, Neve Mochan! I originally posted them on my fandom blog but I've been having a lot more fun with them since then and wanted to show off the fullbody ref they have now!

On the left is their typical outfit! the right is some pajamas! I'm working on some alt outfits for various occasions but these are the ones I have right now! All of the outfits will be based off of in case outfits, though likely tweaked for my art style. Such as the top that Neve wears usually having patterns on the jacket in game, but I liked the flat look better.

y'all are going to see a lot more of this one I have been drawing them so much in the recent months I have a backlog of art haha.

didnt realise i didn't reblog this over to the oc blog whoops. Neve has grown and changed a lot in the past few months so I might make an updated post, but for now bringing this over here!

hey guys have i mentioned I love Palia? Decided to draw my player character / oc Neve Pinewood! I don't know asl myself so the finger spellings were based off some googling I did, let me know if I've used the wrong sign!

Anyways Neve is my pc! They're mostly a water type personality I think, though they have some tendencies for fire answers as well depending on the situation. (Mostly Auni, I feel the need to hype the kid up lol). They're courting Hassian and are close with Jina whose their shep!

They're a nerd whose enjoying the research they're doing through the ruins, though its an odd feeling to look at a past you don't remember but know was yours. They have a lot of complicated feelings about the whole reemergence. But they try to focus on the now, and being a good member of community!

Ramble more below the cut about them and their relationships for fun:

I think Never is deaf or at least hard of hearing in some way because I frequently play video games with the sound low or just off. So I think interpreting this as my character not usually being able to hear is fun. They have hearing aids though they don't always wear them, and they were a little flow fried after emerging from the riff.

Najuma has been allowed to tinker with the aids, though Hodari isn't thrilled that she's messing with medical equipment. But Neve doesnt see a lot of better options in the valley right now, and Najuma has done a decent enough job. Maybe they'll get comfortable enough to ask Subira for help.... but tbh they're not sure how to feel about her.

The first time their hearing aids were working properly they got to hear peoples voices really which was fun! Was not expecting Jel to sound like that though!! Really awkward out loud reaction to overhearing him speak tbh.

They can lip read fairly well, but they miss things a non infrequent amount (I as the player accidentally click through or skim dialogue and then end up having to guess what response I should have when given options whoops). They frequently choose to pretend they heard you perfectly fine and to awkwardly guess at a response, which is hit or miss, but the people who know them better have gotten better at realising when they're doing this thankfully.

They're fairly nonconfrontational and really just want the best for their friends and the village. They want everyone to be their best and try to understand people they don't normally agree with (Eshe). They're fairly polite and friendly, regardless of what they think of you, with the exception of Tamala as of recently seeing as she's crossed some lines with them...

They're a bit of a hoarder, never having enough chests for all their things. They're antsy about selling things in case someone needs something. They've getting better at finding things to sell if only to buy better storage lol. Their housing plot as a whole is just a MESS though, organized chaos at its finest.

I want to draw them and their interactions more tbh lol, I think their neat and I'm enjoying the game through them so :]

Faruaill idolized Aka. She barely knew he existed. There examples of media I feel like Icould compare this too but the examples I'm thinking of all hold a level of romance which obviously doesnt apply here smh.

But the general concept does. Faruaill adored Aka for what she represented and what she did. On a level he liked her as a person probably, but his idolization of her came from what she meant to him. As someone who survived his mothers abuse, proof that he could not just survive. But make his mother regret his survival and his inability to cow to her. She was an icon of what to strive towards, and he never sought warmth from Aka. That was still something out of reach in his mind, kindness like that wasnt found in his life until Kaerr was born. He didn't seek out affection from Aka like that, he didn't need to when her life alone drove him to be more.

and again, Aka saw none of this. Aka not only never realised how lifechanging she was for her nephew, but as a symptom of the abuse from her family that Faruaill couldn't have witnessed, she never realised she could be important or loved at all. She did not give her spouse the opportunity to love her, deciding he was incapable of it. Whether for lack of his own interest or lack of her own lovability they never discussed. And while Aka and Lorg had an incredible friendship for many decades of their marriage, she made that barrier for their relationship to never change.

she also never realised how much people cared about he ron a national scale. She is prince, and she is blessed by their god, and she is the herald of a new and kinder age for their faith. Her mentor in the faith adored her like a child of their own. Her peers who worked closely to bring these reforms together were more than coworkers they thought of her as a friend, a close one even.

But Aka never knew that, because she couldnt understand that she could have a kind interpersonal impact. She wanted so much better for her court, for their faith. She wanted the betterment of life while she had the power to do so. and she was adored for so much. She didn't understand any of that though, she only understood what she wanted and what she could do. Regardless of thanks or care. Because she had been so thoroughly beaten down to believe she lacked worth or lovability next to her sister.

So Faruaill idolizes his aunt, he has to to survive the same beast that beat Aka down. But he never saw that far into Aka's mind. He only saw the cool resilience and steely confidence with which she learned to hold herself. Aka herself would never realise how important and life changing she was to anyone, much less her nephew. Not her spouse or her mentor or her peers or her people.

Faruaill loved his aunt so much because she was the only example he had of someone his mother tormented as much as him and who stood up to her. Her resilience was quiet, but it made Fyri so much angrier than anything else. It was proof that he could be something more than her, and he could save himself.

Aka was fairly indifferent to Faruaill though. She only saw him once in a while when she needed to conduct business of any kind with her sister, or otherwise keep up appearances. She would not visit more than necessary and while she was initially wary of Faruaill for being her sister's child, she grew vaguely pitying of him and his situation. She had likely in passing offered him comfort or kind words, but largely her focus was on her sister, and Faruaill's adoration of her didn't come from what she did for him. But from observing her exchanges with his mother.
