Aemond Targaryen as INTJ/ENTJ: Why?

Aemond Targaryen, one of House of the Dragon’s most complex protagonists, perfectly embodies many of the characteristics of an INTJ and an ENTJ, two Myers-Briggs personality types known for their determination, strategic vision, and leadership. But what’s the difference? And how do these categories apply to Aemond?

Aemond displays many typical INTJ traits, particularly when it comes to his long-term vision and ability to plan precisely. Although he initially appears to be second to his brother, Aemond stands out for his strategic intelligence and determination to gain power. His stubbornness and methodical approach to conflict resolution make him a typical INTJ: he never settles for superficial solutions, but always looks at the bigger picture, even if that means acting in isolation or detachedly.

On the other hand, Aemond also displays many traits of an ENTJ: his ability to take command and ambition to rule make him a natural leader, although often using direct and, at times, ruthless methods. When Aemond acquires the dragon Vhagar, he becomes bolder, more aggressive in pursuing his goals, and quick to impose himself on others. Like a typical ENTJ, he has a clear vision of what he wants (power and dominance) and will do anything to achieve it, regardless of the obstacles. Aemond is not afraid to use force or persuasion to gain the respect he believes he deserves.

The combination of INTJ and ENTJ traits in Aemond is what makes him such a fascinating and complex character. In a way, INTJ represents his introverted and strategic side, working behind the scenes, while ENTJ manifests itself in his more extroverted and dominant behavior. Both personality types reflect his determination and desire for power, but Aemond is a fusion of these aspects. He’s introverted in many points, but always ready to emerge as an unstoppable leader.
