YES OMG. This is one big reason I cannot take them seriously. Like how are you gonna write paragraphs upon paragraphs defending that and then say it's Sky's fault he got roofied? Villains do bad things, we understand. But we don't need to justify Diaspro's attempts to kill, control, and betray multiple people.

Something I find really funny (and kinda disturbing) is that most of Riven's haters can't stop being interested in him. These people will throw out the same old "Riven's a terrible boyfriend," "Riven is toxic," "Riven is the worst specialist," or "Riven should've died instead of Nabu," takes over and over again. Or worse, harass fans who do like him, some even accusing us of supporting abusive relationships (wtf). Yet, whenever there's discussion on this character, they all flock to it. Take the reboot for example; almost every Winx fan I saw was anticipating how he would look like and when he was revealed, they all said he looked good (only for haters to turn around saying he doesn't deserve a nice model). It's definitely weird, I've never seen another fictional character from children's media illicit the same response before.

Ideas for a spinoff about the Specialists?

So, lots of people believe the Specialists aren't fleshed out enough and are just there to be the Winx girls' boyfriends. What if they got their own spinoff show? What could the plot be about?

I personally would like Rainbow to just partner with an anime studio like WIT Studio or Madhouse to do it. Give us good fight scenes and sakuga yes, but also a story about friendship, loyalty, and heart. Throw in some conspiracy, politicking, and violence (I'm alright with gore/nudity but some may not be lol) to spice up the plot and it'll be even better imo.

I'd make Sky the main character, but also give focus to the other guys and their backstories (don't repeat the same mistake Winx did with making Bloom too central to every season). Go into his and Brandon's childhoods; showing the difference in the ways they were brought up. One a prince with the future responsibility of being king of Eraklyon, and the other a servant under the royal family who becomes the prince's right hand man.

That's just a small snippet of my ideas for a potential Specialist spinoff. I feel like if Rainbow wanted to capture a larger audience that attracts both males and females, this might be a good way to do so. I'm interested to know if anyone else has any ideas for this kind of spinoff or even backstories for the specialists that could fit.

Finally, Nabu. His design came naturally to me, so props to Rainbow for making him easy to draw. Nabu's not a specialist but I'll add him to the tags lol.

So far we've seen the specialists use personalized shields but where are their weapons?? How are they gonna fight monsters without them? The swords, guns, nunchaku, etc. Are they only supposed to subdue and not kill now? That's lame. I wanna see Brandon whip out his buster sword to kill a manticore or Riven shank someone with his phantoblade.

Idk why Helia got the most redesigns out of all the specialists but alright. When he debuts in the reboot later, I hope they bring his long straight hair back.

I want Bloom and Sky's relationship to be enjoyable in the reboot. It doesn't have to be an epic Shakespearean romance, just cute. If, in today's age, Rainbow has to be the one to give us a "princess and her prince" storyline before Disney, then I'm all for it. Disney princes are a dying breed and we need someone to represent them today.

Going into the Winx reboot knowing it's gonna be like the G5 My Little Pony situation all over again. I hope I don't get too attached to it because it's hard not to feel hurt by some of the things haters can say.

Timmy time. I think one reason he looks so young in the reboot is his glasses having round frames instead of rectangular.

Sorry to hear all of ya'll's experiences. I personally don't hate the Nick seasons (I mean, it's a cartoon. I don't "hate" shows that are meant for children to enjoy), while at the same time, I can understand why fans of the older seasons dislike them. I think those video essays/reviews on Youtube also influenced opinions on certain seasons, which is why I don't really like watching them. The reviewers have the right to their opinions of course, but I feel like they're judging the show based on their expectations as adults and not through the minds of the target audience. And yeah, I understand the "kids deserve well-written shows too!" argument, but oftentimes it devolves into "kids should watch what I used to watch,". Every generation grows up with different trends and it isn't a surprise that a long-running show like Winx Club is constantly adjusting to that.

It's why I dislike the specific complaint about the reboot characters not looking "cunty" enough, or that they smile too much(?). Like, it's a show about magical girls with colorful designs. Why can't they act young and cute? It's not just to appeal to a younger demographic, some of us adults like cutesy things like that too.

I've seen some people not like how Musa looks younger than Riven in the reboot. That she looks like a child and he an adult and the ship would be akin to grooming/pedophilia, which is just ridiculous. Musa doesn't look that much younger than Riven to me, and canonically, they're both 16.

People need to stop going "Age gap!" every time they see a pairing where one character doesn't look exactly as old as they want them to. Also stop throwing around serious terms like pedophilia/grooming when it comes to fictional characters in a show FOR KIDS.
