I’m winning today!

My mom was in between shows and I recommended watching 911 and just give it a shot. If she did’t like it, that’s fine. But I talk bout it everyday (we work together) and she’s been getting news articles about it so she caved and started watching it. (She does know about Bobby 💔) She wasn’t too fond of the first season but realized that it was just trying to establish itself and was gonna keep going. This was the first text I ever got about the show-

Today she is finally gonna watch the tsunami episodes (just saw the start of it, “you’re gonna be okay kid.” Where did all the water go?”) and has been blowing up my phone before she watches it and here’s how it’s going so far—

She then called me apologizing and said this show is so freaking good and that she will never give me shit again. I’m dying of laughter and I told her to buckle in for the tsunami and that I’m here if she wants to talk about it.

It’s a good day for me.

I feel like because Buck didn’t crash out… Bobby’s not actually dead.

(I mean there’s a WHOLE BUNCH of reasons why I think he’s not dead, based on this episode alone)

But.. Like…what the hell?! The one time I WANT Buck to be in a deep dark depression hole.. he’s not.

I mean, we got more tears with Eddie than Buck!

Sooooooo…….(one disbelieving and one crash out TikTok (sbear26) later)… let’s actually write out a post about…you know.

..Cause like, if Bobby’s actually dead, Tim is fucking evil..

But…

•His explanation for why is so weak.

•The firefam all posted “goodbyes” without saying “Bobby’s dead” in any way.

•I haven’t seen any post from Angela about it.

•Kenny could just be playing all this up, feeling like how we all feel right now, instead of being normal cause he knows.

•The funeral got leaked weeks ago.

•There’s that page of the leaked script that says Bobby’s being buried alive.

•Bobby’s had so many near deaths so close together.

•His house is still being built.

•He just reconnected with his mom.

•You get rid of Bobby and now Athena’s being limited and has a clearer exit for Angela to leave.

•Peter and Angela are the money makers for the show. So why kill off one and limit the other??

If this whole switch of networks has ABC “redoing” major events from seasons 1-6 and making them “better,” then this is a redo of lightning strike. It could mean they actually kill a character, but there’s a part of me that thinks that’s not the direction they are going for. A virus isn’t as crazy as the lightning. If they wanted a “sudden” death, they showed that with the bus crash. But Bobby still lived.

If it really is a fake out, and Bobby is buried alive. That’s a way to “better” the lightning strike. Buck was dead but we heard his heart beating again because Eddie restarted it before the episode ended, so even if he was in a coma, we all knew he’d be fine. In the coma episode, there’s this “will he, won’t he” and we are all feeing that again in a different (more dramatic) way.

ABC’s first responders shows don’t kill major characters out of the blue like that. The Rookie is 7 seasons in and has killed one major character, which was in season 4 because of bigoted assholes. Grey’s does kill major characters out of the blue I.e. Mark (s9) and Lexi(s8), but they weren’t the first. George was and he was already being written off the show. He had an exit plan (going to the Army) that was in play for weeks. They wrapped up his storylines then killed him off dramatically because as an audience we knew he was leaving but it was a fake out of HOW he was leaving.

I’m just saying, if this really is a fake out, it’s a genius move for the show.

If it’s not, then this is the beginning of the end of 911 and that’s a damn shame.

i think this will either go one of two ways. either A) they see the backlash, realize it's not going to go away, and reverse bobby's death, (cmon you're gonna risk losing angela basset?) saving the very little face they have left for their very popular show. or B) they won't have the balls to tell Tim Minear to change the story and he runs the show into the ground. either the show will become incredibly grief stricken and depressing that it's not fun to watch anymore or they're going to move on so quickly from Bobby it feels unnatural and the show will feel incredibly soulless.

Angela Bassett has already said she doesn't see a world where Athena and Bobby don't end up together at the end of the show. the interviews have revealed that literally everybody (the cast, the crew, the execs) did not think this was a good idea. we know there were multiple endings filmed, that the execs had to talk Minear out of a 4 minute helicopter chase scene in the middle of an episode when they couldn't even be bothered to show eddie once, and the deadline article points out that this was a this was "the biggest risk Tim has ever taken in his 30 year career." people apparently understood this was an incredibly risky and stupid move.

and as much as i would like to hold onto all of that, i think there's a very real, simple, and terrifying possibility that they're not going to reverse this and that the show is going to be run into the ground, despite all of the obvious reasons not to.

i think the best thing to do is keeping up the pressure because there are so many cracks in this already that it's very possible we could fix if we don't let it die.

i'm sorry for the dramatics, but i really don't wanna lose this show to a bad writing decision, especially not when i feel like there is something we can do and this could maybe be reversed.

Bobby told buck "they're gonna need you" and now all I'm thinking about is buck being there for everyone next ep, supporting them, being whatever they need, but then Eddie finally arrives and the minute he asks buck how he is buck just fucking falls apart and starts sobbing

I just saw that 8x13 is called “Invisible”…

Theory, but are we gonna get Eddie NDE at the end of 8x12, then 13 is him in like a coma dream(like with bucks lightning strike) that ends with him getting together with Buck?

Then 8x14 is called “Sick Day” and that’s Buddie playing hooky (honeymoon period). But somehow get caught up in something with that the 118 respond to which leads to 8x15 that’s called “Lab Rats” (2 part episodes) and Buck gets his NDE?

Like could we get speedrun Buddie and both having NDE’s before the end of the season?

It hasn’t been done before on this show, and I feel like it would be something that ABC would encourage to get more views. AND something so different we’d all be at the edge of our seats for. Especially with us Buddie shippers.

So everyone’s like focusing on the “I have feelings part” and assuming he’s talking about Eddie (unintentionally).

But are forgetting the first part of this? “I don’t have to want to sleep(sex) with everyone I have feelings for”

This makes me think it’s not about Eddie or it’s another denial but multi dimensional? Cause if Buck does really love him, do you think he would not want to sleep with him?

I dunno what I’m trying to say. It’s just this sentence doesn’t get me as hyped and crazy as everyone seems to be.

Okay…. So… 8x11 of 9-1-1

To start I’ll let you know, I haven’t seen the full episode yet, but I spoiled myself (only some regrets) and I have many thoughts and questions but like….

I keep seeing the gif set of Tommy saying basically let’s get back together “now that there’s no competition” and Buck, being Buck, presses and comes to the conclusion he means Eddie. And Tommy’s like “duh? 🤨” . Then proceeds to scoff at the mere mention that Eddie’s straight….

And then I thought of the last time we saw Tommy, ie the Breakup ™️ and Tommy said “I’m your first, not your last.”

Like we all are like “HES TALKING ABOUT EDDIE!”

So…..we were right? I keep thinking “this can’t be right? We never win. We take the crumbs and run with them before they can take them back.” But.. We weren’t DeLuLu and hoping. They just FUCKING CONFIRMED IT without actually saying it?!?!

Like…. I remind you I haven’t even SEEN the episode or clips. Just that fucking gif set and “are you?” Buck replying he’s “not in love with his straight best friend”

My brain is already broken.

Story time!

My husband and I watch 9-1-1 together and he knows I’m all for Buddie getting together. Every once in awhile when we are in bed and can’t sleep. He asks me “what you reading?” And I describe what’s happening in the fic using general pronouns(he finds it weird I read gay/bi fics that have any smut(which most of them do)) and his response is “this is a Buddie fic isn’t it?” Umm.. yes sir, always.

Anyways- we watched the new episode (8x10) and I told him before that I only knew about the U-haul goodbye scene(thank you TikTok x2 (1. For the leaked footage and 2. For an edit of the actual scene that told me it aired). So, we are watching that scene right. And I’m at the edge of my seat smiling but clutching a pillow to me(gotta protect my heart through the hell it’s going through) and Eddie says “it’s been messy and hard”

My husband pauses the tv immediately and starts LAUGHING IS ASS OFF and says “THATS SO FUCKING GAY! HOLY SHIT!” After a few mins of this, he’s like “you’re loving this aren’t you? Cause now I’m starting to think you’re on to something.” (First of all, starting?? after the shooting/will scene 4 seasons ago??)

I just give him a look and respond “it’s a love hate relationship right now. Because for them to go canon, something bad has to happen to either Buck, Eddie, or Chris and the 118th episode is coming soon and it’s RG’s 100th episode.”

“Sucks to be you then, why can’t you watch a show without getting so invested?” Like sir, you married me? You knew that I do this. How dare you question me now, 10 years in.

And that’s the story of how 8x10 of 9-1-1 made my husband get on the Buddie train.

Okay…. I’ve been rewatching some old Buddie scenes because of the potential of Eddie moving back to El Paso and…. excuse my language but…. What the fuck?

It’s like the writers are new or don’t know what to do with Eddie anymore. Or like someway, somehow the episodes are out of order.

In THAT scene, Buck asks “he has grandparents, family” and Eddie reply’s “After Shannon left, they tried to guilt me into giving Christopher to them. It wasn’t what I wanted then, it’s not what I want now.” They then both agreed that no one would fight harder for Chris than Buck.

So WHY THE FUCK haven’t either of them gotten him back yet??

Eddie started season 7 with Marisol and Chris and everyone’s fine. Then Chris is dating multiple girls (Eddie is baffled and doesn’t know how to handle it so he asks Buck for help) and said it has to do with his mom to Buck and we get that EMOTIONAL shot of Eddie devastated after hearing this. Then proceeds to give him a letter to bring about closure for him. Eddie seemed to already have closure or at least repressed it.

Then Eddie meets Kim…. And the Eddie we have loved for 6 seasons is IMMEDIATELY GONE. He does the exact same thing that he told Buck about Christopher was not okay And needed to be fixed (he was BEGGING Buck for help).

Like, my dude, how did you think this was gonna go? You kept everyone in the dark. Your son, your best friend, your GIRLFRIEND and even Kim! What was his end goal? It doesn’t make any sense.

Like I understand that if Gavin wasn’t gonna be around next season, and you need to write him off but have him potentially come back, there were several ways you could have done that but still kept true to the characters. Have Chris go to a boarding school. Or a school trip. Or literally ANYTHING ELSE! Then season 8, keep the Kim storyline, but Chris is already gone and doesn’t witness it. Cause now that whole confession thing with Kim pretending to be Shannon and actually get closure was pointless. If they’d done that with Chris gone, he’d have the closure. Work on the PTSD crawling back up in an empty house, keep the Priest and finding Joy and then keep that for a bit and then heal.

That was a whole side tangent really for the main point I was trying to make, but why does Eddie- lose Chris, grow a mustache, grieve for not having his son, have an episode where a Priest says “let yourself have Joy,” then take it away in the next couple of episodes by saying “I’m thinking of moving to Texas” based on the words of a psycho actor??

Chris is a TEENAGER! Hell- he might still be a preteen, grow the fuck up and go parent your son. You’ve put your foot down before, why is this any different?? After a few weeks, I would have been like “nope, we’re done with this. I get I fucked up, but I’m still your dad so we are gonna talk about this and figure out some common ground.” I understand feeling guilty and not wanting to push him even farther away but you’re not even trying! Phone calls don’t show “I want you here with me,” it says “I’m okay with you being gone.”

You’re thinking moving to El Paso is a great idea… but it’s not. Your parents suck. You know this. YOU MOVED HALF WAY ACROSS THE US TO GET AWAY FROM THEM FOR A REASON! I get you patched things up slightly, but not enough.

ALSO! Why wasn’t Buck an option?!? Because of Tommy? I get because Gavin being out of the show(temporarily?) would have made that impossible but why wasn’t it even mentioned? I mean, He’s run to him before, he’s called him when Eddie had his breakdown and Chris didn’t know what to do. But like THEY HAD THE WILL, why wasn’t it even a factor in this. At the time, it felt like, at least to Chris, that Eddie was incapable of taking care of him, which means that Chris should go to Buck. Not his grandparents.

I just don’t understand what they are doing with these two. E and C. Bucks got his bisexual journey(relationship with Tommy). Bobby has multiple storylines. The Hans had the Mara and new baby storylines. Hen and Karen had the Ortiz/Mara and Denny/Halloween storylines. Athena has literally any storyline involving cops. And all those storylines make sense for each character. Eddie’s and Chris’s doesn’t. They keep pushing Eddie to be sad then happy then making stupid decisions. DEVELOP YOUR FUCKING CHARACTER! You’ve been dropping the ball since at least the network switch. Which I find super funny because yes, he does the emotional scenes super amazing but now it seems like his character is more open. He’s making more funny faces, he’s got the loose hair, he makes comedic jokes. But he’s almost(so close) to reminding me of Buck 1.0.. but it doesn’t fit with the storyline at all. At least to me…

Like does anyone agree with any of this? Am I just seeing things? Did the writers get told Gavin was leaving too late and made this story on the fly and rolled with it? Does Ryan want out of the show and they are keeping it under wraps? Like WHAT IS HAPPENING? Make it make sense!

I thought the mid season finale was supposed to be called “Sob Stories”? That’s what everyone on TikTok has been saying. But the ABC schedule says it’s called “Wannabes”.
