SH Month Day 22: Flirty X Shy

“So, your numbers got you this far. Tell me why none of what you described is you.” The corners of his lips twitched with amusement when his fingers finally made contact with her idle ones. Ghosting over hers. While he kept his onyx eyes locked in with light purple ones.

Sasuke watched the gears in Hinata’s head turn, and found it amusing watching a computer break down in real time. “I-I…I am not those traits.”

“Why? What makes you not those traits? You’re everything you described.”

He was saying she was beautiful. He tricked her this whole time.

Sasuke smirked as he lifted Hinata’s hand up to his lips. Kissing her trembling hand as he watched her scramble to form words. This woman had the intellect that would make his mother demand for him to marry her, but common sense of seeing when someone was flirting with her was absent from her cranium.

 In the quiet days after the war, Sasuke often wanders the village to clear his mind. Each time it rains, he finds Hinata training and dancing in the water.

Sasuke dug in his pocket and hesitantly held out the box. Hinata opened her mouth with an irritated look on her face. “Wait.” He started before she could say anything. “Hear me out.” She straightened her face and primed herself to listen. She wasn’t mad at him. She was mad at Fugaku for trying again. “I really like you.” He started. “I know this is the dumbest way to tell you that.”

Hinata interrupted him. “I know.”

“Just let me finish. Dad gave me permission to ask you out, for real. I don’t want to pressure you, but he only gave us until dinner tonight to decide.” Sasuke explained. “I only want you to say yes if you actually want to, not just because mom will be less annoying, not because dad wants you to, not because you’re afraid of hurting my feelings, only if what you want to do.” Rewind. His hungover brain missed something. “Wait… What?!”

Hinata waited patiently for him to understand what she said.

“You know?” Sasuke gapped. “How…?”

“You wouldn’t stop telling me last night,” Hinata turning her eyes away as her cheeks turned red.
