I wanted to let you know that your game Saturnine is being distributed online in fully unlocked versions, so anyone can play the entire game without paying. Some versions also include mod menus to boost stats, but the main issue is that the full game is freely available.

I thought you should be aware of this situation, even if there’s nothing you can directly do about it.

Unfortunate, though I can't say I'm shocked. Pirating ChoiceScript games isn't exactly a hard task.

At least the game is still selling decently well.

Found a bug in the release, so SPOILERS

MC just ran away from the events on Rhea, we get to the epilogue, and West tells us that Meta Trio are MIA. However, during the birthday party, the game goes as if Lisa is here on the station. Like this passage

""Okay, I admit, your guys know how to have fun even without moonshine," Lisa says, once she's done chewing on her own piece of cake. "Still, I wish there was some music. You have a radio in your room, right?"

I'm already aware of that bug. It's an issue with how the game checks which member of the Meta Trio is present on the station. I'm hoping to have an update pushed tomorrow.

Poland got munched with the rest of Earth, I'm afraid, but it's not all bad. Polish traditions, such as alcoholism and leader worship, survived into far future.

Bit of a nsfw question, I hope that's okay. But I was wondering if you can at all mix and match your character's bits so to speak. Cause like I feel like the game has made it pretty clear that male body = penis, female body = vagina.

And like, I'd prefer if that wasn't the case all things considered, especially if it becomes relevant later.

Saturnine does not have mechanics for mixing and matching private bits, or any kind of detailed sex mechanics. It's not a smut game, having such a section would detract from the story and probably push the rating up.

If you want to roleplay as a character with a very unusual body type, choosing an androgynous body is probably your best bet.

Secondary ROs roster

T-minus 2160 minutes. Saturnine is about to release in less than two days, concluding the project I've worked on for more than two years.

For that reason, I chose to update to my "RO Roster" and cover secondary love interests, those who only became fleshed-out characters and lovers during the game's production. I will eventually release a full roster (alongside a guide) on my Patreon, but for now, you may read this quick rundown.

Sheila

Species: Arachnobot

Sex/Gender: Female

Orientation: Pansexual (prefers androgynous characters)

Age: ~25 years

Height: One meter

Appearance: A huge metal spider

Likes: Very little except grumbling

Dislikes: Threats to her authority, organics, stupidity

Sheila is your boss. There is no better title for her, not really, for your tiny group of outcasts has no ranks or official responsibilities. Sheila tells everyone what to do, and that’s all there is to it.

You’re not sure why everyone is so eager to follow Sheila. It might have something to do with her appearance—few people would dare to defy a huge metal spider, with legs strong enough to crush skulls and very precise electric manipulators. She’s certainly a sight to behold, and a creature to be wary of.

But then again, beauty is in the beholder’s eye. Who says you can’t find your leader, an arachnobot with a short temper, as beautiful as any human woman? And who says you can’t have some fun together, under the sheets, in some forgotten compartment of Saturn Nine…

Miguel Rivera

Species: Werehog

Sex/Gender: Male

In a sea of madness, Miguel often feels like an island of sanity. Which is a little odd, given that he’s half-hedgehog.

The proper term for that is “werehog” but, unlike werewolves or werelions, Miguel never fully transforms or stays fully normal. He’s always just a bit erinaceous, with spiky hair and eyes almost devoid of whites. It stopped being unsettling months ago and, if anything, looks vaguely adorable.

You could get to know Miguel better. He’s nice, handsome, and more level-headed than most of your crew. It's just a question of whether you enjoy human companionship… and the feeling of spines pressing against your skin.

Da-xia

Species: Human

Sex/Gender: Female

Orientation: Bisexual (prefers men)

Age: 108 years

Height: 177 cm

Appearance: Light skin, bald head, dark-brown eyes

Likes: Preaching, hot showers, contaminating the water supply

Da-xia is the ruler of Calypso, or at least one of the moon’s spiritual leaders. Her presence commands awe, respect, obedience, or at the very least your undivided attention. There is something regal about her, something beautiful and slightly scary at once, that caught your interest when you first met her.

You seem to have caught her interest in turn, impressing the pandit with some quality of yours. You wonder if she finds you cute, or beautiful, or altogether desirable. You know there’s only one way to find out.

Ewald Hammon

Species: Human

Sex/Gender: Male

Orientation: Pansexual (prefers androgynous characters)

Age: 96 years

Height: 181 cm

Appearance: Sallow skin, dark hair, multi-colored eyes

You’ve met Executive Hammon very recently, inside a bank you were about to rob. It was a very short, very odd encounter, yet it felt meaningful in an ill-defined way. Was there some hidden message you missed? Or has something, against all odds, sparked between the two of you?

It’s all idle musings, of course. It’s unlikely you’ll ever meet Ewald Hammon again, and it’s even less likely that such an obscenely wealthy and powerful man has any interest in you or your station. But you cannot quite forget his mismatched eyes, burning with desire stronger than mere greed or lust for power.

Lisa “Hellhound” Herbert… is the name based on Worm? Or just a coincidence?

It was absolutely a Worm reference when I first envisioned the character. Naming an RO after all three Undersider girls at once seemed like such a clever idea at the time.

That said, since I changed Lisa's codename to "Foxhound" in the official release, the reference is really mudded at this point. Shame, but at least I can still use her last name for Dune references.

The Demo Is Out

Saturnine's official demo, covering the first four chapters, has just been released to the general public. The full game releases on all platforms in three days. Stay tuned.

Despite a few setbacks during production, Saturnine has been approved by Steam and appears ready for release on all platforms. Unless a freak meteor strikes Hosted Games headquarters within the next week, the game is basically guaranteed to release August 7th, just as planned.

Sergi the Savant. The Exalted Priest of Natrun, the leader of local clergy and your spiritual advisor. Loves discussing philosophy, baking cakes and holding hands by the fireplace. Has a truly magnificent beard.

Marcia Rupoli. Your loyal Castellan, tasked with enforcing your laws and protecting your life. Very strong, very skilled and very good-looking. Likes strong men, and strong women too.

Farai. A wandering performer whose troupe got stuck in Natrun right before the war. Eager to become your friend, your ally, and perhaps something more. Tall, handsome and just a little dangerous.

Elvira. You elven stylist and confidant, only recently freed from the shackles of slavery. May or may not need a hug. As feminine as a girly girl can get.

The game is currently 150k words long (not counting ChoiceScript code) with three chapters and a prologue available to everyone. Updates are released on a monthly basis. Patreon users receive early access to major updates, as well as exclusive access to bonus material.

Since the story is still in early stages, I will greatly welcome feedback of all kinds. Feel free to ask, comment, react and engage in whatever way you deem suitable.

Upcoming Release

Good news guys! Saturnine just came back from copy-editing and is practically ready for official release. I expect Hosted Games to release the game on Steam, App Store and their own site within two months at most.

In the meantime, I want you guys to settle a dispute. In the original draft, I consistently capitalized the term "Solar System" like a proper noun. My editor decided this is stupid and changed all instances to "solar system" thus treating it like common noun. I'm not sure whether I should challenge that decision, so I'll let you decide.

I had lots of free time. Completing one chapter a month is easy when the job market doesn't exist.

Hey I just wanted to say that I really love the writing Hadaly’s character has. I really love the nonviolent yet cold nature she has towards humans(if I’m reading her character right). Also just just played through the game a third time. This is probably one of my favorite IF games of all time tbh. Hope you’re doing well and good luck on your future projects.
