kinda want to make a proper conlang with austronesian alignment partly to help me vibe with learning tagalog

why is it called slugscript?? are you a big fan of slugs? and do you like snails too (i mean it in the nicest way possible)

ooh question!

so my conlang is called slug script because it's based on the dozen or so existing words/symbols from the game Rain World, and the animals you play as in that game are called slugcats, so i just combined the words :3

it's also why all the texts i've translated so far are from rain world

as for the actual animals,, i think theyre cool but i get icky touching them

so uh a lot of names and translations and stuff keep changing, so i might just update the doc with the grammar and word list from now on

honestly the only downpour stuff in this language so far is just the names of scugs

aww thankss i had a serious hyperfixation on rain world about a year ago and my little conlanging brain latched on to the little symbols in the game, enough that i wanted to make a whole language :3

it only has part of five pebbles' rant rn but i'll finish it tomorrow and continue with the echo and moon dialogue i translated before

yall i keep switching up these two basic pronouns in my own conlang it's almost embarrassing;;; AND!! i speak toki pona, and the arrows are in the opposite direction of the way the glyphs point in the writing system for toki pona too, so it's even more confusing

finally finished translating five pebbles' yapping to survivor, which also made me realize slugscript is not very space efficient;;

at least it'll look neater when i put it in the slugscript notebook

at some point i will probably have a website or other fully fledged documentation for slug script, i'll find a way to make it work

also i am translating five pebbles' dialogue to survivor (i get all my texts from the rain world wili)

i realised whenever i type slug script i am incredibly inconsistent with whether there's a space in the name or not, maybe i'll just make two tags with both options now lol

also this is why the word list and grammar pages are written on upside down pages:

so i can write in the normal direction without having to worry about having to double back or run out of space too early
