Amber wasn’t a cutthroat bitch. I don’t think Amber was as bad as the show told us, or at least not within the context of the show. When she was surrounded by so many people who had done/had yet to do such terrible things and made offensive comments daily, it’s difficult to think that she was thought of so badly for being sly and playing into House’s game. Cutthroat Bitch was a nickname that really stuck, but I really don’t think it’s fair, especially when you think about how terrible every single one of the other characters are. I obviously don’t think she was a perfect person. She was manipulative and competitive and snarky, but in the world of House, these are positive and desirable traits. I honestly think that if she were a man, she would’ve been praised for the same things that she was criticised for. She would be called smart and creative. But there is an unrealistic expectation for every female character that they have to be moral and empathetic and act as the conscience of the group. Her flaws were exaggerated under these conditions. Furthermore, when she continues to appear with Wilson, we see how kind and thoughtful she is. She can take charge and has confidence, but she isn’t aggressive or rude or cutthroat. She’s kind. And she always was. She’s just viewed unfairly.
(slightly related but this is kind of why I don’t think she is the female house, though that was super funny, but I won’t get into that now)

What I think would happen if House characters were in Gossip Girl part 1
I recently began to wonder, mostly because Leighton Meester is in both but also because they’re both shows about terrible people doing terrible things in wildly different contexts. Anyway, I ended up thinking about it a lot so here is what I think would happen if House characters were in the GG universe.
House is still a doctor in this universe. His association with the characters is wholly involuntary but the rich parents donate to the hospital where he works and he has been forced to network so that the hospital continues to get their money. He hates all of them, kids and adults, hates having to treat them, but he likes that they have warped morals and he likes to observe them like some kind of psychological experiment. He has a soft spot for Blair because her scheming impresses him and he thinks Dan is pathetic in a way that kind of reminds him of Wilson. He doesn’t care for Serena. The others he doesn’t know by name, but nicknames that he has assigned them to make fun of them.
Crucially, he loves sending tips to Gossip Girl. It’s his favourite hobby because he can tell the truth since there’s plenty to tell or he can lie because it’s fun and he isn’t above lying for entertainment. Then he just sits back and enjoys the consequences. Wilson tells him it’s unethical but eventually he gives up and the two of them make a bet about who can get GG to post the most untrue rumours which causes absolute chaos. Unfortunately, no one can get rid of him so they just have to deal with him being an evil mastermind.
There’s so much more that I would describe but this is too long already.

Every time I watch the X Files, I wonder why Scully refuses to believe even when she has seen proof and the only explanation left is aliens or the paranormal or supernatural. But Scully is someone who wants to help people, someone who believes she has an important job, a job that she gave up her medical career for and that caused friction with her parents. If the government are so untrustworthy as to hide such a monumental truth, if everything that Mulder says is true, then how can she be helping people? How can she cope with the fact that she isn’t? She gave everything for that job and it would be too much for her to have to face such an injustice. So it’s easier to doubt and to need proof. She needs to know she made the right decision. She needs to do good. Idk, just a thought.

Y'all remember in the beginning when Gus actually went to work? My favorite bit the rest of the series is when everyone asks, you still work there?

Being in the House fandom is crazy because nothing and everything is forgivable. House and Wilson can get away with anything but Cuddy and Cameron get away with nothing.

You know the obsession is bad when people specifically request that you don’t make any references.

I swear 90% of this show is just Mulder and Scully staring into each other's eyes like they're in a romance novel when in reality he's talking about his latest ridiculous theory (that will somehow end up being true,) and she's explaining why he's a fucking lunatic.

The most unbelievable thing about House MD is that Wilson doesn’t get married once in that entire series.

Bring back the best that tv has to offer
The people yearn for a new supernatural show to watch. Teenage girls everywhere long for a questionable, handsome, perhaps even older man to call their boyfriend as he acts with complete disregard to others and minimal, selective morals, yet saves people from the big bad. He has a tragic backstory and a brooding stare. He pretends not to have feelings. He has too many feelings. He has redeeming qualities? He is everything.

One thing about detective shows that bothers me a lot is the implication that the detective is incapable without the consultant, especially if the detective is a woman. I don’t care that she looks good in her leather jacket and high heeled boots, can we please focus on how she has a good reputation with her colleagues but relies entirely on a witty, immature, arrogant consultant. I love you and I only want you to do your job.

House and Mulder are weirdly similar

They’re both the eccentric genius in their respective professions and everyone admires them but is deterred by them in some way (House because he’s obnoxious and Mulder because he’s spooky) and they have outlandish theories that are always correct and they have something going on with a coworker/coworkers.

I find it so funny that people say the last few seasons of Lost were too crazy or were too different from the beginning of the show when there were literally polar bears in the jungle in the first season. The island was always weird and it was never just a plane crash survival story. “Oh but the time travel is when it went too far—” No! The series begins with everyone afraid of a strange monster. Locke is healed and can walk again. No one can find the island or comes to look for them. It was already weird. This is what the show was always about.
